Hi Mike, Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry the programmable thermostat was frustrating for you. It wasn't reset after the guests who were ther previous to you. I wish you had contacted me for instruction on how to program it to hold your preferred temperature. I'll compose detailed instructions for future guests. We do live in the residence but open the house up to guests as we have a vacation home on the coast where we can stay when the house is rented. We haven't received negative feedback regarding our belongings previously. I'll also make certain that the condiments on the door of the refrigerator and the freezer are empty going forward. Thank you for leaving the house so orderly! I could barely tell you had been there when I returned. We'd love to have you back if you return to the area. Jayne

Flora, It is unfortunate that you found the accommodations not to your liking. Previous reviews on both VRBO and AirBNB differ greatly with your opinion (hence the “exceptional” rating) and I would ask that potential renters please read all of my reviews before making a decision to book. It is true that we split our time between the Greensboro house and a residence on the NC coast, so we do have some of our personal belongings in the closets/drawers, but the majority of the space is open to our guests. You can clearly see from our listing photos that there are drapes in the formal living room and a shade in the full bath on the front of the house, but all of the other windows do not have window coverings. The house is on an acre, golf course lot that is wooded, offering ample privacy. The bedroom windows are awning windows which also allow for privacy. The house does offer a split floor plan, with two bedrooms on one side and the main bedroom on the other, which is normally considered a desirable feature. I keep bug spray and citronella torches on the patio to address the bugs, which are just a part of outdoor living in North Carolina. I had left the house just prior to your arrival and I did not notice a musty, old smell, but I have a Bluetooth cold air nebulizing fragrance diffuser to ensure the house smells fresh. My husband is a master carpenter and the garage is his shop, hence the woodworking tools. My neighbor’s property is out of my control. There is a row of Leland Cyprus trees planted on the property line to partially block the view of the neighbor. Sedgefield is a prestigious Greensboro neighborhood and hosts a PGA golf tournament annually. I would not consider it a “remote location” or any of the properties in the neighborhood “Extra Creepy”. I did give you a partial refund which was not required as my terms are a full refund up to 30 days prior to your rental and 50% up to 14 days prior (considered lenient by VRBO). By doing so, I lost out on a full rental on a weekend that is historically booked for us.
