We enjoyed our stay for the 5 days we were there. Some of the positives jncluded the the water toys provided - the extensive amount of kitchenware, cleaning products, linens/towels and bathroom necessities. We noted that the shower floor could benefit from a mat (safety) and that the second bedroom would appreciate a window covering (morning sun). The view from the very large deck was very much appreciated as was the availability of a row boat for fishing.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this cottage. The host was friendly, responsive, and very communicative throughout the booking process and our stay.The cottage was clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. All of the amenities were thoughtfully provided, making our stay comfortable and stress-free.The location on the lake was fantastic. The paddle board, kayak, and dinghy were a great bonus and gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water. The lake itself was clean, warm, and perfect for swimming, fishing, and other recreational activities. We also appreciated how peaceful the area was, with quiet neighbours that made for a truly relaxing getaway.

Everything we needed to enjoy the beautiful view and surroundings was supplied, from paddle board to binoculars! Saw more wildlife than expected, from a beaver to loons to chipmunks. Enjoyed walking on the nearby KP trail. Meals were a breeze as kitchen had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave.

Mid July

Location, fishing, swimming and view was fantastic. Cottage and kitchen supplies were good. Lots of linen and towels were provided. Double bed was comfortable, the queen okay, the pull out couch was very uncomfortable. Overall a great stay. Defiantly would recommend.

The best part of this property is it's location, gorgeous views right on the Lake. The owner has taken great pains in providing pots and pans and what ever you may need for your stay. Our stay was ruined by certain safety issues with the property, I have documented these with photographs. I have communicated my concerns to the host through VRBO. There are safety issues on this property which I will list:1. Outlets without covers, more than one. Outlets without covers are such a safety issue that the Town of Verona itself considers them a "code" violation, as do other towns and cities.2. The use of an extension cord as a permanent wiring substitute in the main bedroom. This is, again a code violation and a safety hazard. 3. Uneven flooring is the most concerning hazard because you can easily trip and injure your self. Aside from these there were other issues that took away from our enjoyment of our stay. These are as follows:1. There are tiny bugs all over but particularly in the bathroom. I do not know bug names but these are tiny, greenish in color. 2. In the second bedroom, the headboard is so loose, it falls over onto the bed. The mattress in this bed is really old and smelly. The sheets and cover had a mildewy odor.

I usually always, except here get 4-5 star reviews. The Guests were filthy, and of course asked for a compesation for trivial things which no one in 3 years has ever mentioned. I new they would ask as they praised it when speaking and then review it to try and get compensation. Will not be welcome back nor their family.

Last minute get away

The cottage is spacious and clean, just as described. The waterfront area is well equipped with several types of boats - my kids really enjoyed this. We had 3 very hot days and the lake provided a great place to cool off. A lovely place to spend a few days.

Cozy cottage on the lake

We loved our stay at this property! Clean, easy to access, plenty of thoughtful amenities left for us to use. The lake access might be a little tricky for someone not stable on their feet, but for our little group between 65 and 70, we did just fine. Only recommendation would be a ladder off the dock, into/out of the water. Lots of types of watercraft to try. We would definitely stay again:)

Amazing place, quiet with everything you need.

Amazing cottage with all amenities. Lake was great. My daughters loved it and made the most of it. We didn't want to leave. Only thing was that there was no AC in the end but I believe the owner removed it from the listing already. Fans did the trick. Great communication with the owner. Very amicable and up front. Will try to go back next year.

Was not as expected. Neighbors were close enough to hear their conversations. Coffee cups still had coffee in them. Some cutlery had food still on them. Casserole dish had food and grease still stuck to it. Dishwasher smelled horrible so all dishes were done by hand. Many electrical outlets had no cover plates which was concerning with young grand children. Watercraft were not the best. Barbeque required a good cleaning before use. Many plug-in deodorizers which were hiding a very musty smell.

The house on Howes Lake was exactly as described. The house was clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the furniture was very comfortable. We loved the location right on the lake and right next to the K&P Trail which can be used for biking, walking or running. Check in was easy and communication with the owner was always timely. This is a lovely home in a beautiful location. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing a little bit of paradise with us.
