Great location but outdated condo and poor service from rental company. The location is fantastic, but the condo had a very strong order of mildew. Cabinets and closets all smelled of it. I had to open the sliding door to air it out. The bathroom plumbing needs attention as the tub wouldn’t drain when taking a shower so soap and sand collected in the bottom and took forever to rinse out. Rental company emails were choppy with incomplete or inaccurate information. So much so that I was worried I was being scammed. They told me I didn’t need a parking pass, but then I came out to a notice on my car that it would be towed if I didn’t get a pass. I sent that to them and they never responded. There was very little information shared at all in messages or posted inside the condo. It was like it had not been rented before.

Awesome condo- close to beach access

We really enjoyed this condo. It was super clean which is one of our top priorities!!! Very spacious and not crowded, perfect for my family of 5 and my Mom & her husband! Love having the ability to cook, store our food and drinks, & have a washer and dryer!! Would definitely stay here again !! We loved OKI & Southport!

Very Cute Condo

Excellent location and very clean. Just wish we had a better view of the ocean from our balcony. It’s not really ocean view like I thought.

Needs a Little Love

The unit and the overall property is not well maintained. In the unit the vertical blinds in the living room and master bedroom had missing slats and loose slats that fall if you attempt to move them. The sliding door from the Living Room to the balcony would not lock. None of the sinks had a drain stopper installed. Outside the unit all the lights were out in the stairwell. The elevator pit was full of water. Each time the elevator went up from the ground level, water could be heard dropping off the elevator. The unit was generally clean, but in need of a deep clean. Toilet paper is not supplied which is inconvenient for travelers (there is actually 1 roll of TP and one roll of paper towels in a starter bag they give you). Linens are provided, but the beds are not made, which is another inconvenience after a long day of travel. You get one dish cloth, and one set of paper thin bath towels per bed. Lastly, the correspondence from the management company is much too legalistic. Door code expires precisely at 10:00 am on checkout day.

Great place, fantastic time!

Wow, just wow! From the moment we walked into the condo our family wished it was ours! We checked all mattresses before we put on provided sheets(wrapped in plastic on bed), both were clean. ++The beds were extra comfy++, & pillows and blankets galore! I did have to clean showers and I made sure to wipe everything down before we used any surfaces. That’s just me though. Pool was great, short walk to the beach. Definitely check out Pelican’s seafood only a short walk from the condo! Wonderful, wonderful time!

Great Family Spot

The overall process from start to finish was very easy. Once we settled on a property we reserved and paid the reservation fee. We paid the final fee early so we would be done with it. My only issue with the process was that our payments did not post to the VRBO site. Not sure how that is managed but when I brought it up with the property manager she emailed me the statement showing a breakdown of all fees and all payments processed with a $0 balance due. We received the door code the day before we left which was great. The check in process provided all the necessary information. The property was beautiful and well maintained. The pool was a plus and it was a very short walk to the beach. My only suggestion is that there should be more dinnerware (forks & spoons) not sure if items have disappeared over the years, and larger food storage containers. Everything else was provided in sufficient quantity. Check out email and process were very helpful. I left my purse in the unit and didn’t realize until we had already cleared out the code. We called the management office and they gave us a temporary code to go back in and get it. A big thank you to them. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to others. Thank you for a great family vacation.

Great condo

This second floor condo was great. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook a meal. I will say just to be aware that there are no bathtubs in the condo so if you need to bathe children bring your own tub!

Well appointed condo

Great location and very updated unit. Had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. Very close to the beach and access to a pool was also a plus. Unfortunately they were not pet friendly as stated in the VRBO listing so we had to scramble at the last minute for accommodations for our two senior dogs Otherwise a perfect location.

Family Vacation 2018

Family Loved our Condo. Had only 1 issue with the Lock on the Front Door. Made 1 phone call, and the maintenance department responded right away. Rooms were very nice. Kids had a great time at the pool, and the ocean was only a 5 min walk. Will definitely come back to Oak Island and the future, and will not hesitate to use Better Beach Rentals. Nice, large condo.

Large, nice layout. Lots of pots, pans and just about everything you could want/need in the kitchen. Nice ,large pool with plenty of seating. One block from the beach. Would definitely stay here again. The cleaning company doesn't do a very good job, but overall it wasn't too bad. Would recommend to family and friends. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful condo.

Beautiful property. Issues with cleanliness.

The condo is beautiful and looks better in person. It is located within a short walking distance from the beach, restaurants and small shops. The kitchen was fully stocked and had all of the dishes and eating utensils that we needed. The property management company responded timely to my complaint. The only reason why I am not giving it five stars is because the mattress pad in one of the bedrooms had stains all over it. The sofa bed was also very dirty. It had sand, pet hair, and hair accessories all over it. When I reported these items, I received a call back within a few hours and the property management company took care of them. The Wi-Fi service was sporadic. We were able to connect to Wi-Fi using a network that was not provided in our check-in instructions.
