Hi David! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We loved hosting you at Forest View Lodge, and hope you will return!
My friends and I had a wonderful, no-hassle weekend at this beautiful and spacious home. I was so impressed by the cleanliness - As an Oregon resident myself, I don't know how they keep a two story living room made of logs spiderweb-free, but it was flawless. Beds were comfortable and the back porch is a delightful place to unwind among the tall trees and ferns.

Checking in was a bit chaotic but it worked out. Kitchen was amazing the Bosch appliances were awesome! Hot tub under the stars was divine. Beds were so comfortable. TV's were a bit difficult to get going but we figured it out after a couple of days. Very close to the Salmon river trail head for fishing and hiking.

We had all the kids and grandkids at the cabin for a family vacation and had a wonderful time hiking and seeing the sites. The only complaint would be that the WiFi was terrible but it kept everyone off their devices

Hi Esther, we are so glad your enjoyed your multi-generational family gathering at the Forest View Lodge and that everyone found a way to keep busy without their devices. You are correct, the wifi signal is very weak at this location. This is the best service available on the road where the cabin is located and with trees and mountains blocking the view, satellite Internet is not even available. We recommend the Forest View Lodge for people who can live with limited Internet connections during their vacation. We are happy to know everything else worked out well for you.

Beautiful property, bonus slugs for critter-lovers
My friends and I had a lovely weekend at the cabin. Rooms, kitchen, and hot tub were great! We also had fun slug-questing outside of the house, and we spotted a few deer during our stay. We'd love to come back!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you found the house clean, though we’re sorry to hear about the condition of the steps and the temperature differences throughout the home. We’ll pass this along to our team for review, as your comfort is very important to us. We value your booking and hope to provide you with a more polished stay in the future.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The GPS brought us first to an entrance gate that was clearly not actively in use, so we had to back up and go just a bit down the way to the correct entrance gate, after that is was all great. The home is beautiful, spacious, quiet and the there is a little store in Welches just a 5 minute drive away for your last minute needs such as milk, bread, etc. Would stay here again for sure.

Beautifully situated on a secluded area. Perfect for my work group. Master suite is palatial while the basement rooms are simple (beds are very squeaky) but overall great and the hot tub is great!

Fabulous vacation with our family
The place needs some help. Some salt for the front steps, dryer did not work, basketball court is green with mold and no working basketball, very hot upstairs, dirty sheets in downstairs bedroom, and some lighting out by hot tub. We didn’t call management because we were busy most days and didn’t want someone besides our family in the house. The entrance into the master bath is a lawsuit just waiting to happen We had a great time because we were all together, but very upset about this house.

Quiet log cabin
Felt like a log cabin. Liens we're clean and house was clean when arrived. Basketballs we're deflated and old but one was alright. Could be an amazing property with a little TLC
Wasn't very remote, close to town. Road next to highway.
Property wasn't really upkept. Old satellites in back yard, driveway had a big hole, broken bridge and porch. Stairs weren't sturdy, nails sticking out, tvs and dvds had issues, no foosball table like advertised. Planter boxes were fallen off the porch and weeds everywhere . Limited cleaning supplies available.
Arrangement with kids rooms on main level was a little off. Would expect kids to be close to adult bedrooms so we didn't feel comfortable leaving the little ones on main floor alone.

Hi Kelsey! We enjoyed hosting you and your family; however, we are sorry to hear you were not fully satisfied with your stay. Please know that you can always contact us with any concerns or needs. Had we been notified during your stay, we would have gladly sent our local team over to address some of these issues. We value your feedback and would like to share that we are updating the description of the game room, and maintenance is addressing the the outdoor area. We do hope we have the opportunity to to provide you with a better rental experience in the future.
The cabin is a great property - as pretty and isolated as the pictures make it look. It's lovely, quiet, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. There are several caveats, however.
The place looked great when we arrived, but it's clear that there is a need for some regular maintenance to be done. The front stairs creak ominously on every step, and while sturdy, simply doing minor maintenance (pressure-washing and using screws instead of nails) would make them solid and silent.
A myriad of minor issues like this kept nagging. Upon lifting a cushion that slid forward, the sofa had old potato chips and children's markers under the pillow. The thermostat has been cracked in several places -- it still works, but cosmetically looks terrible.
And then there were the things that needed to be modernized -- the outdoor speakers around the hot tub are connected to a stereo system precisely like the one I owned -- in the 1990s. And, like that system, it doesn't work at all. There are no radio stations and a five-disc CD changer filled with titles that won't read. So no music while soaking in the hot tub. We ended up using it once.
While we only booked for two people, I would at least have expected a few extra hot tub towels. We had planned to have some friends in the area visit, but we only got two towels.
The washing machine is broken. It does not advance cycles. (Discovered by a tub of wet soapy clothes.)
The internet is almost non-existent, and there are no TV channels or radio.

Hi Jeffrey! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Forest View Lodge; however, we are sorry you encountered a few issues. We appreciate your feedback, and will share your comments with our local team. We do see you called about the internet - which unfortunately was being affected by the fires - but no mention of needing extra hot tub towels or that the washing machine wasn't working. We would have gladly dropped off extra towels or had our maintenance come by to check out the washing machine. We loved hosting you, and do hope we have the opportunity to host you again!
We had a great time making memories here. We loved how spacious the house was and that the kids Could play outside on the snow. The only few things I would change would be adding more blankets, having DVD players that work on all the TV’s, and the internet was non existent (which meant you couldn’t use your phone, but there was ONE landline phone for emergencies).

We are glad that you enjoyed your visit to the Forest View Lodge. Unfortunately, there are many locations in the Mt Hood area that do not have access to high speed Internet and this is one of them. We list the Internet speed on all of our property pages, so you can check that next time to make sure you are in a location with faster wifi. We know it is frustrating; many of our employees live in those locations, too. And this happens to be a location where cell phones do not get a good signal, either.
Betsy at Mt Hood Vacation Rentals
The home was beautiful and spacious. The upstairs bedroom/loft was a great getaway space for the parents. The kitchen was spacious and accommodating. Some dishes were dirty in the cabinets so I had to rewash before use. The main level bunk room was not pictured but was roomy with a walk-in closet for the kids. Downstairs was great for the kids to take their "excited voices". They have a selection of boards games that we gladly used! Overall a great experience!
