The Ellis House is located in the East Town Neighborhood of Rock Hill, just three blocks from downtown Rock Hill and one mile from the Indoor Sports Complex. The living area is large enough for a queen blow up mattress (provided) if you move the coffee table. Please no parties or events at our home.
Cozy and comfortable with all the extras you need for a pleasant stay. The house is walking distance to parks, museums, restaurants and pubs.
The whole house is yours during your stay. There is a shed on the property that we store supplies in. You may see our cleaning crew coming by to access the shed. We will not disturb you.
Pets are allowed for a small fee. $10 a day per pet.

I booked this house for family to stay there when they visited from out of state. Overall everything went fine, checking in and checking out was easy and the neighborhood was quiet. However, I was disappointed that the pictures didn’t show the general state of the house which needs work for the cracks on the walls, old windows, and unsightly stains on the ceiling.
We enjoyed our stay here and the owner was very assessable.
We also enjoyed while in the house that there was a lot of tv availability. It also was very close to North Carolina which is where we were visiting family. I would recommend staying here.
Location was central to where we needed to be and quiet (outside of occasional neighbors revving their car/motorcycle). Heed the bathroom description, it is tiny and tight and I wish the light was brighter. Beds could be better, they slanted towards the middle, woke us up multiple times to get back to your side of the bed.
This was a perfect place for me and the dogs. I travel a lot going to trials with my dogs. It is important for me and the dogs to feel comfortable, safe and get a good nights sleep. This place did just that for us.
Everything about the house was great for what we needed it for....except the bathroom. The house description said it was small but a person of any large size would not be able to get through the space between the sink and door. I am 5'6" and had to turn to the side to stand up from the toilet.
We really enjoyed our stay the house was really neat. The only negative was a bit of noise and the bathroom was very small. Although that was noted in the description of the property in the listing.
Great house central to lots of options AND pet friendly
The house and location overall were great. It was nice to have a fenced in area for our dog. The only complaint we had was the size/layout of the bathroom. It was very narrow and cramped, specifically the entry. Linens and towels were high quality and plentiful, furniture was comfortable and snack bags were a nice touch!
This cute older, little house was perfect for my solo travel to Rock Hill, SC. Situated near downtown and close to great eateries, my little getaway was perfect to come home to each evening. Yes, the bathroom is small - but how much room do you need in a bathroom? This home made my stay more convenient and more delightful than a hotel ever could. Privacy, homey, even a Smart TV so I could catch the Olympic action in the evenings. Could sleep up to 4 people, but 1-2 would be more practical in the space. The flowers outside were blooming brightly as an added bonus!
Older home, neat and nice bedding. Kitchen adequate. Bathroom very small but updated fixtures and shower. No hangers in closets. Living room fairly spacious and comfortable. We were there when it was cold and rainy so being an older home it was somewhat drafty. Location good if you want to be near downtown Rock Hill, which is walkable.
Please check your backyard fencing.
Staying on public sidewalk facing the front door, the front right corner of the fence was down. My dogs found their way out.
Could you please add a few wine glasses to your kitchen supplies?
Would you consider added a couple of chairs and table to the backyard? The backyard is a great place to sit and enjoy a late afternoon.
Thank you
This house was perfect for us. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the dryer was so loud. We were there for my sons basketball tournament, so that meant washing clothes daily. However, after the first day I recognized I had to adjust when I washed clothes because the dryer was very loud, you could hear it throughout the whole house, all night. Otherwise, the house was as advertised and perfect for what we needed this week. Thank you!!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
The good and the realistic
The house was clean and the owners were easy to communicate with. The fenced in back yard was a reasonable size. We brought our dog so this was a large part of the selection. Unfortunately the entrance to the fenced area was not connected to the back of the house so we had to leash the dog and go out of a side door and then enter the fenced yard from a gate. The grass needed cutting and the brush near the fence was so thick I was scared of snakes. The small bathroom was disclosed and in other reviews. Take it seriously and if you are tall or large it is difficult to navigate (the sink and especially the toilet). Close to downtown, but the area around it was declined. We encountered no problems with safety though.
The Ellis House was an adorable 1920's refurbished mill house, and simply the most comfortable place I have ever ever stayed in Rock Hill. We work as a contractor for the local library, and have visited Rock Hill every 6 weeks for the past 14 years. I am not sure why I have never contemplated a VRBO home before, but I can say I will NEVER contemplate a hotel again unless this host is booked solid! The owner, who I googled and found had worked as an intern at a friend of mine's magazine, Charleston Home and Design, either brought those skills with her to the magazine, or away with her after her internship. This was the most tasteful and authenticly charming home! The little extra's only added to the charm. Not kniowing what to expect, I had stopped at the grocery store on the way in. When we opened the fridge, it had a bowl of eggs, and a bowl of butter pats and creamer. It already had coffee and snacks as well. It was pristine clean! I felt like I was at home, not away. In uber-fairness to the owner, when they say very small bathroom, they are being very honest. But It had it's own charm, and the shower was a generous size, and had a great shower head (Speakman? Didn't check, but felt like a Speakman, my favorite. Thick thirsty towels, and the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable! How many times can you say that about a hotel? From my vast experience, rarely. All in all, my best visit to my client in 14 yrs. Thanks to Tom & Sara for making their business such a welcomed option!
