Conveniently situated in the Ambergris Lake Villas in San Pedro, this multi-level home is just a short walk from the seashore at the southern tip of Ambergris Caye. You'll be within easy walking distance of picturesque beaches, fishing charters, and world-class snorkeling and diving.

Step inside to admire a living space full of natural beams, cheerful colors, and central air conditioning to help you beat the tropical heat. Come home from a day of fishing, swimming, and sunbathing to watch one of the three flatscreen TVs, take a nap on the sectional sofa, or use the WiFi to post a few photos.

Huge house

This was a very spacious house. Comfortably fit my large family of 11. There was evidence of mice. Master bedroom didn't have a place to unpack so I was digging through my suitcase all week. All closet space was used on extra sheet & blanket storage.

We call it the Mosquito House

Very clean home and everything worked. The mosquitos were out of control. I know they are worse when it rains but they were worse at the house than anywhere else we went on the island. People that live near by refer to this area as mosquito coast because it’s known for having more mosquitoes due to the lagoon all around it. I used the bathroom next to the pool once when returning from town and got but over 40 times. Out of the 6 of us staying 4 or us got insane amounts of bites every time we went outside. I think the standing water around the house also contributes to them. The water pressure down stairs isn’t great. The cleaner was there when we arrived and we had to help her reset the modem password. Not a big deal cause we knew what we were doing. Beware the road is ROUGH going to and from the house. It takes a good 15-20 min on golf cart just to get to town, making it a very long ride to and from the truck stop or secret beach. If you plan on going to these places more than once I would recommend a house on the north side of town. The first few days were super windy so we were able to use the pool but once the wind calmed down the mosquitoes were so bad it made it unbearable to be outside. We booked this home specifically for the pool area and we’re disappointed we couldn’t use it more. The pool at truck stop also sits near a lagoon but the mosquitoes were never as bad as they were at this house. Good thing is that you can have your companies pick you up at the resort across the street. The other irritating thing was we think we left AirPods there, for them to even ASK the cleaning lady if she found some, they want $25 prepaid to find out. They wouldn’t even ask her if she found any at all without paying. Communication wasn’t great, I had to ask twice usually before getting a response and had to go to the property website and make an account to email them and get responses. There is no real address either for the property, you just go the specific miles south of town and you see it. Everything worked and was clean, they had enough spices and stuff for basic cooking. The full size coffee maker was great! Overall 4 stars due to the few irritating things.

The Mosquito Coast!

The house is great! Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, plenty of room, great views and a lovely outdoor space and pool. The neighborhood is quite which is nice as San Pedro is very busy and loud. However, it's about 15-29 minutes cart ride to town and the area delivers on its title as the mosquito coast. They are relentless making it very difficult to enjoy the outdoor space even with 98% deer spray on. We were there during the summer/rainy season so that probably didn't help. Overall it was a great stay for our group of 6 40 somethings.

Good for the price

Rented this house May of 2022. I’d say for the price it has everything you need and more. Plenty of space for 12+ guest. It’s just a little far from the center. Pool was a little dirty but I contacted the property manager and someone came out right away. Overall a great experience and I would definitely rent this place again.

Stay in paradise

My only regret is that we only stayed 2 nights! The house is beautifully done, and felt almost like a luxurious treehouse. It was just my husband and I, but this would also do well for a family or group of friends. We would definitely come back!

Gorgeous place!!!! I thought I was renting a cabin on a resort...turned out I got the whole place to myself!!!! Beautiful space! No basic cooking supplies...but drinking water(5 gallon) was provider which was nice! Lots of towels & kitchen stuff though!(blender, coffee maker, microwave etc)

Hot and Pool needed cleaning

It was okay. My biggest issue was that the only rooms that had AC were the bedrooms which was great but the other rooms were very hot. Also, the pool should've been cleaned EVERYDAY. We were there for 6 days the guy only came twice. We would've been happy to clean it but they locked everything up. We were swimming around dead bugs and stuff from the trees a lot.

This is our second time staying at this large house . It is located in the southern end of the Island, Its is quiet and no buildings on either side. Has a large outdoor area. Best for 8-10 people. This time was only 2 last time 6. Easy to get excursions from , just walk across the street and get picked up from Hol Chan hotels dock. Down side is the house is showing its age , had no cleaning supplies and no condiments/ spices .

Weekend at " La casa pura vida"

My family had a great time the venue is very spacious and my group was very comfortable. It was a weekend of relaxation .The villa was equipped with every thing we needed for our stay.It was a little distance from town but it was exactly what we wanted.I really appreciate that they let us get in the villa early .That was great.I will definately stay there again on another visit.Thankyou very much for hosting us.

Great stay

Awesome stay. 5 guys came down here. Had plenty of room we all had are own beds. Pool was great when it got a little warm outside. The property was awesome lots of things to do and places to hang out. Beach was a short 2 min walk. No houses behind or next door just accross the street so we weren’t worried about keeping people up when we were hanging out in back. When the pool guy came to check on the pool and make sure things were working he was very nice and told us about some awesome things to see and do. Fantastic place to stay couldn’t be happier. We will definitely stay here again when we come back with are families!!!!!

Great place to stay

Spacious, great views

Beautiful home, wonderful views to wake up to. The host helped us set up everything, including the golf cart which we used to get to town. The only issue was a leaking toilet.

Great but far away

We overall really enjoyed our stay in the house. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with any equipment needed to make a meal or cocktails. Any issues were resolved promptly by the property managers. The pool was very cold and the mosquitoes were so bad that we did not use the pool or yard at all. The sand fleas were also bad. The house is 3.5 miles south of San Pedro. They had organized a golf cart to be picked up and delivered at the house which is a necessity. It took about 20 min golf cart ride to get to the edge of town and 30 min to get to the restaurants on the beach. Once you leave San Pedro, the dirt roads were very rough and it took a long time to navigate them. Even though we were pleased with the house, all six people agreed that we would stay somewhere closer to town next time because of the 2 hours a day we took getting back and forth into town each day. We would go in the morning for breakfast and walking around and then at night for activities.

Perfect house for family vacay

This house was a great fit for our group. The three bedrooms were awesome and having two Bathrooms was convenient. The beach was less than 5 minutes walking distance. We had a tour pick us up right at a pier across the street versus having to go to town. As the other reviews note the distance is a good 20 minutes away but there are some stores and fruit stands closer. The pool was so great too for our 4 children but much colder than the ocean! Loved it!

Great house, obnoxious mosquitos

We loved Casa Pura Vida. It was spacious, clean, and a fun setting for a tropical vacation. The yard had a wonderful outdoor covered patio with a brick oven, grill, chairs and table, a pool with lounge chairs, and volleyball court. The problem was the mosquitoes were so bad that we spent very little time in the yard. The appliances all worked well, and it had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. The air conditioning in the bedrooms made sleeping much more comfortable. The only other drawback is that the house is about 3 miles south of town, and about 2 miles of that is a dirt road with many ruts and potholes. Consequently, a golf cart rental is must, and you have to plan ahead when you go into town because it is not convenient to travel back and forth to the house and town. Overall we had a great experience in Casa Pura Vida. Sylvia, the property manager, was very helpful with arranging transportation and other activities.

Our stay at San Pedro

We had a very relaxing yet adventurous time on our 12 day vacation we ventured into town daily did a few tours and enjoyed the road side food distributors who made delicious food at a very reasonable price. We found it fairly expensive unless you purchased products made in Belize but to our surprise the products were very good. We enjoyed the warm temperatures and people of Belize great time.

Lovely home was perfect for our family

We've been coming to Ambergris every Year for last 5 years with our family, and this was our favorite vacation house yet! The house was beautiful with beds for everyone. And the outdoor space with pool, volleyball, outdoor kitchen & grill was perfect for family play & entertaining. Only reason for not 5 stars is it is not beachfront was the pretty ocean is just across the 'street'. We'll definitely rent this house again!
