La Propiedad: Finca Castagnatello
Castagnatello es una casa de campo tradicional maravillosamente restaurada inmersa en el campo de la Toscana, maravillosamente situada entre la montaña de Amiata deliciosa y el encantador Valle de Orcia.
Esta propiedad de lujo colina, rodeado de viñedos y olivares, ofrece impresionantes vistas de la cercana aldea de Seggiano y de las verdes colinas al pie de la montaña Amiata.
Castagnatello tiene seis habitaciones equipadas de calidad, cada una con su propia entrada independiente y todos ofrecen terrazas panorámicas privadas o patios cubiertos que se abren directamente al jardín que rodea la finca. Hay una amplia piscina (16mx8m) con vistas preciosas, y dos grandes barbacoas de piedra.
También estamos magníficamente situados como punto de partida para:
- visitar lugares con encanto en el sur de la Toscana como el Val d'Orcia y sus pueblos encantadores (patrimonio de la humanidad);
- disfrutar de las zonas productoras de vino de Montalcino y Montepulciano;
- pasar un día de excursión en la montaña Amiata con sus zonas de picnic (bbq) y parques naturales;
- pasar un dia en la playa, que está a sólo 1 hora de distancia, visitando los pueblos de la costa como Castiglione della Pescaia.

Absolutely Fantastic!

We were more than happy with the apartment. We spent 3 nights and it was our favorite place out of our 10 day stay in areas of Italy. Nathan was more than accommodating. He was very friendly, easy to contact and genuinely cared about us being happy. The location was quiet and wonderful. We will be back for another stay, only longer next time.

Spectacular Seggiano

The 5 adults in our party all agreed that Castango is like living in a work of art. The setting looking over to Seggiano is fantastic! However, the construction of this building reflected attention to detail for function as well as beauty. The small fresco in the stairway, the lighted stairway to the second floor and the beamed ceilings all took our breath away. Not to be forgotten are the lush grounds with beautiful roses everywhere. The infinity pool was perfect! We appreciated that we were off the tourist track but were pleasantly surprised that good markets were readily available because eating in at Cartagena is a must to savor every last drop,of this Tuscan beauty! Not to be forgotten is the warm reception, though remote, given by Nathan and Gaia. They were easily available if we had a question.

Mücken und bellende, jaulende Hunde

Das Haus war bei unserer Ankunft voller Mücken, es besitzt nirgendwo Mücken Netze... Wir sind, nach einer schlimmen Nacht los und haben versucht irgendwo Netze zu bekommen. Zusätzlich bellen und jaulen auf dem Nachbargrundstück Tag und Nacht Hunde... Das ist kaum auszuhalten!

Nice stay in the Tuscan hills

Stunning location. Disposition of the individual apartments makes it feel very private. We loved the private veranda and covered patio for meals. Big refrigerator & kitchen is well equipped (we shopped for everything we needed at the Coop in Castel del Piano nearby). Each bedroom is spacious with its own bath and standing fans helped make it bearable without AC at night. Kids loved the pool. Internet could have been a little stronger, but enjoyed our stay overall.

Spaß am Pool in schöner Landschaft

Wir haben gerade eine schöne erholsame Woche in dem tollen Haus mit Pool verbracht. Alles entspricht der Beschreibung, das Haus ist gemütlich und komfortabel eingerichtet, das ganze Anwesen sehr gepflegt und der Pool ist einfach großartig.

Tuscany 2018

Nathan and Gaia are fantastic hosts of this beautiful estate converted into private apartments. Our apartment was spotless. Nathan arranged a chef to prepare a meal at our apartment on our third day. It was a delicious four hour dinner on our private patio. Fortunately we discovered Carlo's wine that evening. He lives next door and his L'Erpico was the only wine we drank at the house for the next four days. Everyone knows the major towns to see while touring Tuscany...Nathan knows the small towns. Thanks again for a memorable trip.

An amazing family holiday

We stayed with our 3 children (14,12,8) in Castagno for two weeks. We had the most wonderful holiday. The house, pool, and garden were perfect. The children loved the pool which is larger than we have had on previous holidays. We loved the views of Seggiano and Mont Amiata from all around the property. Nathan and Gaia were really helpful, particularly on the wine front! Some great recommendations. There is so much to do around here, from small etruscan, hillside towns to larger places such as Montelpulciano, Montacino, Siena and Orvieto. The Duomo in Orvieto was worth the hour and a half drive. Absolutely stunning. Mount Amiata was well worth a visit with great walking and cycling and also a chair lift which was fun for the kids. Would thoroughly recommend the accommodation and the area for a family holiday. We cannot wait to return.

Fantastic agriturismo!

Fantastic agriturismo! After a dark,windy ride from Siena, the four of us arrived at the hilltop town of Seggianno and "Castagnastello" for 4 days in Maremma. We could not have been happier with our two bedroom cottage with a view of seggiano. Everything was perfect and Nathan and Gaia were excellent hosts. It is a great location for hiking, visiting vineyards, hill towns and the garden of Daniel spoeri. We would definitely recommended this hideaway!

A place to go !

We stayed in Castagnello in july 2013. This is a perfect spot just in the middle of olive trees and with a great view on Seggiano. We enjoyed the perfect house, the perfect and secured pool, the so beautiful sunsets and sunrises on the hills of Seggiano and Tuscany and the true kindness of Nathan and Gaia, our hosts. Thank you Nathan for your good advice on Tuscany wine ! This place is a great starting point to visit all the treasures of South Tuscany, a place to keep in mind, a place to come back... Perfect Holiday in Castagnatello

My husband and me spend our holidays in Castagnatello for one weeK in July 2013. We were warmly welcomed by Nathan and Gaia. The accomodation was very nice in tuscan style, clean and nice furnished. The view of the surroundings was fantastic, espessially at the pool. It was a very relaxing holiday and we will definitely come again. Very recommendable!!! Nadine&Thomas

Belle location et propriétaires avenants.

C'est une charmante location qui correspond parfaitement au descriptif. L'appartement que nous avions loué (vigna) était spacieux. La piscine est grande et sécurisée. Le paysage est magnifique et visible de la terrasse où chaque repas est bien sympathique. Nous avons été accueillis par des propriétaires chaleureux et disponibles à toute heure. Tuscan perfection!

We stayed at Castagnatello in the middle of a 10 day Italian vacation and it was the perfect, relaxing spot to stay. We drove up from Rome and enjoyed the gorgeous drive into the Tuscan mountains on our way to the villa. We stayed in the Vigna villa with another couple and it was perfect for the four of us. The kitchen was huge, the views breathtaking and the pace of life just slow enough to unwind in the middle of a whirlwind trip. Nathan was gone for part of our trip so we were lucky enough to meet his mother and they all took great care of us. The pool was a favorite spot while there and we spent every night watching the sunset from that location. The views of Seggiano were amazing and almost seemed too good to be true! The proximity to Seggiano, Montalcino and Siena were perfect...all under an hours drive! Also, you must visit the Abbey (on their website as a suggested place to visit). We arrived as the monks were chanting...an unforgettable part of our trip. This villa is a must stay for the price, location, beauty and relaxation! We were on the go non-stop leading up to and after this part of our trip in Italy and it was so nice to unwind for a few days. We definitely enjoyed soaking up the Tuscan sun and wine! We will be back!

Most enjoyable fortnight in Castagno.

We were extremely pleased with our fortnight’s stay at Castagnatello. The accommodation and the pool exceeded our expectations. Gaia and Nathan were attentive hosts, generous to a fault with their time and helpful ideas. The star of the show was the nearby delightful small town of Castel del Piano, which had all the charm and activity one could wish for, with space to enjoy everything it had to offer. In comparison with the better known destinations further north, restaurant prices were significantly lower and the mountain scenery more beautiful and less exposed to the midday heat. The small towns that circle Mt Amiata are there to treasure, but Castel del Piano is the nearest and best.

Little Chestnut

My wife and I stayed at the Castagnatello Country House in Tuscany this past summer. It was amazing! We loved the location. It was super quiet and peaceful. It had a great view of Seggiano and surrounding countryside. We took day trips to Sienna, Pienza, montepulciano, and Orvieto. We rented a car in Florence and drove through Italy which was very enjoyable. We were able to pick up all kinds of delicious foods at the local grocery store for meals. One of our favorite moments was attending a wine, cheese, and honey tasting with Nathan and his wife.

peacefull, easy feeling!

We loved the place, we are a young family and had a great time for 2 years we spend our holiday at Castagnatello! The surroundings are wonderfull, views are amazing. Gives a peacefull, easy, relaxing feeling. Lovely, clean, comfortable apartments, nice, clean pool with great view! Nice owners! Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena and Florence nearby (and more great places) Good restaurants, nice weather, great surroundings; the place to be!

A brilliant choice

A stay at Castagnatello is a superb choice for anyone looking to base themselves in southern Tuscany, or simply for those wanting to do not very much at all. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped and the facilities excellent – a large swimming pool on a terrace with stunning views of the surrounding valley and hills. Gaia and Nathan are excellent hosts – very welcoming, helpful and also discreet. Although a car is essential here, the village of Seggiano with supermarket, bar etc is within walking distance. Plenty of opportunity locally to explore interesting sites and places, as well as going a little further afield e.g. to Siena and Florence. Our group included a wide range of ages and everyone, without exception, was enchanted by the place. I would not hesitate to recommend Castagnatello and we very much look forward to returning there soon.

wonderful staying at Agriturismo Castagnatello. We were 2 families (Spanish and Dutch) with 2 children each. We've enjoy a lot with the house and area. Situated in a very pleasant area, quiet, nice views. Luxury house very well equiped, BBQ, summing pool and other stuff. Also we liked the person in charge on the house, Nathan. Nice person, serious, and able always to help us. Do not forget to bring a car!!.

Over the hills and far away

If it's peace and rest you seek then this is the place for you. Off road and nestled in the rolling hills of southern Tuscany, the complex looks over the valley to the village of Seggiano on the one side and up over the mountain from the other. Hosts Nathan and Gaia are most welcoming and eager to communicate their love of the local produce, from the neighbouring wine producers to the local honies and olive oil and the best places to consume them. The apartment was well provisioned and clean, the pool large enough to accommodate guests from the other apartments and the parking for cars not intrusive. You will need your own transport and bring a fan if coming in the summer months as the upstairs rooms get quite hot at night. Pienza, Siena, Montepulciano are all within an easy drive through windy roads and the neighbouring villages are delightful and welcoming. Rome is do-able on a long, and very hot, day trip if you set out early and the trip to the coast takes a good 90 mins. Looking forward to going back off-peak for more R&R.

Vivimos entre Italia y el Reino Unido, donde estuvimos trabajando como científicos durante aproximadamente 10 años. Cuando nació nuestro primer hijo Alex, decidimos vivir más relajadamente y mudarnos en Toscana.

Castagnatello es una hermosa finca de piedra con un panorama maravilloso.
La ubicación también es excelente: estamos entre la Val d'Orcia (Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO) y la montaña Amiata.
Por último, pero no menos importante, estamos a solo una hora de la playa.
