Encantadora cabaña totalmente equipada con playa privada cerca del Parque Nacional Acadia

Esta es una propiedad boscosa ubicada en aguas profundas frente al mar de la bahía de Union River. Los visitantes pueden caminar fácilmente a aproximadamente 550 pies de playa privada que proporciona acceso para lanzar kayaks, canoas y tablas de paddle. Las águilas calvas, águilas pescadoras, bribones, patos, cormoranes, garzas azules grandes y focas comunes comúnmente nos favorecen con visitas. As usual, we had a wonderful stay. Brant and Maggie are great hosts. The cottage is comfortable and relaxing and the location is great for heading out for adventures or into town. We love staying here. Till next summer!

The loon cottage was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there for our week visit. Brant and Maggie are gracious hosts. We enjoyed our visits with Brant and dogs Millie and Angel. The dog friendliness of the cottage was great for us with a perfect beach (that our toddler loved too!) and trails to walk. Location is central to many amenities, sites and restaurants. We will be back!

This was our second stay at Brant's place, which I hope will convey how much we enjoyed our first visit. The location of the property makes for easy travel to the main hiking trails in Acadia and to Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor. The house is well-appointed and roomy and is a couple of minute walk to a long rocky beach by the bay, which my wife and dog both swam in. Brant is warm and friendly and responsive to questions or requests. He has two friendly dogs that our dog had a lot of fun playing with.

Amazing setting - close to Acadia and Schoodic

If you are looking to get away and enjoy nature, this is the perfect place! The hosts are amazing and do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a lovely private beach with beautiful sunsets that is perfect for reading and relaxing. The location is great too, only minutes from the town of Ellsworth and half an hour to Bar Harbor and the hiking trails of Acadia.

Small slice of heaven

We loved our stay at this cottage. Great location, Close enough to easily get to Acadia, far enough to escape the crowds at the end of the day. After a day of being in the park, it was nice to come home and sit on the beach while our kids played on the rocks and in the water. Our kids loved exploring the property and the beach. Brant and Maggie are great hosts.

Fun Maine Getaway

My husband and I loved spending two weeks at this cozy quiet cabin in the woods. Our dog really enjoyed the freedom to wade in the water and to explore the woods and beach on the property. We used the cabin as a convenient base for hikes in Acadia and exploring nearby towns and restaurants. Brant and Maggie were wonderful hosts. They were very helpful with offering suggestions for restaurants, hikes and shops. We hope to return!

Loon Cottage

Nice quiet location about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor & Bass Harbor & 45 minutes to Schoodic Peninsula (highly recommend). Place was very clean. It is located in woods but follow a short mulched path to Bay front beach area. Our dog loved her daily morning swim even though water was about 50 degrees. Our 2nd trip to ANP, and we don’t plan on cooking, but liked the comfortable bed, washer/dryer, and that it was a small home. Brant showed us how everything worked upon arrival, and made sure we knew he was available if we needed help/had questions. His home is also on 12-acre property but we had our privacy. After spending our days exploring the area, nice to come back to quiet home.

Loon Cottage is a Gem

Wow, what an incredible place! Loon Cove Cottage is truly a treasure and I am so grateful that we got to spend our vacation there. Brant and Maggie are incredible hosts. They are attentive, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the area- restaurants, wildlife, hiking trails, and more! Brant provided detailed information about the property upon arrive and was very easy to chat with. He was kind enough to share fresh eggs laid by their chickens on the property. Angel and Millie (Brant and Maggie’s dogs) were the BEST companions on walks around the property. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean. It had little bits of vintage charm that reminded me of my childhood. It is close to Acadia and downtown Ellsworth- we highly recommend Union River Lobster Pound, Pugnuts for ice cream, and the Airline for pub food. The shower was hot with good pressure. The beds were comfortable- we slept well every night. We did end up buying a pack of two pillows from TJ Maxx. I have chronic pain and am a very picky sleeper- we left those at the cottage for others to enjoy. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, etc. to cook dinner. The den was my favorite room- great view of the forest with a lovely reading nook. The beach was easily accessible- we spent lots of time there looking for sea glass, shells, and neat rocks. There is even a bald eagle nest on the property- we saw the eagle often up in the trees. Thank you Brant & Maggie for sharing this special place with us!!!

Loon Cottage

Loon Cottage is a peaceful place, nestled in the woods. Mistakenly, we assumed from the photos that it had water views. It does not. As an older couple (mid-70s), the patio also came as a disappointment. It is a gravel area, down three unevenly spaced steps, with no hand rail. Seating and stairs made the area less than conducive to outdoor reading or dining. That being said, we had a great time! Brant is a most gracious and thoughtful host. The shore walk to the beach is a beautiful commune with nature. It is a lovely private beach that our dog throughly enjoyed. We loved the rooster crowing in the distance each morning. Sunsets did not disappoint, and we even had a bald eagle sighting. Great 11 days!!

July 2022 Stay

Our family of five had the most amazing vacation at Loon Cottage. Maggie and Brant were the best hosts and helped shape our stay into a lifelong memory for our family. They were very responsive to our questions and thorough when we checked in to make sure everything would go smoothly. They genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. The cottage is perfect for a family of five and a dog. It was very well stocked with everything we needed upon arrival. The location is great for access to Acadia and all that down east has to offer. And for just relaxing, the short walk to the beach is along a well maintained mulched trail. The view at the water is stunning and the sunsets are absolutly incredible. The kids played on the large rocks and even swam on the warmer days. We spent many hours beech combing and found all kinds of sea glass and interesting souvenirs. Starfish, crabs, harbor seals, bald eagles, osprey, deer, and much more nature to enjoy watching on the property. We hope to make it back soon!

Amazing stay

Super clean, with all details taken care off. There was nothing missing. We visited with 2 girls (9,11) and the house had enough space to be together or find space apart. We ate breakfast at home most days, the kitchen is fully stocked and very clean. The den was very cute especially if you have to do a bit of work. Wifi was great, while verizon was spotty. Very comfortable beds. We did not swim (partly because the air was already chilly, partly because the bottom was pebbly, mostly because we were elsewhere most of the day). But we hung out by the water after dinner daily. Skipped rocks, tried to fish (no luck), watched the sunset, smelled the salty air. The cottage is not waterfront but a beautiful short walk through the woods or the owners property. The woods open up to a field with wild flowers - amazing. There are great lobster places (trenton bridge and union bay lobster pot) we frequented. The parks and bar harbor are a drive (30 mins or so), but coming back to this gem in the woods was great!

From start to finish this was a fantastic stay. Brant and Maggie were very welcoming, and so were the two dogs. They gave us a tour of the guest house and the property. The guest house is surrounded by trees, it is quiet, and all the amenities and features were as described. The beach is a very short walk on clear path around the main house. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, harbor seals and sea glass from the beach. It felt like being in a postcard and we called it home for the 7 days we stayed there. It’s located in Trenton, which makes it easy to access the surroundings, including Acadia and Schoodic. It’s 12 minutes from Ellsworth which has everything you need, plus a good crafting scene, and 23 minutes to Bar Harbor which, along with Acadia Natl Park, is absolutely worth visiting. Brant and Maggie also had good recommendations of what to visit and where to eat.
