Welcome to Aqua Vista, a 2-Bedroom 2 bath island style home located on the Banks Road south of Governors Harbour. Aqua Vista sits directly on a mile-long pink-sand beach, and has a private beach deck right on the dune. The shallow waters with sandy bottom allow for many entry points to enjoy the warm turquoise water for swimming or just wading waist deep and taking in the breathtaking views.

Enjoy the stunning Atlantic views from everywhere in your home as the layout of the interior allows every room to have a view. Take a stroll down from your spacious patio to the beachfront deck and enjoy a more up close and personal connection with the waves. The water in front of Aqua Vista provide s guests a unique snorkeling experience with endless shallow reefs teaming with aquatic life.

The ocean-view kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator/freezer, electric range and oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

The great room has spectacular ocean views. It is furnished with chairs, a sofa bed that can sleep two, and a flat screen TV.

Both bedrooms have a queen bed, an ocean view, and an en-suite full bath. One bedroom also has a sofa bed that can sleep 1 adult or two children.

Amenities include WIFI, AC, washer/dryer, TV but no cable, board games, bocci ball, charcoal BBQ, back-up generator, outdoor shower, back-up water tank and two paddle boards.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A HOUSE UNDER CONSTRUCTION ON THE PARCEL OF LAND NEXT DOOR TO AQUA VISTA.

The town of Palmetto Point is just a mile away. Palmetto Point is home to the popular Mate and Jenny's restaurant, as well as several stores. La Bougainvillea Resort with its excellent restaurant and bar is also just a mile away. Tippy's beachfront restaurant is a 5-minute drive.

A ten-minute drive takes you into Governors Harbor, the main town on the island. Governors Harbor has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbor has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbor, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Beautiful

Amazing stay at aqua vista. Stayed for 8 nights in April for our fourth trip to the island. Very clean (in fact the only time we have stayed in Eleuthera and didn’t see a single ant inside), great central location for easy access to north and south beaches. Atlantic breeze keeps the no seeums away. Would definitely return.

Just what we needed!

We were very happy with our visit to Buena Vista. The ocean right out front was beautiful. We had everything we needed in the house which was comfortable and close to restaurants and anything we needed. We would stay here again!

Amazing Oceanfront House

This place was amazing!! We hated leaving the house for exploring because the house was so nice and wonderful to stay in. Our caretaker Charles was awesome and so helpful with everything! Even though we experienced some rough weather everything else was still amazing during our stay! Highly recommend staying here and highly recommend Charles!!

The kitchen was nice. The living area was comfortable and had great views. I especially liked having my coffee on the patio and watching the sun rise.The beach was quite lovely. The house is very care worn and needs some tlc. It needs new ice trays and more kitchen towels. Charles, the caretaker is great. The cistern emptied our second day, and he arrived and had it filled.

The housekeeper was very engaged and friendly. He even gave us 2 pineapples as a present. It was probably the most beautiful spot on that beach. However there were sharks almost every time we went swimming and snorkeling close to the beach. People told us not to worry but we preferred swimming at the Caribbean side of the island. I still would recommend the place because it is so beautiful.

The house itself is functional, but a little tired. When we were there there was construction of a big new house 50 feet away. This was noisy and cut into our privacy. I don't know how they'll creat a sense of privacy once the new property is ready. I might recommend this property, though it seemed a little expensive.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself was ok. It was not as clean as I would have liked it and kitchen and bathrooms need updating. Pots and pans are useless, everything sticks. A nonstick griddle would be nice. The water shut off many times, twice while someone was in the shower. The caretaker was quick to resolve but got annoying. The beach is lovely but the water is too rocky to enjoy. Had to beach hop each day.

Nice location very quiet.

We enjoyed our stay overall. We wanted seclusion and we certainly got that. Nothing really within walking distance to do. We recommend owner supply a couple cheap bikes to use to get to restaurants. House is aging and needs work. Bathrooms are old. The deck by the ocean is falling apart. Broken stairs with large rusted nails, broken floor boards, no big deck umbrella. Some nice improvements include really great outdoor furniture at house and a great tv was added. New pics of house should be taken. Overall its nicer than the pics suggest but still, some work is needed. Caretakers Charlie assisted by Erika were both AMAZING!! Great people and our stay was near perfect because of them. The people on the island are wonderful. We did take a long walk to a restaurant/hotel a few miles away. Wonderful meal. The water is rough. I liked that better than soft bay water but I think the paddle boards are useless given how rough the water is. Maybe kayaks would be better. Definitely recommend bikes. Was disappointed though with the issue the island was experiencing with water. Water pressure for town water and the cistern was very low. Worst Ive ever experienced in any bahamas or caribbean island ive visited. 4 out of 5 stars.

It was so wonderful that we extended our stay for an additional 4 days...until we absolutely had to be back for work!The home is beautiful, comfortable, superbly located on Banks Road in North Palmetto Point, on the longest, most beautiful and walkable beach. The hosts provided so many helpful items - life jackets, inflation pumps, insect repellent, freezer bags, books, puzzles, a surfboard, lots of cooking utensils etc. The caretaker, George Bowleg, went above & beyond to insure that we had everything we needed, even arranging for a tow truck (and driving us back to our "home" at Aqua Vista) when we got stuck in the sand exploring beaches. He is a wealth of information about Eleuthera, and is very generous with his time.The home had a generator, so I can't even tell you if we ever "lost power" while there. The internet was down for about 10 minutes, which we were able to quickly correct with the old fashioned unplug and restart the modem/router - just like we do at home in the US.Location was perfect, don't be intimidated by the road; Banks Rd truly is the "golden mile." So close to La Bougainvilla, Unique, Tippy's, Buccanner, etc. for dining. The owners are wonderful, the caretaker is gracious, the home is clean and inviting, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher...all seem almost new.Paddleboards, towels, candles, and delicious pineapples courtesy of George Bowleg. Beautiful deck on the ocean with chairs, umbrellas, etc. Outdoor patio is huge with full sofa, several chairs, grill, etc. Lovely. And... surprisingly.. almost zero problems with noseeums..maybe because of the lovely Atlantic Ocean breeze...and we were there in late June 23.Do NOT hesitate to book this wonderful property. Great house and location

We chose the same general area because being centrally located is very convenient for day trips north or south, which I recommend. Beach exploration and sightseeing are a couple of our favorite things to do, especially looking for sea glass-which this area is known for. Great things about the house: Charles, the caretaker, gets first mention. He was incredibly kind by having us a pineapple, eggs, and water already at the house. BEST pineapple I’ve ever eaten!! He is always willing to help and answer questions. Next, the house has lots of “extras”-books, games, binoculars, generator, AWESOME BEACH BOOK, snorkel mask, flippers, swim masks, water shoes, beach chairs, surf/paddle boards, tiki umbrella, beach umbrella, great outdoor seating and furniture, large water dispenser, beautiful decor and furnishings, amazing ocean view and beach access. If you’ve never been to the island, be prepared for rough roads and the power goes out frequently so a generator is a MUST!! At the beginning of our stay the power was out for 20 hours straight but the generator kept going! There are occasional water issues so I would have water stored up to flush or bathe, catch rain water for this. They have a bucket outside. The only issues I had with this house would be it needs a little freshening up on the building itself. However, I do understand the difficulty in maintaining a home while battling weather conditions and cost. Cleaning crew needs to spend a few more minutes on their job. Overall, the extras won me over and I would stay here again!!

Being able to walk on the beach right past the quaint back yard was exactly what we were looking for. Complete privacy as the houses flanking the land were distant enough to not cross paths. We encountered very few people during our stay. The ocean was gorgeous for swimming, though they were quite a few rock shelves on the shoreline. The house is comfortable, bright and spacious. The kitchen is laid out well, though could use more cooking tools and new knives (the ones available were quite useless). We barely used the a/c during our stay as the house remains cool, ceiling fans were plenty to keep us cool. Charles was incredibly helpful and promptly answered all questions and needs. He even graciously got us some groceries as our flight was super delayed. The beds could use better pillows to sleep. Overall it was a lovely stay. The owner & Charles even got us a pack and play for our 20 month old baby! The location of the house is really great as it is 8 minutes from the Island Farm stand which we love, also the road is well kept along the way.

Nice home right on beach

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house manager Charles went above and beyond to fix our water issue. We didn't hv water for 2 days due to the one side of cistern being empty. Charles came and fixed the problem as soon as he could figure it out! We also met the other people who take care of the property....Ericka and Scott. They stopped by to see if we needed anything and were some of the nicest people only! The only other hiccup we had was the wifi. There was none after 2-3 days. Our 2 teenagers weren't thrilled, but my husband and I could care less about this. We came to get away from everything and this was a great place to do it! I definitely think Charles needs a raise!!! Before I delve into our experience with the home/property, I want to highlight the excellent customer service we received from Kristin Tornow of Eleuthera Vacation . She was a delight to deal with; by far the best customer service I’ve ever experienced in over a decade of renting vacation homes, domestically and abroad. Aqua Vista is ideally located, mid-island, directly on the beach on the Atlantic side of the island. The setting truly is gorgeous, with sublime views of pink sand beach and the turquoise blue ocean, speckled with coral heads and barrier reefs.The Aqua Vista house is a treasure. It’s modernly appointed and spacious, with tall ceilings and an open central floor plan. The house is perfectly sized and offers incredible views from every room in the house, with plenty of privacy and space from any neighboring properties. The house is also well equipped with everything needed for the week. The kitchen contains plenty of cookware, utensils, and glasses/plates so we could prepare meals easily. In addition, the house is connected to a generator that kicks on in the event of a power outage.Of special note is the property’s caretaker, Charles. This man is top-shelf quality property management! He is a genuinely outstanding individual; incredibly nice, attentive, and endlessly helpful! From the moment we arrived, he was there to show us around the place and make sure that all our needs were met.On our next visit, we will absolutely rent at Aqua Vista again! What a cherished experience!
