A beautiful home in a great location! At first, the heat from the stove in the kitchen was overwhelming. But opening the windows to let in some cool air did the trick. Loved the spacious bathroom with a great shower. Slept very well upstairs. If this house was on the market, I would consider buying it. A dream home.

HI David! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We loved hosting you and hope to welcome you back for another dreamy getaway!
This home is absolutely lovely. My daughter and I enjoyed cooking together in the kitchen. We had enough space to spend time together in the living area and to enjoy our own space with how many different areas there were to the home. We would stay here again if we come back.

Hi Ducky! Thank you for your 5-star review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We loved hosting your family, and hope you will return!
I chose this property for its location and the AGA cooker in the kitchen. This house is just a beauty, and you can’t beat the proximity to beaches and restaurants. Some things to consider- if you are unfamiliar with an AGA, they are always hot and ready to go. In the winter months this is a blessing as the kitchen is always toasty and welcoming, but I can see it being a bit warm in the hottest months of summer. For me, a drizzly morning and a hot cup of tea in a perfectly warm kitchen brings me back to kitchens of my youth in the UK. If the cooker is intimidating the owners have thoughtfully provided an alternative cooktop and counter top oven. Secondly, the beds to me seemed quite firm. Obviously a rental home can’t accommodate everyone’s mattress preference but just FIY these beds are on the firm side, so back sleepers rejoice. The house is within walking distance of several wonderful restaurants and bars if entertainment is your objective, so you don’t have to worry about driving anywhere if you don’t want to. All in all, this property met and even exceeded my expectations. Clean and fresh, with a magnificent staircase a short stroll from the beach. Highly recommend!

Thank you for the wonderful 5-star review! We're so glad the location and cooker were highlights and to hear this experience reminded you of your childhood. We hope to host you again!
We stayed in Newport during the weekend of the Seafood & Wine Festival. We chose this house due to the location of nearby restaurants and the pick-up stop for the Seafood & Wine Festival bus. We ate at two super good restaurants (Zurita and Sorella) within short walking distance of the house. The house itself was clean but did leave some room for improvement. The beds and pillows on the second floor were extremely firm and uncomfortable, and thank goodness we brought an extra pillow from home. The kitchen coffee maker was missing a piece to allow the brewed coffee to go into the pot, and coffee flowed all over the counter. The TV would not stream anything and the DVD player did not show a picture on the screen, and could only produce audio. The cleaning fees for the house were nearly as much as the stay itself.I would only stay here again due to the location of there weren't any other options.
Love the old school vibe and decor ! Super clean great location. 1 bath with shower is the only real negative, but not a deal breaker.
