This was a terrific place to stay, very comfortable and well equipped. The host couldn’t have been easier to work with, a very easy process. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Great house for 9 adults

9 adults, mostly single, and a big puppy had plenty of room for game nights and group dinners, but also to spread out for some alone time. Everything you need for the beach, kitchen, sleeping, and fur-babies. Great location to beach access and town for shopping, eating out, etc. We went to the aquarium, Monday farmer’s market, rode the ferry, visited the Caswell Beach lighthouse, rode wave runners, had delicious drinks at Koko Cabana and Rusty Hooks, and got some unique souvenirs at Dunes Mercantile. Plenty of beach time and even saw a bonnet hammerhead shark caught from the beach. Wonderful location, well-apportioned house, and a great vacation with family and friends. Thank you, Lori!

Great property at Oak Island! Perfect location as beach is just a couple of minutes to walk. The house is really well stocked with everything that you don't want to worry about bringing. Even has bathroom necessities and beach towels. Lots to love about this house!

The Perfect Beach House

What drew me to this beach home originally, was how dog friendly it is. Let me just say it exceeded all expectations in ever other way imaginable. I have stayed in different houses in OKI over the years, but this house is by far the best. It is well supplied with anything you can think of and anything you may have forgotten to bring. I was so impressed. It has a very cozy feel and my family was very comfortable. The walk to the beach is very short and also extremely close to the pier. I was able to chat with Lori prior to our trip and she is a gracious host. She touched base with me shortly after our arrival to see if we had any questions. This was one of the best experiences I have had renting through VRBO. I will definitely be planning future trips to this lovely beach house.

Great house with everything you and your pups could need.

The photos in the listing do not do justice to the house. Lori has thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need. Love that the beds were freshly made when we arrived. Bath and beach towels were provided for both humans and pups! All of the basic essentials are fully stocked so you could enjoy the home immediately. Plenty of living spaces for the family to spread out. Fenced in yard was great for the dogs. We didn't need to bring any beach items as they are provided for you as well. Lots of games and activities to keep little ones busy if you have them. We'd stay again!

Comfortable Pet Friendly Home Walking Distance to Beach

Comfortable and open kitchen / living room space with great screened in front porch. All rooms were clean, with plenty of space. Would be great for 6+ guests. Short 1 block walk to beach was ideal! Our only issue was back yard had not been cut prior to our arrival, making it not great for our dog. But overall we were very satisfied with our experience and hope to return, bringing our grandkids along!

This property is a great location to the beach. Everything is as listed on the site. The house is comfortable, children friendly, and has lots of extras. We enjoyed our stay and the host was easily accessible.

Birthday Getaway

We had a wonderful time! Loved being able to see the beach and take frequent walks with the dogs. Loved the backyard and the house itself. We always enjoy Oak Island and have found another reason to come stay again!!

Always love our OKI retreat...

This is the third year we have vacationed at this listing. The host is vey responsive. They provide everything that you need in a vacation rental and more. The location is perfect. I cant say enough good things about this house and the host. We absolutely love our time here. And we appreciate that they allow us to bring our dogs on vacation.

Good overall, minor issues

We enjoyed our stay. The location of the home was great. Super close to a beach access that we could all walk to as well as the Ocean Crest Pier. Before our arrival the owner let us know that they had some issues with a water leak and this caused the floors to be very soft in certain places of the home. The air conditioning seemed to stop at times and took a while to get it to come back on, we also noticed that some of the vents on the ceiling of the home was dripping water from condensation. The refrigerator didn't keep everything very, very cold and most items inside were sweating / a little melty in the freezer. Other than those issues the house was good, there was plenty of room for our family to spread out and enjoy time together.

Pictures Don't Do the Property Justice

Stayed at property with our family last week. This is our second visit to Oak Island, 1st time at this property. This house was a short walk to the ocean. The house was absolutely beautiful and stocked with everything we needed. From the outside with beach chairs, beach cart, cornhole, outdoor grill to the inside with a fully stocked kitchen, towels, beach towels etc, too much to list. We had plenty of room. Owner was very quick to respond to me, and also with suggestions for eating out. The house is beautifully decorated. We would love to stay again next summer!!

Another great time on the island

Lori's house is always great every thing you need and great location short walk to the beach and everything else. That's way we come back twice a year.
