Come relax in our fully equipped villas in the heart of Santa Teresa, just steps from the best surf in Costa Rica. Villa Carambola, one of 4 villas at Villas Solar is a cozy one bedroom house that perfectly suits a couple or a single traveler. Relax in the hammock on the private patio overlooking the garden of bananas, starfruit and papayas. Mainly built from local teak, this Villa is charming and quite comfy.
Our property is gated with a caretaker that lives onsite. We offer parking, wifi, tv, ac, a communal rancho with bbq. We are centrally located to many restaurants such as Soda Bosque and and Soda Pura vida, Kina Surf Shop is directly in front of Villas Solar, and we are just a 3 min walk to the supermarket and most importantly the beach with the best waves in the are by far for surfing.

Great find!

Paradise Found

If you are thinking of booking a stay at Villas Solar, stop thinking about it and just book it. Everything about our stay was perfect from the location (literally 5 min walk to beach and several restaurants and groceries) to our excellent host, Greggory who was a wealth of information and extremely helpful in securing things like surf lessons. The accommodations themselves were a perfect blend of comfort, style and convenience. We will definitely be back!

Authentic Costa Experience with comforts of home.

Enjoyed our stay at Villa Solar. Everything was as expected. Cute spot; very comfortable. The air was great, bed comfy. Grateful for the coffee.

Great place, we came back just 2 days later!

Cute villa with great host in a great location. Property was clean and had all the amenities needed! Very close to the beach and to all the great restaurants. Greg, the host was a great source of information for things to do in the area. Luna, the villa dog was a treat as she kept us company on our patio every day! It was a wonderful stay! Would recommend and would definitely come back again!

This place was perfect! Greg was a fantastic host! Close to the beach (4min), Many restaurants close by, grocery store... We were on a 2 months trip to Costa Rica and this place is by far the best of the best! The dog Luna became a good friend of us! Thank you so much Greg for everything. We already miss you!

Beautiful, clean home that's in the center of town and 30s from the best surf in the area. Greg was an excellent communicator and we found his property to be the perfect home base for our stay. He was also flexible when we were running behind schedule on our check-out. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect

Great location minutes from the beach and minutes from the grocery store, restaurants, etc. All of Greg's villas are within a gated area so you can step off the busy, crowded, dusty street and have privacy. Greg was very helpful to get us set up with a fishing charter and surfboard lessons through his inside, local connections. We loved staying here and will definitely come back.

Fantastic place in a perfect location

I stayed 10 nights in at Villas Solar in Santa Teresa. It was supposed to be 8, but I was enjoying myself too much and extended the trip. The villa is well-equipped, comfortable, and set in a private courtyard. But just outside the proprerty is the main road of Santa Teresa. You can walk to many restuarants, a grocery store, and most importantly, the beach. Greg was a fantastic host. We had some great conversations and he offered plenty of local tips. He also hooked me up with a great surf instructor and ATV rental. And, of course, Luna the dog was always around to say "hi" or just fall asleep on the floor next to me. Villas Solar was the perfect blend of hospitality, convenience, and comfort.

Amazing location and really a home away from home!

Greg is the BEST! Extremely responsive and a genuinely wonderful person. He helped me out when I had issues at the bank and was so kind to help set up our tours and taxis. I highly recommend this cozy villa and any of the homes treat are part of Villas Solar. There's a juice shop around the corner, great spots to eat within walking distance, and the beach is just a couple minutes walk from the house. The villa is perfect and has everything you need, plus the mattress is very comfortable. Luna is adorable and so sweet. I will definitely be back!! ¡Pura vida!

lovely well equipped villa close to the beach

We had a wonderful week, the villa was attractive and well treed around it for ample privacy from neighbours in the small gated community. Greg's dog, Luna was a lovely friend during our stay. We could hear the howler monkeys from our villa. It was close to the beach, shops and great restaurants. We enjoyed shopping for all of the fresh foods and cooking for ourselves most nights. Beautiful weather, quiet beaches, great vacation destination.

Cool and comfortable

Villa Carambola was the perfect launching pad for my girlfriend and me in Santa Teresa. The little villa was just the right size for the two of us and the location was very central to best breaks and great restaurants in town. Greg was a great host and provided us with insider info on the best vendors in town, local restaurants, and surf shops. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Villa Solar if they plan on staying in Santa Teresa. First Class!

Couldn't be happier with our choice!

Greg's villa was in a great location: walking distance to the beach, restaurants, convenience store, shops. The villa was clean, had a comfortable bed, great ac in the bedroom, hot water, equipped kitchen, nice sitting area on the porch, and was very private, even with the other villa and house nearby. The villa is in a gated lot and is very secure and safe. Greg and his Dad were both so kind and helpful. They were quick to help us with anything we needed and very easy to get in touch with. I have only good things to say about our stay. It was overall a wonderful experience and we would gladly stay there again.

Awesome place, good location

We stayed in Villa Carambola at Villas Solar. Very nice place... beautiful teak construction, nice little kitchen, and great patio for lounging/napping. We stayed for two weeks just for surfing. The place is a few minute walk to the beach break at Playa Santa Teresa and walkable to surf Playa Carmen. Walkable to several good restaurants. Greg, the owner, is super friendly and has the lowdown on good places to eat, surf, rent quads, get tours, etc. The caretakers Elisa and Chino are very friendly, but I don't speak much Spanish so unfortunately didn't get to know them well. Their dog Luna is super friendly. I would recommend Villas Solar. They are a great value. The only downside I found was that the main road through Santa Teresa is nearby and it is noisy. I'll point out that at night with the A/C you can shut the windows to block some noise. I'll also mention that VRBO is a little strange... when you book, you have to make two payments: one to VRBO for their listing service, and one to Greg for a deposit. I promise Greg isn't trying to rip you off.

Great spot...quiet end of town

We stayed at Gregs for 2 weeks. We had some bad luck happen while we were there and Greg was a huge help .He was super considerate and offered suggestions regularly. The cabin was super clean,safe and super cute...and came with the best dog ever..Luna. The caretakers were very quiet and did a great job keeping the place clean.Highly recommend this place .
