About this property

TITANIA-Luxurious Holidays by the Pool at IL Giardino Segreto Di Prospero

TITANIA is 1 out of 4 residences of IL GIARDINO SEGRETO DI PROSPERO. The other 3 residences are ARIEL, PUCK and OBERON (also listed herein).IL GIARDINO SEGRETO DI PROSPERO is a newly built traditional Corfiot 3-stories pool-mansion over-looking Ipsos bay situated in a 7000 sqm estate amidst a centuries-old olive grove. TITANIA is in the middle floor of the mansion, ARIEL is on top. OBERON and PUCK are on the ground floor. TITANIA is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom fully equipped with all modern appliances luxury residence overlooking Ipsos bay on the North-East coast of Corfu, an area of great interest, for the many beaches as well as for its interior which is dominated by Pantokrator Mountain.
In Pantokrator there are the two highest peaks of Corfu, the Pantokrator at an altitude of 915 meters in the east and Stravoskadi at 890 meters a couple of miles to the west. Many small mountain villages which keep their traditional beauty intact, with very few inhabitants, almost untouched by progress and time. They are Spartilas, Strynilas closer to the top and many more.
Perithea is an abandoned medieval village, hidden among mountain peaks, so that pirates could not find it.
In recent years, the village has been reborn, taverns and other small shops have been created in renovated old traditional houses, here the stone dominates as the main building material.
So, they are ideal destinations for those who prefer a quieter holiday in calm clear waters.
In the northern part, the most developed tourist resort is Kassiopi, a historic village that existed since antiquity.
Here was a theater visited by Nero and a large fortress, whose remnants are still preserved.
Here is also the area of the Erimitis, a pristine expanse of paradise beaches which is going to be sold and destroyed because this is implied by the memoranda.
To the north there is Corfu`s second lagoon of Antivioti, which is a great wetland.
East of Antinioti the beach of Agios Spyridon Karniaris.
South of Kassiopi the beaches of the area are multifarious, small bays mainly with pebbles and locations not very developed, many small seaside locations with many tavernas and crystal clear waters, such as Agios Stefanos, Kerasia, Kouloura, Kalami, Agni, Krouzeri, Kaminaki, Nissaki, Barbati, dozens of small and beautiful sceneries scattered within the manifold bays, each with its own uniqueness – all these forming the area of the old Sinies.
The area from Pyrgi to the city of Corfu is touristy developed and includes large tourist resorts with large hotel units up to 5 stars.
Below on the east coast the famous tourist resorts Ipsos, Dassia one of the oldest tourist areas on the island and finally Gouvia with the large homonymous yacht marina…….
It should also be noted that in the area of Tzavros there is the General Hospital of Corfu, a state-of-the-art building, unfortunately without the necessary staffing specifically for medical staff.
Ipsos Corfu Resort and Long Pebble Beach.
Ipsos lies in a large bay a few miles north of Corfu town, at the foot of Mount Pantocrator, Corfu’s highest peak.
9 km north to Corfu town, it is a lively resort, with water sports and a diving school, and dolphins are often spotted frolicking out at sea. At the southern end is a small harbour with fishing boats and boats for hire, and if you walk inland from here there is the small village of Analypsis.
The bars, tavernas and shops are all on one side of the main road to the north, with the beach on the other side.
At the northern end Ipsos joins the small village of Pyrghi, it is hard for the visitor to know where one begins and the other ends!
There are many well established bars and tavernas here, people return year after year to their favourites, and it stays lively even in winter.
On the lower slopes of the hill, near Ipsos, are the beautiful villages of Ano Korakiana and Ag. Markos. The latter was abandoned years ago but is being brought back to life gradually, its old houses re-emerging from the ivy and undergrowth which has hidden them.
Gouvia and the Corfu Yachting Marina.
Gouvia is set on a large bay has long been a popular holiday resort, but it now has an added attraction- the island’s largest marina, always bustling with yachts of all sizes from many nations. This means that a large selection of bars and tavernas have sprung up, offering plenty of choice for visitors.
The remains of the Venetian arsenal can be seen on the water’s edge, it was an excellent harbor for their ships, and an aircraft hangar across the bay is a reminder that in more recent times flying boats stopped here.
Opposite Gouvia is the peninsula of Kommeno, with a little whitewashed church is on an islet, reached by a causeway.
Dassia Corfu Resort: Europe’s First Club Mediterranee.
Dassia, 1km osuth ofIpsos on the road to Corfu town, was the site of Europe’s first Club Mediterranee, its promontory now empty and awaiting development by its new owners.
The sand and shingle beach is popular with families, as it is fringed with hotels, tavernas and bars catering for every taste. Swimming is very safe as the beach shelves gently into the sea, and there are also plenty of water sports to be enjoyed.
Along the road which is back from the seafront there are many more shops and bars, and a short walk inland brings you to the Corfu branch of the National Art Gallery, in the grounds of one of Corfu’s grandest mansions.
There are also some very attractive villages and walks which can be enjoyed without too much exertion, as it is relatively flat.
The Beaches at Erimitis. Erimitis area is the Northeastern tip of Corfu island, very close to Albanian shores.
It starts from Agios Stefanos area in the East and stretches up to Kassiopi borders at the North coast.
An unspoiled paradise full of small cute coves separated by small promontories that give a beautiful scenery to the landscape.
Every cove here is a small pebble beach of unique beauty, all of which are isolated and can be visited only by the sea.
Starting from Kassiopi and go to the east we find the following cute tiny beaches: Avlaki, Vouvalomantria beach, Vrachli beach, Tzoufakia, the Arias beach, Akoli, Vromolimni, Kaminakia beach, Korfovounia, Aspalathras and Xylokeratia beach.
Let`s note that all these beaches are pebble and no sand, the waters are extremely clear and clean.
Avlaki is the biggest beach of the area, close to Kassiopi and in visual contact with it.
It is separated into two parts, the west and the east Avlaki which is much smaller.
On the east side of the west Avlaki there is another small lake behind it which sometimes dries out.
There are some houses and apartments on the west part of the beach, the busier of all, as it is easy accessible by road.
Akoli beach is one of the few beaches of the area reachable by foot through a small path. The name is due to the lake behind the beach which believed to be very deep. Although the lake in reality is not deep, the name means literally “bottomless”, α-κωλη, in Greek this is from the deprivation α = χωρίς(without), and the word κώλος, in ancient Greek κώλος means bottom, (while in modern Greek means ass). In this case the word has the ancient meaning and means bottomless, used for deep seas or lakes.
Paleokastritsa: The Beautiful Corfu Resort. Paleokastritsa is located a little further north of the center of the island on the west coast and is about 25 km far from Corfu town. It is not only of the most beautiful places of Corfu but also of the Ionian islands. Paleokastritsa, has been called the jewel of Corfu, set on a number of bays separated by small promontories. In the settlement`s area there are three beaches, separated by round-shaped capes, on the eastern beach there is a small harbor, the Alipa port, suitable for small yachts, speed, and fishing boats. From this port you can hire a boat to visit the neighboring isolated beaches and remote caves south of Paleokastritsa. Paleokastritsa is green, yes but the whole Corfu is green after all, so what makes this place so memorable? Definitely is the beautiful shape of the seaside with the capes and beaches in between, 6 in total, and the spectacular view from the hills above the resort from the village of Lakones. Beaches are fully organized, especially the central beach called Agios Spiridon with sun beds with umbrellas, water sports, taxi boats, motor boats, and canoes for rent. There are many tavernas and bars strung out along the road, some on the hillside, and others on the water’s edge.
On the headland farthest out to the sea is the beautiful 12th century monastery of Theotokos, still working and occupied by cat-loving monks, and containing the famous icon of the Virgin in its church.
In this church also, the remains(bones) of a whale who extinct long ago on the rocks under the monastery, are kept inside a large glass box.The view from the village on the hill above Paleokastritsa, Lakones, is stunning, and many visitors walk up the old donkey trail which goes between the two villages, and some go on up into the hills above, exploring the inland villages of Krini and Makrades. A gentler walk would take you south to the village of Liapades, one of Corfu’s oldest and prettiest, where life seems to go on in the same way as it has for centuries. Around Paleokastritsa and particularly to the south there are many secluded beaches, hardly accessible or even isolated. These are the hidden beaches of Corfu, all beaches with fine pebbles and some sand with crystal emerald clear waters, without tourist development, here you can discover the exotic beauty of Corfu.

**Starting January 1, 2024, a new Greek tax was introduced which is called the "Climate Crisis Resilience Charge", requiring a fee of EUR1.5 per night. The amount needs to be paid in cash upon your arrival at the villa.

Delightful villa
This is a beautiful villa well-situated close to Ispos Beach but away from the tourist strip. It is well equipped and nicely furnished. We had a very enjoyable stay. We had a couple of minor issues but the manager was very responsive. Internet connection was poor but this is, I suspect, an issue for Corfu generally rather than the property. Hot water is solar only, so a hot shower first thing in the morning was not possible. But these were minor things which did not detract from the stay.
