This place was perfect! We had room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub after a day on the mountain. We will 100% book this house again.
We had a great stay. The house was definitely big enough for our family of 6. It was in a great location in regards to the ski slopes! We will definitely book again.
The cabin was just as described. Perfect for our family vacation. Amazing!

Very Comfortable Stay
Our group really enjoyed the house! What a beautiful area! The house and the grounds were well kept and the kitchen was well stocked to feed a large group. It was comfortable with plenty of beds/ baths to accommodate our group of 10. The hot tub and fire pit were a big hit as well.

Slaty Fork / Snowshoe Mt
We stayed for a week in this Slatyy Fork house, right at the base of Snowshoe mountain. Very comfortable and plenty of room for six of us. The host was very responsive and helpful with questions. Plenty of outdoor space with a fire pit. We had a great time.
We had a very wonderful time in West Virginia. Snowshoe was a blast and we had a lovely time at our rental house. The hot tub was warm and clean, the space was warm and endearing, and the wilderness was beautiful. We would definitely book this property again next year.
Family reunion with our West Virginia/Kentucky family. We had a great time and enjoyed the back and front porches. House was very clean. Some of the rooms could benefit from a good paint job. All in all, Will definitely stay there again!
Our party enjoyed the house thoroughly, especially the room with all the bunks. Only complaint would be that the propane tank on the grill was empty and the grill itself was incredibly dirty. Aside from that we had a great stay
Overall, this is a great property and a great location. Very nice yard, nice lot with privacy. A few minor issues that I would say are typical to a rental property (Cabinet doors slightly out of level, typical wear and tear on furniture) but nothing to detract me from staying here again! Lots of amenities provided
We had a fantastic time at Cardinal Retreat! We spent Thanksgiving weekend there, and the house was everything we could have hoped for. The kitchen was fully stocked for our needs, the beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and blankets, all paper products provided, even firewood and separate towels for the hot tub, which was a real perk. The refrigerator was different and smaller than the one pictured, which proved a bit of a challenge for fitting all of our Thanksgiving food, but that was the only unexpected part of our stay. It was a very positive experience overall! The ping pong table in the heated garage was great, the hot tub was warm, and the firepit was perfect. The location was great, too; not too far away from the store or gas station. We'd definitely stay there again!
Plenty of space for our group of 8. Convenient location to The Raven Golf Course. Snowshoe Mountain is a short drive away. The back deck is a great place to sit as a group and relax in the evenings. Communication with the property manager was seamless and our issue (minor) was resolved right away. Pong table came in clutch for our late night tournament. There's no doubt that we'll consider this property for future visits.
Spacious and well stocked kitchen for cooking. Fireplace didn’t work in the master bedroom or living room. That was disappointing. Cold, snowy and no firplace.

From the owner:
"Hi Tina,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback while staying at The Cardinal Retreat. We strive to provide every guest with an exceptional stay, and it seems we fell short of that for you. We value our guests' feedback and take it very seriously. I can assure you our onsite management team has investigated your concerns and addressed them accordingly. While staying with us, you reached out with your concerns but, unfortunately, never allowed us to assist you during your stay.
Had you allowed us to inspect the water heater, we could have served you and your guests better. We have two fully operating water heaters that provide ample amounts of hot water for all our guests. In the four years of this rental property, we have never once received any feedback about bed bugs. The home is sprayed once a month to prevent any critters from being in the home, but it is a mountain house that lots of animals call home.
Again, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope to welcome you back again and prove to you we are indeed a top property in Snowshoe."
We had a group of 15 (four families) and this large house was very comfortable for the week. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, ping pong table, and grill. The bunk bed room was perfect for the kids to all be together. We appreciated the provided firewood.
The house is in a cellular dead zone (due to the Green Bank Telescope nearby - a cool day trip, btw ) so we were glad the house had WiFi, including Rokus in most rooms.
The house was well stocked in general. We appreciated the basket of towels for hot tub use.
We did have two minor cleaning issues on arrival- the first floor bedroom had some longer smoke smell from a previous renter and the first floor common area floor was sticky throughout. We also had a little trouble with the house router but a reboot fixed that up. Minor issues in an otherwise great stay. Definitely recommend.
Oh and we saw a family of bears on the path behind the house!
