The place is located on the beach and close to some of the best restaurants and bars in town. One of the A/C in one of the bed rooms did not work the day we checked in however Martin, the property manager had someone come the next morning who fixed the A/C and also fixed one of the bath rooms that had no water pressure.
We stayed for 2 weeks. Had one small problem which Norbert had the property manager remedy immediately. I have been going to Sosua for 12 years and this is the most convenient location I have found . Beautiful views. Easy and direct access to the beach. Would absolutely stay again
This was our second stay here. The unit has been completely updated since the last time. Norbert is a great host and easily contacted. Looking forward to coming back in January

This condo is located right on the beach in a quiet area of town with everything within walking distance. The condo was an excellent value though in need of minor repairs.
Overall, I'm happy to have found it!

Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I will conduct an inspection to ensure that even minor items are taken care of.
Great location close to it all but off the beaten path. Only down falls are there was no soap provided as listing says. Half the dishes were in the dishwasher when we got there. The whole place wasn’t as clean as it should be. A better house keeper would solve these issues Plus side. The property manager was great and very attentive. Very nice condo with comfortable beds. Neighbors are friendly. . Beach access and location were great.

Needs updating
A lot of things are out dated and a lot of roaches on property
Apartment was clean and nice. Love the room updates. The AC in the rooms were freezing cold. The property manager was awesome. Joan was awesome and attentive, if I needed anything he would immediately drop what he was doing and respond to me. He can point you in the right direction for anything you need (restaurants, excursions, places to visit and much more.) Security was great and the property is well maintained. I love this place/unit don’t hesitate to book.

Great property perfect location.
I enjoyed my stay at this condo. It was clean, neat and was exactly what I was looking for. The staff from the security to property manager were awesome. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this apartment for your sosua vacation. Apartment had everything I needed from plenty of towels to kitchen supplies. The water pressure was low in the guest bathroom shower and the internet worked but a little slow. But I had a great time staying in this unit. Everything was in walking distance bars, restaurant, and beach. Hopefully it is available for my next visit in august. I think I've found my go too spot in sosua from now on. Really appreciate the hospitality by everyone.

I am very glad to hear that you had a great stay. I look forward to having you as a guest on your next trip to Sosua.
The condo has a great layout and in a great location . Property needs upgrading and additional attention to cleanliness and appearance throughout is warranted. Bed was very comfortable. A beautiful patio overlooking a small beach. The grounds were well maintained by dedicated gardeners. Security was very good.
This was my second time staying at the Galeria because it's close to everything plus it gives you direct beach access. This apartment was very clean, comfortable and i really enjoyed my stay. Communication with host was good. I definitely would recommend this place.
The place needs some minor repairs. Beds are fine but living area furnishings should be replaced.

Would be perfect with some TLC!
Location, grounds and beach definitely a 5star. Condo is very nice but in need of upgrading and repairs. The condo was very dirty upon arrival and we spent Christmas eve and Christmas day cleaning as no cleaning service was available during holidays. After sleeping in my clothes for 3 nights we finally got new sheets and pillows as the ones on the bed were stained and torn. We wasted 4 days of our holidays meeting with maintenance and cleaning staff as there were numerous things to be fixed. After contacting the owner he did his best to accommodate us but it wasn't until 11 days, 2 days before we left that the condo was livable. Maintenance did a great job repairing the air conditioner, dining room light, new shower head, new sink strainer but it took 11 days to get window coverings. With rotted window and patio door sills, water had leaked in and we insisted that the molded and stained curtains be taken down as it was making me sick and being on ground level, everyone could see directly in the condo. I am still on an antibiotic for my chest from the dust and mold. Maybe from the broom closet filled with old molded curtains, pillows and rags. Regardless, it was very musty and we couldn't open the windows as there is no screens. Every kitchen cupboard was filthy, we washed enough to use, coffee pot leaked but they got us a new one, not a decent pan to cook with, but again they got us a new one, smashed wine glass in the cupboard and a bag of leftover potato chips. Dresser drawers were dirty and last rentals clothes still hanging in closet. Water jug sits on the floor instead of a cooler and the worn out garbage can has no lid which attracts flies.(requested a new one but never got it). Broken bedroom lamp, dirty oven, no dishtowels or a sharp knife or clean cutting board. The list could go on and on but I only have 642 characters remaining in my review. I honestly don't think the owner knows what kind of shape this condo was in, that it was the managers doing. It was not cleaned properly before we arrived and have 51 photos and numerous text to back up my story. We have been travelling for 25 years, once, sometime twice a year, but our first time with VRBO. Hopefully this is not a common situation as we would think twice before renting again. Here's hoping the company reaches out to us. The property could be a little piece of paradise if it was maintained properly. We debated for almost 2 weeks to write this review but for the price we paid!!

Of all of the condo reviews I’ve received, this one stands alone. Not simply because of its numerous misrepresentations, but most of all due to its level of dishonesty and exaggeration as indicated below. As is customary, a cleaning crew cleaned the condo prior to the customers’ December 23, 2017, check-in. And, notably, the customers had no complaints at all about the condo’s condition at the time of their check-in despite being given a thorough tour of the premises by the on-site property manager. Later that night and the next morning they requested additional cleaning services, a new coffee pot, and bed sheets which were promptly accommodated. On December 24, 2017, the on-site property manager ensured the customers were satisfied with the accommodations and relayed as much to me. Despite now claiming that the condo was not “livable”, the customers nonetheless stayed in the property for another five days without any complaints or problems. Then on December 30, 2017, they complained for the first time of the alleged mold on my custom-made living room curtains. At the customers’ request, the curtains were promptly removed. However, no evidence of mold was ever discovered, nor has there ever been any mold in my condo. At this point my suspicions were raised since so much time had elapsed since the initial minor issues were remedied. And, sure enough the customers then hinted that they wanted a refund but did not request to leave my ocean front condo. Indeed, they stayed in it for yet another week though they now claim they somehow jeopardized their health in doing so. I find it hard to believe that a reasonable person claiming to need “antibiotic[s]” due to alleged “mold” would voluntarily stay in such an environment for two weeks without raising the issue to the owner of the property whose contact information was made readily available and who would have taken every step possible to remedy the situation. I made every effort to address all issues raised by the customers during their 14-night stay. It appears that a laundry list of minor issues has been exaggerated here in a way that is not appropriate or reasonable.

Great Time
I had a great time in Sosua. The property was better than expected. The security staff was friendly, as well as the property manager. The owner is very accessible and friendly as well. The property was clean and safe. Very quick walk into town, so there is no car needed. Our only issue is the main toilet didn't work so everyone had to use the bathroom in the master bedroom and the master bedroom's shower pressure is very weak. Outside of that I would stay at the property in a moment's notice.

Flooded, assaulted and molded
Arrived to air con off in condo - air con turned on and blasted with moldy air with black stuff landing on the masterbedroom bed. We had to buy disinfectant spray to spray the heck out of the air con so I could sleep without getting ill. At 430 am the next morning we awoke to the hot water heater spraying hot water onto the floor for quite a few hours and flooding the hall way, bathroom and guest room where my 70 year old dad was staying, Good thing we had no electrical things on the floor! Security helped clean up the mess and it was temporarily fixed that afternoon and permanently fixed the next day.
Villa needs some TLC for the wall cracks and ceiling cracks which are unsightly. Curtains and rods need to be replaced and repaired as they don't close properly. Patio bottom doors did no close so we had to put a chair across them to keep the warm air out and cool air in. The air cons needed a deep cleaning as you could see the filters were black and full of dust and mold.
To end our vacation my 70 year old Dad was assaulted and mugged on his way up to breakfast alone to Don Andre's up the street, which we had walked up every day without issue. We had left him to go on a horseback ride and when we arrived home later that day he was still waiting for the tourist police to show up to give a report, and of course they did not ever show up. The restaurant is 200 feet up the street and we were very concerned that this wasn't a safe place to stay after that and were glad we were leaving shortly.
Overall, I think that Sosua is a bit seedy and needing a better show of police security around our condo - we will stay in Cabarete next time we go back, but if we had to reccommend this condo we would have to say that families should be very cautious and be aware of their surroundings, even though we were they seemed to single out my Dad as he was alone and looked like an easy mark.
The security were very helpful and caring about our issues, and we appreciated them. A little bit of care taken in repairs would make the condo much nicer as neighboring condos seemed to be better taken care of. The dresser in the master bedroom was musty so we did not leave our clothes in them and the shower needed to be replaced as it trickled instead of sprayed, very difficult to wash your hair and rinse it.

Thanks for your review. There are a number of areas where I would like to clarify the events that occurred and everything that I did to address them. To title your review as “Flooded, assaulted and molded” is an unfair description. There were no assaults that occurred in or on the grounds of my condo. Regarding your elderly father being robbed in the town of Sosua, I certainly offer my most sincere apology, as I have never had a renter report any problems of this sort during a visit to Sosua nor have I ever experience any crime during my stays in Sosua. I wish you had contacted me when this occurred as I have a substantial number of resources in Sosua who may have been able to assist you with the local authorities. While, I cannot control what occurs outside of the property grounds, I would have done my best to help you, as the well being of my rental customers as well as those of other property owners is of paramount importance to us all. My advice when traveling to any foreign country is to use the same judgment and situational awareness that you would apply to any urban area in the U.S. to mitigate these types of risks. I acknowledge that the hot water heater malfunctioned over night during your stay at 4:30am and was the sole cause of any water on the floor. To refer to water from the hot water heater malfunction a flood, exaggerates the true circumstances, as there was never a risk of flooding due to the drains installed in floors. A problem like this is something no property owner can predict. All we can do is respond quickly when we are notified of a problem and I believe that I did respond as quickly as possible once I was alerted to the issue. Please note that I was not notified of the problem with the water heater until approximately 2 hours after the problem started, at approximately 6:30am, via email. If I had been notified about the water heater problem when it occurred, via phone call, as would have been appropriate in this case, I could have assisted in getting the water cutoff immediately and requesting assistance from my local resources in Sosua. When notified about your concern about the A/C units, I promptly requested that my property manager visit the condo when you were present so that he could directly inspect any issues affecting proper functioning of the A/C units. After this inspection occurred I was informed that everything was fine. I did not receive any further feedback from you that this was not the case.
