Ubicado en las laderas de Hualalai, el Keauhou Hideaway es un refugio privado en 2. 7 acres de exuberante vegetación tropical. La elevación de 800 'ofrece una vista espectacular de la costa de Kona y garantiza días cálidos y soleados y noches frescas.

Completamente renovado en 2005 y 2012, el Hideaway se compone de 4 edificios separados unidos para crear un patio encantador perfecto para los batidos de desayuno. .

Los tranquilos jardines albergan mangos, aguacates, higueras, papayas y cítricos. Además, vides de maracuyá, plátanos, hierbas y más esperan su descubrimiento.

Los gorriones, palomas, pinzones, cardenales y canarios de Java te despiertan con su canción. Es un lugar espectacular de belleza, ¡un lugar perfecto para sus próximas vacaciones!

The pictures in the listing do not begin to do this place justice. It is absolutely wonderful. Our family of 5 -my husband and I, our 2 adult children and a daughter-in-law thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My son was blown away by the design of the "house" - It was very interesting having separate sleeping quarters apart from the central living, dining and kitchen area. The courtyards were beautiful, and all walkways were under cover so we never got wet during a rain. The view was breath-taking. We tried to catch each and every sunset. And fruit! So much fruit! We ate, and ate, and ate some more! Papaya, mangoes, guava, figs, starfruit, dragon fruit, lemons, limes, passion fruit (bananas were not ripe and we didn't have time to ferment the cacao), etc. The girls were so excited to go out for the daily harvest! The place is absolutely wonderful and a short drive down the mountain - but I REALLLY had a hard time convincing my daughter to leave the property to do anything else! We only turned the TV on once on the last day - it was rainy and drippy. Most of our time was spent on the patio - either soaking up the sun, reading a book in the hot-tub, taking a dip in the pool, or working a jigsaw puzzle or playing cards on the patio dining table. We loved the place and couldn't stop facetiming friends to give them the tour of the unusual place. We truly enjoyed a relaxing stay on this side of the island after a busy time on the other.

The property was incredible. The views from the patio/pool/spa were unbeatable. We enjoyed the outdoor space and all the fruit trees in the yard. We really enjoyed the bird feeder and provided seed as it brought in so many beautiful birds to watch. It was a very nice space to come back to after long days of exploring the island. We were a family of 5 adults, so the separate bedroom situation worked well for us, but might not work for families with small children. Anthony was great to work with and very quick to respond and helpful when needs arose. The property is secluded, but a short drive to restaurants/farmers markets/stores. We all agreed the location was one of our favorite places we have stayed over the years. We are not ones to relax much on vacation, but this location really invited us to just sit back, enjoy the yard and unwind! Would definitely stay at the Hideaway if we return to The Big Island!

Great location and the view is spectacular. Nice pool and hot tub. What fell short was the lack of up keep on the property. When we arrived, the toilet seat in the master bedroom was broken and the toilet paper holder was off the wall. The property manager arrived to fix the toilet seat. He brought a round seat rather than an oval that didn’t fit the toilet, which remained the full 10 days we were there. The coffee pot didn’t work and it was two days before we got a new one. The TV didn’t work so again the property manager came put new batteries in the remote and was able to get it turned on. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t change channels, and they couldn’t turn it off without unplugging it. He said he couldn’t fix it because he didn’t know anything about TVs. The printed material and check in information said that the swimming pool was heated to 88 with solar panels. Again, the property manager that came out said the pool is not heated never has been and we saw no evidence of solar paneld or 88 There were solar panels that were for hot water but the first few days we were there it was overcast and we were only able to get one hot shower one day everyone else had cold showers. Had we known there was no back up for the hot water we would’ve managed our time and activities differently. This property has great potential and some wonderful amenities. It just needs some TLC.

Piece of paradise

The property was beautiful, the gardens were lovely, fruit, trees, flowers everywhere. Swimming pool, very nice and clean, solar heated, Jacuzzi could use a little cleanup or at least some bromine to keep it clean while visiting. Plenty of amenities, we will go back.

Great place for family vacation

This property was a good fit for our 3-generation holiday vacation. Each couple had their own bedroom with bathroom. The pool and hot tub were used almost each evening as we returned from sightseeing and touring the island. The location was a good midpoint for accessing many of the island attractions. Our only concern was the cleanliness of the home could have been better. The tile floors were dirty. I spilled water when filling ice trays and when I wiped it up with a paper towel it came up a dirty brown. We also noticed glasses in the cupboards were dusty/dirty and required washing prior to using. There appeared to be mold along the rim of the washing machine door. But overall, this home was a great fit for us and we enjoyed it immensely. I would definitely recommend to others.

Your personal Big Island Resort!

We cannot say enough about this property. The most amazing views! A meticulously maintained yard and garden! A variety of fresh fruit ready to be picked right off the trees! Swimming pool and hot tub! And one of the best cared for homes that we have ever stayed in. The bedrooms are separate from the main house and offer a sense of privacy when you need it. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal. And the Webber barbecue on site was clean and well maintained. The owner's representative was easy to communicate with. And the guidebook in the house was extremely helpful. We are already talking about returning to the island and this home!

We had a fabulous time! The layout of the house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed walking around the property identifying all the plants. But the view was phenomenal, gorgeous sunsets and on the few clear nights we had, the stargazing was out of this world. I would definitely recommend this property and can’t wait to get back.

Secluded property with wonderful views, but set-up not great for young families

8 nights here this June. Chose the property for the seclusion, acreage of fruit trees to explore, view, & private pool. Half the price of other properties with these features. A few drawbacks wish we had known when booking that perhaps I should have realized from the description: 1. Bedrooms do not lead out into one central area and one is not even within the locked gate of the compound. This made me nervous at night to have my kids in rooms that were not behind a shared locked gate. 2. Some windows actually are not able to be closed - all have screens. 3. Invasive Coqui frogs yell dusk to dawn and with the lack of A/C and ability to close all windows, they were very annoying. 4. The pool is small though sufficient. Neighborhood a mix of nicely kept properties like this one and a burned down structure where squatters took residence. Check-in. Asked for instructions the night before - was sent a PDF I could not open and no one replied to a message regarding this. Arrived at designated check-in time having stopped at Costco on the way (with frozen items) and we could not get into the buildings. Called the number listed - no answer. Called VRBO. After a few attempts, they reached the owners who were not in the state and seemed annoyed and gave us a code that did not work. After about an hour, a local person called us and gave us the correct code for the key. Loved watching the birds, good laundry facilities. Would write more positive but no more characters allowed.

Beautiful property + accommodations

This is the second time we have stayed at the "Hideaway". It is a beautiful property. Very private and peaceful. There are 3 bedrooms detached from the main living area -- they provide privacy for everyone. The main living area is extremely comfortable. A decent kitchen, excellent BBQ and a beautiful deck/patio with a heated pool and hot tub. The views from the patio/deck and sunsets were spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Best House on the Island

We loved our second stay here! The setup and location of this home is perfect. We had three couples and the separate bedrooms work perfectly and the shared space was great, but our favorite part is the view and outdoor area - it’s such a perfect place to sit and enjoy. We plan on coming back again because we love this place so much!

New Year's at the Hideaway

I recently stayed over New Year's with my husband, son and parents. We really enjoyed the view from the hideaway and family dinners on the lanai. The kitchen was well equipped. Stunning views of New Year's Eve fireworks all along the coast from the 800' elevation. We loved enjoying fresh fruit from the fruit trees and the property manager was very responsive to questions. We would stay at the Hideaway again!

Looking for a perfect hideaway with ocean and sunset views?

We spent a magical week at the hideaway! It was the perfect spot to get away, relax, enjoy family and feel pampered. The hideaway's accommodations were fantastic, our Nonnie was able to easily and comfortably enjoy watching the early morning fishing boats, local birds at the bird feeder, grandsons swimming, and the sparkling evening lights of Kona. The grounds are spectacular with an abundance of delicious fruits, beautiful flowers and foliage. We enjoyed the beauty and peace around us and hope to return. The hideaway was so welcoming, it's kitchen is very well appointed, we cooked and enjoyed our breakfasts, lunches dinners with a view from the lanai every day. The rooms very comfortable and there is a well stocked shed with beach toys if you need. Once you arrive you won't want to leave. Mahalo Hideaway, until we see you again.

Great little hideaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It was nice having separate rooms connected by a central courtyard - it certainly does not have a conventional layout and helped to make us feel like we were on vacation. All the amenities were there and the open layout helped accomodate everyone's different schedules. The fruit trees and gardens were marvelous and there was something magical about being able to eat papaya and limes harvested 5 minutes prior.

First Time on the Big Island

The property is really great, huge and isolated just as described. There’s tons of trees and beautiful plants and lush grounds which makes you really feel like you’re in a jungle. This was my families first time on the big island, and we had originally planned on going to Maui and had to change our plans with one weeks notice due to fires in Lahaina. The house has a main room in the front with a kitchen, living room, and dining room with the most amazing view of the sunrise/sunset which leads to the pool. All the other rooms are separate from each other which makes this a nice stay for couples. In our case we had children who enjoyed feeling like they had their own rooms to retreat to. There’s no a/c and lots of bugs, which I’m experienced on every island and all my stays outside of hotels in Hawaii so this wasn’t any different. The kitchen is minimal in supply’s, but it had enough to cook in most meals. You are very close by a few areas you can go on snorkeling adventures with the manta rays at night, etc. About a 20 minute drive to the main town of Kona for all the big tourist stuff. The property host did show up unexpectedly and walk in on my husband while he was in the bedroom which caught him off guard. Other than that, the trip was excellent.

Wonderful home, incredible view

Great place for our family of four. The view cannot be beat and the layout of the house was very fun — everyone had a lot of privacy and space. Well stocked with beach equipment and pool toys. Only a short drive to great snorkeling, good restaurants and lots of shops. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We chose this property for it's tranquil setting, view and climate - which is awesome at this elevation. The surrounding neighborhood has a laid-back feel, with coffee growers on the hill, even a chocolate 'factory' nearby. And, if you get your fill of peace and relaxation, 'Civilization' is only a few minutes away...

The Hideaway offers plenty of privacy, while still close and convenient to all amenities. Some of our guests compare it to staying at their own private spa retreat!

The main house (with it's 3 separate cabana/bedrooms - each with it's own full bed & bath), surround a beautiful courtyard.

On the surrounding grounds, we encourage our guests to explore the variety of lush foliage, flowers and trees. Retrieve ripe, available papaya, lime, and other fruits for a delicious tropical breakfast!
