The historic Stonehouse at the Confluence was built in 1920 and completely remodeled in 2017. It sits on the banks of the Casselman River where it meets the Youghiogheny and Laurel Hill Creek. It is situated on a half acre corner lot in the area's most desired location.
The house sleeps up to 10 with 4 upstairs bedrooms and a sleeper couch for non stair climbing guests in the living room. There are two full bathrooms upstairs and one full on the main floor.
The home is charming and spacious with beautiful, newly refinished hardwood floors throughout. While everything is new and modern, the charms of a home built almost 100 years ago are present. With a brand new, well equipped kitchen open to a magnificent dining room, it's the perfect home for families or groups of friend to gather.
It has a large porch ideal for relaxing and a backyard with hot tub on the riverside and a large level yard perfect for tossing a football or playing cornhole. The home is walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the GAP bike trail. Take your pick of the 3 rivers for fishing or just relax on the porch listening to the rivers and birds. Trains run on the railroad tracks across the river.
Completely newly renovated–everything is brand new. Amenities include: hot tub, gas log fireplace, TV/DVD player, washer/dryer, high speed & wireless Internet, Comcast cable, gas grill, air conditioning and outdoor fire pit. All linens and towels are provided. Confluence has both a Verizon and AT&T cell tower and both work well from the house. Our home is kid friendly, with highchair and crib.
With 4 distinct seasons, the house is available year round.
Please note that there is a security camera/motion detection light mounted on the porch, facing the driveway, that we use to monitor when the space is vacant.

What a beautiful home. The view of the river, the lovely fireplace and cozy bedrooms…..we had a restful and relaxing stay. The size of the kitchen made meal prep easy, and it was well equipped.

Perfect location for our planned bike rental and trip. We loved the fireplace, living area and bedroom set up. The hosts communication before, during, and after was very helpful.

This was the most perfect place for a six girl gathering. We stayed here to be in the center of all things outdoors - biking and hiking! The house is beautiful and clean. It had everything we needed. We spent most of our time outdoors at the firepit or on the couches in the evening. Highly recommend this beautiful place!

Perfect Riverside Getaway!
Plenty of room in this renovated historic house. We really enjoyed having enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone in our party. We also enjoyed the outdoor amenities - the front porch, fire pit area, and fishing in the river. This was a great location for a "home base" for our bike trip.
Thanks for the review. Glad you were able to visit Ohiopyle State park and enjoy a rafting trip!

Great relaxing weekend with awesome hiking in the Laurel Highlands, staying in Confluence
We have stayed at the Confluence Yough properties year after year, and the Stone House at least for the past 4-5 years, always clean, ready to go, offering great accommodations in the Laurel Highland!
This stay was perfect for our needs. The gas fireplace and cozy couch allowed us to really relax and spend meaningful time together. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for a bigger group (dishwasher a huge plus!) We had a lovely time in this beautiful old house :)

Thank you for the wonderful review. So glad to hear that you found the Stonehouse to be cozy, comfy and you all had a relaxing visit.
Myself and five friends had a wonderful time here. Spacious kitchen for great group meals, fantastic porch for some reading, great hot tub and fire pit for outdoor relaxation and views of the river. Already planning our return trip!
Stone House was very nice and roomy for our group of six. It had lots of old charm but the kitchen was nice and modern. We loved the hot tub and fire pit also.
We enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort of the home as we traveled with friends. The ample bedroom space and 3 bathrooms were very helpful. Proximity to Ohiopyle hikes is excellent! Watching the river rise with spring rains and hearing the regular trains pass was an added bonus, especially for the kids.

Thank you for the lovely review. So glad to hear that the Stonehouse worked out well for you all. I'm also glad you all enjoyed watching the river rise. You certainly hit a landmark rain cycle. It's always interesting to watch the rain fed Casselman River rise enough to back up the water coming from the Yough River.

About the host
Hosted by Kara (Stonehouse)
continued from Riverhouse.... ahhh the Stonehouse. One day my sister called and told me that the Stonehouse was for sale. Our parents almost bought this house when we were kids but they passed it up. I was forever disappointed because I already had a love for stone houses. I think my mom didn't like the kitchen. We weren't planning on another vacation rental, but I always had my eye on that house. I immediately called the realtor. She warned me that it was in rough shape. We took a look, came up with a plan for renovations (kitchen was ground zero) and decided to go for it.
Why they chose this property
When we purchased the Stonehouse, she was in bad shape (ask me for photos). Built in 1920 with local rock, she was sturdy but had fallen under disrepair over the years. It took a complete renovation to bring her back to life. From the hardwood floors, to moving walls to completely redesigning the kitchen and bathrooms to insulation to heating and air, to new windows and everything in between. I think she was worth saving and the final product is something we are extremely proud of. We hope you will enjoy your stay and notice the love and care that went into what you see today.
What makes this property unique
The Stonehouse has an inviting and spacious foyer, living and dining room with refinished hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen and bathrooms are brand new. The stone fireplace with gas insert makes the living room a great gathering space when you aren't enjoying the porch and backyard outdoor living space and hot tub. The view of the rivers is amazing with ducks and other wildlife flying by. One step out of the car from a long drive and instantly you are on vacation! Don't forget the convenience to town, bike trail and of course the rivers.
