Beachfront Bliss with Incredible Views - Church Point Cottage

Welcome to Church Point Cottage!

This amazing beachfront rental in the historic area of Holetown on the platinum coast of Barbados has a one of a kind ocean and beach view. Enjoy beach access to some of the best beaches in Barbados - to the North you have the famous Folkestone Reserve - a well-known snorkeling and scuba spot, and to the South you have almost a kilometre of stunning sandy beaches and turquoise water. Relax with a sundowner on the elevated deck as the sun sets on another day in the tropics. Try the ocean kayak or grab the snorkeling gear and check out the reefs on your doorstep. The cottage is close to all amenities, making it easy to plan your visit - bars, restaurants, nightlife, duty-free shopping, groceries and more are just a few minutes walk away.

The cottage has an open plan layout with a spacious living and dining area that opens out to the covered verandah and ocean views. There are three air-conditioned bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and access to the patio along with an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two twins - perfect for groups or families. There is a fully equipped kitchen and also a bar with a mini fridge! The cottage is decked out with everything you need to enjoy an unforgettable holiday.

We are happy to recommend the best on-island activities, but you've got a gem of a location on your hands and you might just want to spend every day exploring the beach at your doorstep. We look forward to welcoming you to Barbados!

A Perfectly situated holiday home. The beaches left and right were beautiful. So close to many nice restaurants and party beaches like Thunder and Rico Beach.

The location of this property is pretty perfect with stunning terrace views. Super relaxed. The house manager, Petra, is the best host I’ve experienced. Really thoughtful, can manage anything you want and super communicative. I can’t not recommend this place

We had some wonderful days in the house, which was really nice for a family of two adults and three children, plus grandma. The beaches right outside the gate were so cozy and delicious. But a little wild for very young children! Unfortunately, we experienced a heavy downpour, which left a huge puddle at the driveway and rained through the roof. Petra was incredibly helpful, however, and offered all her help and assistance, even though it was not the hosts' fault that the weather behaved like that. Thanks for some great days!

The location is absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. The villa was great but is in need of some tlc for sure. Cupboard doors not shutting, curtain rail in second bedroom above the bed fell down on my daughters head, fixtures and fittings in bathrooms needing updating and one of the sink bowls in the en-suite had been broken and fixed with filler right across it …..it didn't affect its use but didn't look nice aesthetically. The shower head in main bathroom was cracked and so water sprang out where it shouldn't ….all these things are little and could be easily rectified. Having said all of this we absolutely loved staying there and would stay again. Petra was amazingly helpful and is a real asset to the property as was always available to answer any questions. If you book to stay just bear in mind that this isn't a luxury villa but nonetheless comfortable.

Beyond our expectations. Everything was so easy. The place felt very spacious. Had everything we needed. In the perfect location. We had the best time. Exactly what we were looking for. Air conditioning worked great. Internet was great. We used the kitchen a lot. Great stay. We look forward to returning.

This was our second time staying at Bluescape. We feel right at home by now - home away from home. We absolutely love staying here. It's the best of all worlds - homey, spacious, super convenient, lovely deck where we enjoyed sunrise and sunset. The host Petra was super responsive and very accommodating. Thank you for having us stay again and we look forward to it again in the future.

Amazing Location

This house was beyond what we could have asked for. Directly ocean front (you can listen to the waves as you drift off to sleep) with two quiet beaches on either side. Private wall and shrubs hide you from the boardwalk but not from the view. Property was beautifully landscaped, we spent all day every day outside and just popped under the lanai when rain came. Location is great, walking distance to Holetown and very close to the bus stops. We wanted to stay forever!

Perfect location!

Church Point Cottage is exactly how it is described. It is in a great location - situated in a quiet spot where the locals hang out, but only minutes walk to hotels, bars & restaurants. And right on the beach so we could walk out of our gate and straight on to a sunbed! The property manager, Petra, could not do enough for us. She was so helpful and friendly, we only had to ask a question and she sorted it out. We felt well and truely looked after! We hope to come back again in future!

Beach Front Bliss

The villa is beautiful and a perfect location right by the beach. But what makes this place more special is the property manager, Petra. She is simply the BEST! She is very kind and cares about the guests. We arrived at the property the day before hurricane Beryl, she helped us to move to another property so that we were safe. She brought us water and groceries and kept us informed about the Barbados/hurricane news during the entire time. Once the hurricane passed Barbados, she moved us back to the Beach Front Bliss villa. Because of her, we were were safe and sound during the hurricane.

Had an amazing stay! 6 of us friends re-united after years apart. Dan's home was the perfect place to reconnect. Tucked away and private, perfect for our mini get away. Beautiful open plan led us from a cute garden patio, through the living/main area, out onto the beachfront patio. We loved the space, the privacy, and the beautiful deck where we had a night on the grill with some wine and many coffee mornings looking out at the ocean. It was great to have access to all the gear for water adventures - paddle board, snorkels, floaties. We fully utilized the kitchen even though so many restaurants were all within walking distance. Also walked to a few pubs and hang out spots. Really, to sum it up, it was the full package. Would most definitely stay again. Thanks again!

This beautiful home was spacious, but not presumptuous with all amenities just as described. What stood out was how uniquely close it is to the edge of the Caribbean Sea! During our stay, we walked up and down the beautiful Saint James Coast, and few if any places had such close proximity to the water. The elevated deck is where we spent most of our time gazing out at the blue ocean and watching incredible sunsets. Restaurants, shops and entertainment were easily walkable from this great church point location. Charlene, our housekeeper, was so pleasant and friendly and helpful and kept the place tidy! There were paddle boards and a kayak to step out the door and use in the ocean. The house was fully appointed with pots and pans and a full bar, glassware, separate refrigerator, etc. A fantastic house to entertain friends, and really settle into the beauty of island life. The worst part of our trip was having to leave!

Clean, but dingy - felt unsafe

The house was clean, but everything was very dingy. It felt old and out of style - needs painting and redecorating. The entrance to the driveway is a huge mess of trash bags - very awful. There is no lighting at the entrance or on the driveway. It felt unsafe. There are gates that you can see in all of the photos, which are secured by padlocks -- one on the front of the house, one on the back that faces the beach and one for the gate in the yard that leads to the beach. We kept them all locked when we went out and at night, which felt weird to be locked in in such a way. We had not been locking the gate from the yard to the beach or the gate on the back of the house when we were in the ocean just a few feet (and in sight of) the house. One day, our 16-year-old son stayed at the house while the rest of us went into the ocean. He heard someone yell something that he didn't understand and assumed it was coming from the pathway just beyond the wall that encloses the backyard. The next thing he heard was the screen door opening. He came out of his room, thinking it was one of us who had returned to get something. But it was an intruder! The man made up a story saying that we had sent the man to get our son to buy mangoes. Our son was confused but followed the man out to the walkway where we saw them. He asked my son if he was scared and told him "I'm not a robber" then walked away toward Folkestone. We found only $4 missing from the table at the house, but we were shaken up.

Hi Jill, as always to all of our guests, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. The feedback took us by surprise and our team would really have loved to know that you experienced these things during your stay so that we could action and address these items quickly for you, so it’s quite sad for us to only now hear this. We do have solar lights for example – up the driveway and in the garden. One of the charms, and a definite positive, of the Cottage is that it is in the middle of the action. There are perhaps 20 restaurants within walking distance. In addition, there is a public park next door which includes a protected marine area and excellent reefs for snorkeling and as a result there are many people about. This is why when greeting guests on arrival as part of the walk-through our property manager always advises our guests to lock the gates, whether you are there or not. It is a small price to pay for the beachfront location. Another result of the public park next door is the classic Rum Shop - Snowy’s, within and we have no control over how they manage their refuse. The Cottage itself has regular refuse collection at frequent intervals. As far as the furnishings, it’s only a matter of taste as this is a Classic Bajan Oceanfront Cottage, with appropriate trimmings. Once again, so sorry to hear this feedback through the review and hopefully we can host you again sometime in the future!
