Beautiful 3 Bedroom AC Beach Home, Close to the Best Snorkeling Beaches in Hilo

WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE IN HILO BUT CLOSE TO BEACHES AND OCEAN WHERE THE WEATHER IS BEST!!!

WE'RE EXCITED TO NOW PROVIDE GUESTS WITH THE COMFORT OF A NEWLY INSTALLED SPLIT AC SYSTEM!!
Our islands have been experiencing the warmest and most humid weather we have had in years and while some guests prefer the tropical breezes by keeping windows and doors open with ceiling fans going, we realize some guests prefer and need the comfort of AC. In trying to make every guests stay the best, we have installed a new split AC system in both the upstairs and downstairs living areas and all bedrooms throughout the beach house.

Although our beach home is located a few minutes from downtown Hilo it is nestled away from traffic close to a quiet and secluded ocean cove. It provides an ideal location for visitors looking to visit all the sites on the east side of the island. The home is 5-8 minutes from the airport, shopping, restaurants, and Hilo’s popular Downtown Farmer's Market. The Hawaii Volcano National Park and waterfalls along the Hamakua coast are a 30 to 40 minute drive away. The world famous Arnotts’ Tours to the Volcano, Mauna Kea, and other famous vacation sites are less than a five minute walk from the home.

Our beach home is also a few steps away from the ocean and beach where guests can enjoy just lounging in the sun or swimming. Many of our guests enjoy exploring the ocean where they see turtles feeding along the cliffs and dolphins playing further out in the open ocean. A few minutes driving down the road there is a popular beach park Richardson's where guests also enjoy snorkeling, boogie boarding, and swimming.

Our three bedroom three bath home is ideal for multiple couples or families with older children and grandparents traveling together.. It is a few steps from an ocean cove where you can explore tide pools, see turtles, dolphins, and whales or enjoy a morning or evening swim or stroll.
Families enjoy having morning and early evening meals on the upstairs large balcony overlooking the garden. There is also another large outdoor patio for dining, grilling, or just relaxing while listening to the sounds of the ocean.

The upstairs one bedroom unit provides a queen bed and a queen futon sofa sleeper, full bath, full kitchen, two living areas, wifi, open balcony, newly installed bedroom and living area AC's, and private parking. There is also a smaller lanai that can be exited from the bedroom.
The two bedroom one bath downstairs unit has a full shower bath, kitchen, dining and living area, and newly installed bedroom and living room AC. This is ideal for families with older kids, multiple couples, or grandparents who need extra sleeping, dining, bathroom, and relaxing accommodations.

Our beach home consists of two separate units. There is no indoor stair access between the upstairs and downstairs units. Each unit has separate entrances, kitchens, living/dining areas, and patios. For families with younger children that need nightly supervision the separate downstairs unit would not be appropriate and adult supervision at night would be needed.

Great location

The location is great! Just 3 min walk to the beach! We spent lot of time there when it was raining in Hilo. The toilet downstairs not work well, but the whole experience is great!

Wonderful Hawai’i House

Wonderful Hawaiian house in a great location. Walk a couple of minutes to the water! Convenient to sites, restaurants/food, downtown, airport (but NO airport noise) but tucked away with a beautiful private yard to relax in. House was very clean with nice Hawaiian decor - the perfect set up for us and our adult kids. Well stocked with the basics - very comfortable. Loved having breakfast on the lanai. Great place to spend some time in Hilo and the Big Island.

Quiet and close to town and beaches

Our family really enjoyed our Hilo stay. The property is in a quiet neighborhood close to the water and a 5 minute drive into Hilo. We were impressed with the condition and efficiency of the home. Everything we needed (and more!) was available in the home, plus beach gear outside. We’ll be back!

Perfect set up!

The house and studio worked out perfectly for our family trip to attend our daughter's graduation from UH Hilo. The separate studio unit allowed grandparents a place to relax in while the younger adults utilized the gazebo. The outside bathroom and shower were super convenient when returning from the beach. This is our second time staying at this vrbo and would definitely book it again!

Outstanding beach house

When we opened the front door we were home!!! How often can you have breakfast on a lanai overlooking a pond with two wild ducks swimming around, or sit on a different lanai in the afternoon listening to the chirping of birds. Not to mention walking access to four beaches, one at the end of the street. The house itself was beautifully equipped and exuded warmth. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Perfect start to our week

This was the perfect place for us to start our week on The Big Island. It was exactly as advertised, no surprises. Super convenient to getting around Hilo and the East side of the island. Great proximity to the beach. The lanai was a game changer. It was pretty rainy while we were there, but we could sit on the lanai and enjoy the sounds of the jungle comfortably. The kitchen was appointed nicely. The coffee/bananas/sweet rolls were a great touch. Thanks, Claudia!! We'll be back.

Ups & Downs

Couldn't get used to the frogs...…...the earplugs were helpful. The downstairs unit was almost unbearable with the heat & humidity!!! The upstairs unit was better, but the AC really struggled to keep it tolerable. The beach was very nice. And really enjoyed sharing the lanai with the Java Sparrows in the late afternoon!!

Wonderful stay!

The house is lovely: immaculate, comfortable, quiet, and very thoughtfully appointed. The owners have thought of every detail, and we were even greeted with fresh flowers and a welcome basket. The outside space is fabulous, and the home is right down the street from a small beach. Highly recommended!

Nice clean property in Hilo

The house was super clean and I am super picky about cleanliness. The beds were comfortable and the owner was nice enough to leave cookies and rainbow bread for our arrival. It is small—but it was fine for 3 nights to see the sights in Hilo and Volcanos National Park. The upstairs unit is a separate apartment with a separate entrance. My 18 year old daughter stayed there and it was nice so we could have our own space. House is close to everything in Hilo but tucked away to feel private. It was about 40 minutes from Volcanos National Park.

Home away from home...with all the amenities

We had a terrific time at this vacation property, hosted by Claudia (which was her family's home at one point). We were greeted with fresh Hawaiian flowers in both units, and local breads (delicious). Made us feel right at home. The vacation home is a 2 level unit with their individual front doors, but a staircase (outside ) that connects them. The upstairs has a real kitchen, while the lower level has a breakfast kitchen (no stove) but a great toaster and microwave. The bathroom in the lower level was very small, but the rest of the place, location, amenities made up for that 1 aspect. Each level had all the amenities from cutting boards, rice cooker, and other kitchen items. Outside, they had beach chairs, tatami mats, noodles, water shoes in a variety of sizes, goggles, masks and much more. There is an outside lanai that was our gathering spot, especially in the afternoon for cards. The bugs do come out around 5pm, so make sure to put on bug spray. Wait for the frogs to serenade you at night...and show up close to your door. The home is just 2 houses away from the water. And 5 more beach parks that offer snorkeling were within 2 miles of the house. It was very conveniently located. My parents raved about the house, and kept comparing our next vacation spot to Claudia's home. Thank you Claudia for being such a gracious host and providing all the amenities we needed.

Lovely tropical property. Very comfortable for our party. The upstairs & downstairs aren't connected on the inside, so it adds a bit of privacy for couples traveling together. The is another studio on the property, so you may see other visitors during your stay & you share the washer/dryer with them. Owner attentive to messages & requests. Comfy mattresses (wobbly bed frames), nice kitchen set-up. Good seating arrangements. Close to a lovely, rocky beach & good snorkeling down the road at Richardson Beach Park.

A lovely update to a classic older Hawaiian beach cottage. Very spacious with several outdoor living spaces. Comfortable furnishings, well-stocked kitchens, super clean, near downtown. And just a a couple hundred feet to the beach.

Great place

This little house was perfect for our stay! We enjoyed the close walk to the beach and the beautiful outside. We have a 1&2 year old and even though they wanted to play and get into everything they loved It! Claudia was so sweet every time I talked about to her. If the tv isn’t working.. read the big sign telling you how to fix it! Learned this the night before we left but it was our own fault for not seeing the sign! Thanks again Claudia!

Amazing Stay!!!

Had the best time in this very clean and updated house. It had all the amenities we could need and the fresh flowers and welcome amenities where a great touch to welcome us. Nights on the patio having dinner were perfect and morning coffee was even better. Next time i’m in Hilo i’ll stay again.

Nice House :-)

We enjoyed our stay and loved the house! Clean, well appointed and lots of cookware - spices in kitchen for cooking... Great porches and the covered grill shelter in back yard was perfect for eating and relaxing. Will definitely stay again on my next trip to visit my daughter, DZF

Our home has been in our family for generations. Our children who are all grown and living away have spent long summers at the beach home swimming, fishing, and searching for "treasures" the ocean delivers daily to the shore.
My husband and I are retired high school teachers and decided several years ago to remodel and open our home to families who want to experience a kamaaina stay close to the ocean.
We have had so many visitors from all over the world and appreciate the wonderful memories they have shared with us in our guest books. It has been our greatest pleasure to share our home with everyone.
