The property was centrally located. The unit itself lacked some basic supplies such as a wine opener and dish cloths tea towels but upon contacting Robby the manager, we were promptly provided with some necessities. I would recommend if you are looking to be close to restaurants and some fun vintage shopping stores and near parks.
We only stayed at the VRBO for one night, however we had an amazing time. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us, with ample area for us to enjoy each others company while we were at the house. Everything was up to date and just like the photos. The host was also very accessible and provided help with parking and such on the day of. A great place for a great price !
It was a great stay, Rob was wonderful and helpful. We loved the downstairs neighbours they were very kind and welcoming. The house was what we expected, very spacious and lots of near buy stores. Thank you Rob for hosting us!

It was a pleasure hosting you and your group! Please come back and visit anytime
We had 8 people (2 families) staying in Calgary after spending some time in the mountains. We were a little cramped (probably best for 6 people) and there was limited glassware (though a set of wine glasses arrived the day after I notified them).
Overall, we really enjoyed the tremendous views of the city and being able to walk downtown and to Canada celebrations. We would stay in this apartment again on another Calgary visit.

Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
I thought the whole point of VRBO was that they advertise "a place to your own". We were expecting a three bedroom house with a private hot tub. We turned up to an apartment complex with people blasting loud music and smoking cigarettes in the hot tub. When we contacted the host he basically ignored the comments and confusion until I pointed out that there was a 6 person table advertised and the one we were provided with only had 4 chairs (for our party of FIVE). He could do no better than bring the chair the following afternoon with a singular bottle of wine as a half assed apology. We stayed for 2 nights and experienced some pretty sweltering weather which was unfortunate because whenever we went to open the window, there were people smoking weed or cigarettes right in front of the balcony. Overall, would not booo again and I don't even trust VRBO itself to sort through property listing because seriously who wants to be tricked into a smokers apartment.
I booked this property with my family and we were excited by the fact it was a house and had a hot tub. The ad did not mention that it is a 4 plex and that the hot tub is in the open front yard. The hot tub was filthy, cloudy and smelled terrible. Other residents from the 4 plex came and went from the front door at all hours and chain smoked in the yard right under the balcony for our living room. I understand it is a shared space, but as it was a very warm day we wanted the windows open for fresh air in the unit and the cigarette smoke was blowing in so we had to close them. Fans were available in every room but open windows were essential due to 30+ degree weather. The master bathroom toiletries had the previous occupants hair on them and there were no towels in the second bathroom (we found some above the laundry machine). My experience would have been different if the listing were more accurate. I was expecting a house with a private hot tub and instead was in a multiple housing unit with shared spaces and the yard was not safe for me to let my kids run around in. There was an intoxicated homeless person drifting in and out of the front yard several times and with no gate he was free to roam. Also the garbage bins by the parking were overflowing and garbage was all over the parking area. Likely due to the other tenants but not a nice first view when coming to the property.

Why they chose this property
Centrally located Crescent Height provides walking distance to downtown as well as the river. Once you approach the street you will notice that this is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city as the Elm tress cascade over, it’s very picturesque. Within one block each direction we have over half a dozen restaurants and fast food chains which will ensure to satisfy any foodies cravings. Mentionable notables are Tokyo Street Market (Sushi), K-town chicken(Korean deep fried chicken), Copper Branch (Vegan), Sorella’s(Italian), Deepak's Dhaba (Indian), Boogies Burgers, Quesada (Mexican), PO-KE, Pizza Culture Napoletana, Peter’s Drive In, and not to mention the number of outstanding authentic Asian restaurants nearby (Safeway is only 9 blocks North). Being location right off of Center street there are so many transit options from here and you are walking distance to Chinatown and to the C-Train station. A few blocks west of the unit you are greeted with the iconic Crescent Heights heights park and hills (arguably one of the best views of the city). There is a less than 10 min commute to so many hits spots in the city such as Renfrew, Bridgeland, Sunnyside and West Hillhurst. If you are looking for a walk feel to stroll down the stairs at Crescent Heights Hills where you can cross the bridge over the river into Eau Claire. You will be hard pressed to beat this location.
