The location of this villa is ideal for exploring the island and for anyone arriving late by flight. The villa itself is stunning, spotless with amazing views and lots of space. My daughter loved the pool and we spent most of our week in it. Already wanting to book again. Thank you.

superb choice for a family holiday
Fantastic views over the airport and the sea. The villa is set right in the heart of the sleepy village of Sarlata so was very peaceful and relaxing. Car hire is a must to get around as up on the hill and the major supermarkets are just a short drive away but there is a lovely little local shop just around the corner. The villa was very well equipped with everythng you need to make the holiday home from home in the sun. We had a truly enjoyable stay and
were sad to leave.
When staying here a trip up to Assos and Myrtos beach is truly a must as we had some great snorkelling there. The kayaking trip was a must too. We hope to return again in the future.

We had a great week at this villa - 9 of us in total. The pool was great - view from balcony on top for breakfast was fab. The area was lovely and quiet. A car is needed to get food and get around more. We enjoyed the Acropolis restaurant - with Greek dancing which was good fun! Really handy for aeroport and we loved plane spotting but wasn’t noisy at all. One tip is don’t click on map on listing to get there as it takes you to wrong villa 20 mins into mountains!! The villa had everything we needed and more- DVD’s, beach toys, pool inflatables, pool table, darts, lovely welcome pack and mid week maid visit was great. Lovely to have clean sheets half way through the week. Overall a lovely place - we would love to go back one day!

Perfect!
What a find! Villa Margaret Rose really has it all - exceptional accommodation, a stunning setting and an ideal location for exploring Kefalonia - I can't recommend it highly enough. The villa makes a luxurious home from home, with every last detail thought of, and is beautifully maintained and cleaned by the most friendly, helpful team of people - Doug and Suzanne make wonderful managers, a real addition to a superb holiday base. We loved it.
You will need a car - and confidence with a clutch for the rather steep driveway! - but having two excellent beaches nearby at Ammes and Avithos, some great tavernas (eating by the beach at Avithos was sheer paradise), and Argostoli within 15 mins is a definite plus. The sandy local beaches are among the best we found - especially for kids - while further afield the harbour towns of Assos and Fiscardo are a must, and the drive to Lourdata and Sami offers up some breathtakingly lovely views as it winds through some magical Greek villages. Melissani and Drogorati Cave are also well worth a visit.
The Jenners couldn't have been more helpful, even phoning to let us know where shops would be open on the Sunday we arrived - and were great when we realised we'd left our son's teddy caught up in bedding! Our kids (9 & 13) made extremely good use of the pool (and the pool table!), and Steve and Jan really had thought of everything - even a good selection of DVDs and games. You really can trust this site – there are no clever photography tricks or flowery fibs here, this villa does exactly what it says on the tin.
The proximity to the airport did worry me before we arrived, but once there it really isn't that noticeable - the island doesn't seem to get that many flights - so don't let that put you off. Kefalonia is a truly lovely Greek island to explore as it isn't quite so touristy as some of the others and it does do beauty like no other.
In fact, if I have to come up with a negative, it would be that we had to leave and come home. I will definitely be booking again!

An extremely well kept and comfortable villa
The villa is located on the hillside village of Sarlata, just a short hop from the airport. A beautifully kept and very well equipped holiday home with amazing views of the sea and surrounding countryside. A handy local shop is only a few paces up the road for essentials if needed. Larger shops and bars / restaurants are located just down the hill. The villa was regularly cleaned for us and the pool guy came in every other day to keep the pool clean / topped up, ( but you wouldn't know he was there as respected our privacy ).
Kefalonia I feel is one of the best of the Greek Islands we've been to. The whole place has an air of relaxation, and nothing is too much trouble from shopkeepers to bar staff. All in all, an excellent holiday made better by the amazing place we stayed in. Many thanks to the owners, we'll definitely be back.

A fabulous villa on a beautiful Greek Island
We recently spent a most enjoyable week on the beautiful island of Kefalonia staying at the wonderful Villa Margaret Rose.
The villa was just as described and was very clean and well maintained. It is equipped with everything that you need and the air conditioning was particularly welcome! We spent days around the beautiful pool area then had barbecues in the evenings, the area is just great for sitting and chatting and watching the sun go down.
A car is a must really as the villa is in a quiet village but there are beaches and tavernas within a 10 minute drive. We loved the beach bar at Avithos beach for an early evening drink watching the sun set then dinner in one of the 2 tavernas right by the beach. We would highly recommend visiting these. A trip across the island is a must as the scenery is beautiful.
We felt that a week was not enough to see everything so plan to visit again and would definitely stay at this villa, maybe with friends or family next time.

Perfect villa. High quality
A really great quality villa in a great location. Exceeded our expectations. Villa is of very good quality, from amount of space, the furniture and decoration, standard of cleanliness and great bedrooms with quality linen, you need have no doubts around Villa Margaret Rose.
We arrived late evening, it's 5 mins drive from the airport at most. A helpful welcome to get you going before you do any shopping...
Villa has everything you will needs for a relaxing stay...we didn't need to add anything other than food and ourselves. Two kitchens do help, one top floor and one on ground floor, although we eventually only ever used the one at pool level as we were based down there the whole time. Pool area is very pretty with the trees and flowers, plenty of sun from early til late and a helpful shaded area for relaxing or eating too.
Plenty of places within a 10 mins drive of the villa, we ate out most evenings in local places, our favourites being the tavernas on the beach at Avithos, around 5 mins away. Useful shop for basics around 1 min walk from villa itself.
Good location, with a car we made it to most places around the island and of course a must would be Myrtos beach, Assos and of course stunningly chic Fiskardo in the north of the island....it's fairly easy to drive the island, although was much higher and hillier than expected......lots of exciting twists and bends...:)
We loved Kefalonia and would have no doubts about returning and staying at Villa Margaret Rose again.

A true home away from home.
Our stay at the villa was absolutely perfect – we really couldn’t ask for anything more from a holiday and we were all distraught at having to leave.
The villa is very well maintained with excellent in-country support who are awalys available when you need them and really help to ease you into your holiday.
The villa itself has everything you could ever need (and much, much more) and the private pool makes the holiday a true luxury.
There are lots of great beaches and eating spots nearby - a rental car is a must but reccommended company Greekstones were extremely affordable and delivered the car to the villa for the ultimate ease.
A local shop in the village is handy for essentials and the people in town are all very friendly.
Thanks to Steve & Jan for a great stay, we very much look forward to returning soon.

What you see in the pics is exactly what you get!
This is a wonderfully equipped and very well thought out villa. It's great for large families, two families or a group of friends to share.
The view from the top balcony is fantastic and a lovely place to sit and eat breakfast in the mornings and to watch the sun come up or with a drink in hand to watch it go down.
The area itself is very peaceful and the local residents and business owners were very friendly indeed. We all particularly enjoyed going for long walks and exploring the area, however this is not for anyone who is mobility challenged and perhaps a car may be a better idea. The area is not flat so anyone who has issues with walking up and down hill may be wise to think carefully about whether this is the right holiday destination for them. Luckily, apart from a couple of blisters this was not a problem for us. Argostoli, Lassi and other towns were just bus ride or taxi journey away.
The villa is very clean, there is plenty of everything to enjoy a day in by the pool and the addition of the second downstairs kitchen a great idea. Any queries or questions we had for the management team at the villa or to the owners was answered swiftly and helpfully.
I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone who was thinking about visiting Kefalonia.

Sunning it up in style
What a fantastic villa and holiday. All the facilities you could want, plenty of space, air conditioning, facilities by the pool and the all important pool. We had a wonderful two weeks. The villa is in a quiet village with great views. The property is well maintained with a friendly management team who were really helpful. We enjoyed the local beaches, lots of time by the pool, morning strolls in Argostoli and a day out to Assos. Try some wine tasting at Gentillini winery on the road towards Lassi. Good selection of DVD's provided which the children enjoyed watching in the evenings. Would recommend this property to all. What a lovely island.

Cosy to start with
We stayed in the villa the summer of 2009 and were realy pleased with it: it does feel like home and the care the owners have taken to decorate is visible everywhere; even a non-English senses the English atmosphere. The owner's own books and DVDs were available... we realy felt welcome, like in a home. The English gentleman taking care of the swimming pool every two days was a very pleasant appearance and so were the local ladies showing up for cleaning (at an incredible speed). Have to say a car is definitely a must and some outstanding driving skills to come with it too, as the parking way is incredibly steep. There is a large selection of terraces in Lassi prety close, Argostoli is also handy and besides that there are great places on the island like Assos and especially Fiskardo - definitely an island worth seeing and probably coming back to.

Villa Margaret Rose, Kefalonia.
This was our third visit to Villa Margaret Rose, that says it all really!
The villa is in a lovely little village in the hills within 5 minutes of the airport, with great views out onto the sea.
There are plenty of restaurants and tavernas within a 5-10 minute drive away, as are some great uncrowded beaches like Avithos.
The island's capital Argostoli is only a 15 minute drive too, and is great for wandering around later in the evening.
The owners have provided everything you could wish for and it really feels like a lot of time, effort and consideration have gone into this property.
The Villa itself is comprised of three levels. The living area being at the top.
Three bedrooms, the main having ensuite are on the middle level. The bottom level is a massive open plan area, comprising of a sleeping area with double bed, which can be screened off a bathroom and a kitchen/utility area which leads out onto the terrace and pool.
The villa is exceptionally well maintained by the local manager and cleaning staff who are an absolute delight to have around, and always willing to help with local advice so you can get the most out of your holiday.
You really need a car to make the most of any holiday in Kefalonia as the island is so beautiful, with so many places to see.
The northern tip of the Island including Assos and Fiscardo are well worth a visit.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone, it really is a home from home.

Would love to come back every year
I stayed in villa margaret rose in September 2009. We found the villa to be immaculate, fantastic views, the pool was a godsend. The villa is located in a perfect location to see the sights the island had to offer. The villa and pool were very well maintained during our stay. The village of Salarta is very peaceful and the locals were very friendly. The villa is very private and i would recommend staying here to any one. Would definately come back.

Good enough to inspire a return visit
2 weeks June 2009
A really nice, conveniently located, modern villa. Close to the airport (yet far enough away) and with fantastic sea views.
Constructed on 3 levels with well appointed accomodation.
The only negative comment is that parking on the narrow road outside the villa is almost inevitable. This is due to the very steep and uneven drive to the property and the huge break-over ramp at the top of the drive. (Probably OK with a 4x4)
A car is a must and the neighbours are very sensitive where parking is concerned. A problem on the first day!
The property was very well presented and ably maintained by a local ex-pat.
The location is ideal, in my view, having convenient access to the capital Argostoli in addition to the wonderful local beaches, bars and restaurants and also as a centre for touring and exploring the island.
The pool and BBQ were welcome assets and the surrounding wooded countryside was home to a variety of birds and other wildlife.
I particularly appreciated the proximity to Argostoli with its harbour, markets, bars and restaurants and the convenient access to the Lixouri peninsular by car ferry.
I have re-booked for 2 visits in 2010 so it must have been pretty good.
