This unit is perfect for exploring the middle part of the Outer Banks. Manteo and Roanoke Island have much to offer and are close to Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and the northern part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This unit is fantastic for a couple: a full kitchen (which is important to us because of dietary issues that make eating out a challenge), a jetted tub in the full bath, and a living room and balcony looking across Shallowbag Bay to downtown Manteo and Festival Park. Mary is an excellent host. Check-in was handled via text and made things very easy when we arrived, and checkout was even easier. Even though we didn’t meet them face to face, her thoughtful communication I highly recommend this unit, and we definitely plan to return!

This cottage reminds me of the place we used to stay at on the beach when I was a kid - full of family art work and thrift shop finds, furniture and lamps from previous generations , games, and books. A very comfortable place to hang out, cook seafood meals from O'Neals market (5 minutes drive). The cottage is not located in a touristic neighbourhood which is both a plus and a minus. It's wonderfully quiet but not walkable to shops and eateries.
