If you’re looking to spend a month or more in Palm Springs to enjoy the warm, relaxing desert climate, this fully restored midcentury modern home is the perfect retreat. Located in the desirable Sunmor neighborhood less than two miles from the restaurants, shops, museums, and excitement of downtown, it’s situated on a corner lot and affords unobstructed views of the often snow-covered San Jacinto Mountains from its spacious, grassy backyard and large swimming pool. Lounge chairs, a nearly new Weber gas grill, vintage and modern patio furniture, citrus trees, and 31 majestic fan palms complete this outdoor escape.

Designed by the architectural team of Palmer & Krisel and built in 1958 by Alexander Construction, this home has been fully updated inside and tastefully decorated with a combination of vintage and modern furnishings. The open living space includes a cozy sitting area with a large flat screen television, a fully equipped kitchen that will please even serious cooks, and a dining area that can easily seat 8 or 10 people. Off the home’s main hallway are three bedrooms, including a master suite and adjacent bathroom with tub and shower, plus a second bathroom with a glass-enclosed stall shower, all newly updated and spotlessly clean.

This home is currently being offered for a minimum stay of 1 month and rent includes cable TV, internet, and all utilities except for gas to heat the pool, which is optional.

We had the best 4 weeks in Palm Springs at 31 Palms. Everything was, as or better than, described on Homeaway. I couldn't have asked for a nicer vacation. We loved the home a lot and the home owner is lovely to deal with.

Second time just as good

This was our second time and we hope to come back. Love the pool and hot tub, great kitchen and ample supplies. Walked to farmers market and vintage market. Everything clean and comfortable and David, the owner, was in close communication. Be sure to go to the new Agua Caliente cultural center.

Another Blissful Stay at 31 Palms

This was our second stay at 31 Palms, this time for six weeks. We adore this classic Alexander house with its fabulous backyard, pool and a gorgeous view of Mt. San Jacinto (no wires!). We loved sitting at the edge of the verdant lawn and watching the sunsets with a cocktail. David and Francis are wonderful and responsive hosts. We will miss staying at 31 Palms as they are going to be using it more often. While we have found another house in another neighborhood, 31 Palms and the Sunmor neighborhood will always have a special place in our hearts.

Fantastic oasis

This house was everything we hoped for and more! The owners were gracious and helpful when needed. The pool was great for swimming. Plenty of shade and privacy. Furnishings were comfortable and everything exceptionally clean and well-maintained.

A beautiful home in Palm Springs!

Thanks to David and Francis for creating a warm and welcoming desert respite. The house is immaculate, well stocked, and completely comfortable. The pool, spa, and gardens were lovely. The entire experience for our family and friends was top notch. Five stars. We cannot wait to return!

Best home away from home ever!

Charming mid-century modern. The photos for the listing are accurate - what you see is what you get. The house is super well equipped, you don't need to bring a thing. Fantastic lot. Great pool, outdoor fire pit, bocce ball court, hammock, this place has it all. We stayed for 9 weeks and didn't want to leave. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. We can't wait to go back.

Fantastic Back Yard/Pool Area

31 Palms has an excellent outdoor space with a pool, spa, and fire pit. It was a wonderful place to spend time outside enjoying the sun! The house is clean and well cared for, and the owners were a pleasure to communicate with.

Amazing home/great host

Had a wonderful stay at Sunmor. The yard has everything you would want for a Palm Springs getaway. Beautiful palm trees, views of the mountains, pool and jacuzzi, wonderful grass and an outdoor grill. There is also a hammock and bocce ball court. Everything is in great condition. The inside of the house is great too and it has a great layout for spending time with friends and cooking meals together. David and Francis are wonderful hosts - very responsive and thoughtful. Great place to stay.

Awesome Home

My partner and I love this house, the beautiful property and pool, and the friendly mid-century modern neighborhood which each year seems to get prettier and prettier. There's a terrific pride of place amongst the homeowners in this district. Everyone puts a lot of effort and care into the appearance too their homes and desert landscaping. I thoroughly enjoyed our almost 3 month long stay here.

Everything we hoped for ... and more!

We had hoped for mid-century modern house with a 21st century touch and that is just what we found. David was there to greet us on arrival and to show us where everything was to be found. The house was perfect for four (and occasionally six) people. it was very well furnished and equipped. We are British, so we did find it necessary to buy a teapot to add to the equipment! The weather during our stay was not very good (for Palm Springs), so we didn't spend as much time in the garden as we might have otherwise done - but we did use the excellent outdoor grill quite frequently. We would certainly hope to stay in this house again in years to come. Thank you so much David and Francis for having such a wonderful house. Roger & Monica
