About this property
Ships Watch On The Bay With Endless Water Views
Ships Watch sits at the very tip of Stingray Point in Deltaville, where the Rappahannock and Piankatank Rivers meet the Chesapeake Bay. When the road runs into the Bay, you have arrived!
The breathtaking sunrises are one of the most unforgettable parts of staying at Ships Watch. Wake up early, grab a cup of coffee, and watch the sky come alive over the Chesapeake Bay—every sunrise is different, and every one is beautiful.
With panoramic water views from 17 of the home’s 19 windows and the sound of waves just outside, Ships Watch is a truly special waterfront getaway. Watch ships, fishing boats, sailboats, Jet Skis, and kayakers pass by—and keep an eye out for the dolphins that frequently visit!
Fish and crab from your private dock, explore the water in one of the two kayaks provided, then prepare your catch in the fully stocked gourmet kitchen or outside on the grill. Relax on the wraparound screened porch, play cornhole or croquet, or grab a margarita and settle into one of the captain’s chairs on the dock.
Bring your fishing poles, steam crabs, roast oysters, enjoy a waterfront fish fry, or take a peaceful walk around family-friendly Stingray Point.
It’s always 5 o’clock at Ships Watch. Come for the fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and incredible sunrises—you may never want to leave!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Englehart
I’m a Richmond native who has had a home in Deltaville for the past 25 years and has lived here full-time for the past four. I love this community and enjoy sharing everything that makes it special with my guests.
As a seasoned real estate developer, I work alongside my team to manage Ships Watch on the Bay, The Blue Heron, and The Heron's Nest (tiny home)—all located here in Deltaville. My goal is to provide every guest with a comfortable, memorable, five-star stay where they feel truly welcomed and want to come back.
Why they chose this property
Location, location, location! Ships Watch offers the rare opportunity to stay directly on the very tip of historic Stingray Point, surrounded by panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay.
Stingray Point received its name in 1608 after Captain John Smith was seriously injured by a cownose ray while fishing near the mouth of the Rappahannock River. Believing the injury could be fatal, he reportedly gave his men instructions for the disposal of his body. He recovered—and Stingray Point earned its memorable name.
The original Stingray Point Lighthouse was built in 1858 at the entrance to the Rappahannock River. It was deactivated in 1965 and dismantled shortly afterward. The original lighthouse site, now marked by a navigational buoy, can be seen from Ships Watch. A replica of the lighthouse is located at Safe Harbor Marina in Deltaville.
We love dogs and welcome up to two pre-approved dogs weighing 50 pounds or less each with a small nonrefundable pet fee. Dogs must be house-trained, non-chewers, and crated if left unattended inside the home. Please message Lisa with any questions before booking.
