The house was really nice. Very spacious and close to Rt 29. Our host answered questions very promptly. It would be a great place to stay longer and use the wonderful kitchen!
This was a wonderful stay. The cabin and location are beautiful, and arrival and departure and all logistics are easy. It’s relaxing as a small party and seems great for groups - the house and kitchen are very well appointed - and the location is close to trails, breweries, restaurants, and any stores needed for food/drink during the stay. Highly recommend for a range of travelers. Thanks!
This is a beautiful cabin with plenty of room for a larger group. Great kitchen, easy check in process, and comfy beds. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
This a great house. Clean, quiet, and vintage. The kitchen was out of this world. Be sure to bring paper towels and toilet paper. Don't forget the quiet hours when you're booking; there is another apartment underneath the house. Traffic noise was a bit loud at times. The driveway is a tailgaters nightmare - be careful when you pull in and out of the drive. Otherwise, it's quiet, secluded and close to the national Park and all the vineyards. We would definitely stay here again!
This cabin is delightful! Great location and lots of charm. We found it very comfortable, well equipped, and communication was easy. Have discussed returning on another friend’s getaway.
The property is even better than the pictures show. The house is extremely spacious and clean . Communication with our contact was fairly quick. We enjoyed how large the property was
The log cabin is beautiful, beds were all comfortable and linens were very nice. Kitchen was well stocked. All of the windows were very dirty which was disappointing as the views were poor from the windows. And a few cobwebs in several corners.
We had a wonderful time at this property with no issues whatsoever. There were long-term renters in the unit below us and we hardly even knew they were there. Great place, highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay
The cabin was beautiful and very hospitable for us. I had inadvertently missed the note about the quiet time hours and got nervous about disrupting the long term residents in the lower level but it turned out to not have any negative impact during our stay. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials needed to cook your groceries and the layout of the property is very spacious.
Very roomy, spacious interior and exterior! Perfect for a large family with kids. There were lots of bees and some stink bugs and moths. Sent several questions to host that never got a response. Kitchen was large and well stocked. Common areas were large with plenty of seating for everyone. Porches were awesome to enjoy the outdoors. Beds were comfy. Overall, we were very pleased.

Christmas Trip
We were very excited to do something different for our Christmas Holiday. It is definitely off of the beaten path and we loved the rustic look. It was ruined by the number of stink bugs that were everywhere. This was very unfortunate. In addition, upon settling in, we discovered a used sanitary napkins in the unlined bathroom trash can. The water turned cold after a couple of showers. The microwave needs to be replaced. It took 4 minutes just to heat up a plate of food. By the third day, my family was ready to leave due to the stink bugs.

Hi Eric, thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the rustic charm of our property but are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered.
- Stink Bugs: These can be a challenge during colder months despite our ongoing efforts to minimize them.
- Cleanliness: We apologize for the oversight and have addressed it with our cleaning team.
- Hot Water & Microwave: This is the first time we've received feedback regarding these concerns, but we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. We will be upgrading to a new and improved microwave soon and are planning to replace the water heater within the next month.
Your input is valuable, and we’re committed to making improvements. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Nice stay, beautiful home, but a few issues
A nice cabin a little out of the way from Charlottesville. The common areas of the home are clean and well kept. The upstairs however has a bug problem. Numerous stink bugs in every room of the upstairs (bedrooms and bathrooms). Also, not noted in the description of the premise: the basement of the cabin is an apartment that is in use and there are 10 PM quiet hours. We were only made aware of this upon entering the home and reading the welcome board. While we had no problems with the tenants and were in no way unruly after the time mentioned it should definitely be mentioned in the description.

Hi Travis, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The homeowner has asked us to pass along the following message: "The stink bug issue does occur, primarily in the winter. We have since addressed this by taking more aggressive steps now to get this under control. Additionally, we have updated the listing to note the 10 P.M. quiet hours. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve the experience for all of our future guests. Thank you!"
Well maintained older house/cabin. Bedrooms are nicely sized. Beds are comfortable. Indoor relaxation space is immense. Kitchen is stocked with most anything to cook with. The cabin has a full basement, main living level, and upper bedroom level. The lower level has apartments. This seems odd, but we had no interaction with or interference from the permanent tenants. The cabin is located just off a busy road. This makes it easy for driving to activities, but you can also hear the traffic noise when sitting quietly on the porch swing. The local wildlife was entertaining; momma pig made a daily round with her litter, white tail deer were in the adjoining fields, and a goat meanders through the yard. Getting detailed answers is not easy. You are working with a national management company, not the owner. They can’t get to the property, and therefore can’t answer anything other than what is in their database.

Tale of two extremes
It is an absolutely beautiful home—quite isolated. After many communications, we finally got to the property manager who allowed us to checkin one hour early! We had to request gas for the outdoor grill and firewood. Neither were present. The refrigerator had not been cleaned, there was a sock in the bed, a dirty towel in the bathroom, and a bug infestation(one came home in my shoe😬). All four of us are over seventy and the very tippy walking stones are an accident waiting to happen. Today they were also very slippery because of yesterdays rain. There was also a cat hanging out on our porch and car and a barking dog belonging to one of the renters. After all that, the home was very comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen—loved the matching silverware and dishes without chips. Also thought Christmas tree was great. When we finally connected, Natalie was very attentive. C Hutchins

Hi Carol, we're glad you enjoyed the beautiful home, but we're sorry certain aspects of your stay fell short of expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-The safety of our guests will always be our highest priority. While we've never experienced safety issues, we are sorry you had issues with the stones. This was the first time we had heard of such an issue. We greatly appreciate all your insights and thanks for bringing this to our attention. We take pride in our property, and we are working on setting the stones into the ground on schedule to accommodate our future guests
-We apologize we overlooked the propane tank, but sometimes guests leave the propane on accidentally and the tank empties much more quickly than it should. We were glad we could get it refilled for you during your stay and we apologize for the inconvenience
-We sincerely apologize for the pests you experience. Contributing weather and seasonal time of the year can draw them into the home. Always, as an extra measure, we will thoroughly inspect the entire home and treat the property for pest control. Our home cleanliness and comfort are our top priorities, so we took action immediately after hearing from you. We cannot eliminate all bugs that arrive each year but we do our best to ensure our high standards are being met and exceeded
-The cabin is nestled in the woods by farmland so on occasion there may be an animal or two that shows up on the porch, but we're sorry if this made your stay uncomfortable in any way.
Thanks for your feedback. We will continue to work hard to provide an ideal experience for all guests!
The house was nice. It really needs a good cleaning - everywhere. There was an issue with the well water. There wasn't even enough water to brush your teeth. Showers? Next to impossible.... and don't flush while someone's in the shower! Then, there's NO water at all in there for a bit. The pressure was low, at best. The contact person, although prompt with correspondence, didn't do anything to solve the problem. After three days I spoke with the property owner, only to find out he's had an issue with the well, thinking it was fixed, but surely it is not. With such an issue, we expected someone to show up at the door to check this out and hopefully get it resolved - that never happened. Having family in town for a family wedding and not feeling like we could comfortably shower for the events was extremely frustrating at best.

Hi Susan, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
We are glad you chose our home and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We will address your concerns regarding any cleanliness concerns of the home with the cleaning company so this issue does not affect future guests. We have had 3 plumbers and a well expert come out to address the issue, but it was not until the day after your stay that the problem was fully resolved. We don't expect this to be a problem in the future. We are so sorry it impacted your stay and feel the refund we provided was able to resolve the inconvenience.
We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback!
