I can’t say enough nice things about both my experience here and the property itself. If you are staying in St. Augustine, staying here will enrich your time enormously. Meeting the property owner, David, is just as lovely as the property. Our experience here was one I’ll never forget. As soon as I shut the door, I was making plans to come back.

We had a wonderful stay here! This place has all the character and charm of historic St. Augustine, with the sounds and the smells. We spent quite a bit of time on the balcony, enjoying the sounds of the horse-drawn carriages, taking in all the delicious fragrances of nearby food and watching the tour trolleys go by. As everyone else has said, the location couldn’t be better. It’s a peaceful haven in the middle of a charming, bustling festive city! The host, David was very nice and accommodating. Definitely a fantastic experience all around!

This is our fifth Vrbo and this is absolutely the best one. Not only did it meet, but it exceeded our expectations. Fabulous location! Roomy and beautifully decorated. Our own private tropical courtyard. Host David and Libby were amazing. Will definitely return!

Family Trip

We stayed here 5 nights in June, 2025 with our adult son. This location is fabulous and we enjoyed the house so much. You actually get the entire shotgun style house which runs the length of the 4 garages underneath. You also have beautiful large gardens on both ends of the house to yourself which I really enjoyed. You will not need to drive anywhere here unless you're going to the beach. All of historic St. Augustine, many many restaurants and bars, shopping and art galleries are within walking distance. I was worried that the house would be hot because it is an older dwelling and we went in June. It was very comfortable....not hot at all. Amenities are everything you need, including plenty of kitchen ware. Beds, bedding and towels were very comfortable. We met the owners on our last day and discovered they live in the house that this house shares property with. They were very kind and we will be back for sure!

Overall the Banta House is one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed at. The unit is very clean, well maintained and has all the amenities required. Our host was excellent! Perfect location to walk around old town St Augustine. This rental is definitely an A!!

Best location and comfort

Can’t beat the location is just the beginning of this wonderful home! Comfortable beds, great a/c, everything you would need if you wanted to cook in….but so close to wonderful restaurants you might not want to! Loved our stay and our hosts were top notch! Highly recommend!

You Won't be Disappointed

This place is perfect. The house is beautiful, well stocked kitchen, great towels & beds. Location is unbeatable, close to everything. The outside garden area is unbelievable, when I saw the VRBO pic, I messaged the owner & asked who am I sharing this with, David said, it's all yours. it is a true bonus & the porch from living room has a nice view.David & Libby are great hosts. Very helpful & just fun to talk to. This is the place!!!!!!!!

Charming and perfect.

Two couples on a short 4 night getaway. This place was perfect. Very clean, super charming and the location could not be better. Walk to everything the Old Town has to offer. Very eclectic with wonderful fun artwork and furnishings. David, the owner could not have been more helpful and kind. Happy to answer questions and make recommendations, which were all great ones. It’s a lovely place, perfect for our needs. And don’t forget about the enclosed garden. So lush with a water feature, beautiful plants and trees. Excellent spot for Al fresco dining or a glass of wine at the end of the day. Highly recommend!!

Night of Lights

This location is in the middle of all of the excitement! Easy walk to everything. The place it decorated amazingly. It was very comfortable and relaxing! The owner was very attentive and recommended a great place for dinner. We would love to go back.
