Gratton Road es un encantador y bien equipado apartamento victoriano de dos dormitorios en el "pueblo" del Brook Green de West London en Kensington Olympia. El apartamento tiene techos altos, es amplio y luminoso y está decorado y equipado con un alto nivel. El apartamento está ubicado en una tranquila zona residencial, en la esquina de Milson Road, una de las carreteras más deseables de la zona. Esta propiedad es un negocio de alquiler de vacaciones dedicado y profesionalmente administrado, y no un alquiler en la casa de alguien. ¡Aunque lo hemos hecho extremadamente hogareño!

Este espacioso apartamento tiene una gran sala de estar y un comedor separado con capacidad para hasta seis personas. Hay una cocina moderna bien equipada con nevera, congelador, lavavajillas, horno y vitrocerámica, microondas y equipo de cocina completo. Hay una televisión de pantalla panorámica en la sala de estar con todos los canales de TDT y DVD. También una estación de acoplamiento Bowers & Wilkins "Zeppelin" y acceso a banda ancha Wi-Fi. La propiedad se limpia antes y después de su llegada y Ana, la limpiadora de limpieza, está disponible para una limpieza adicional si es necesario. GOOD: The house is comfortable and spacious. The rooms are large enough and the beds are comfortable. The owners are attentive. It's a good quality option. It was very clean upon arrival. BAD: The location is good but far from the city center if you're sightseeing, and train connections to the metro are limited (it's not very complicated, but it's not a direct metro line). The bathroom is small and has no electrical outlet. You need to bring a plug adapter. The downstairs neighbors complain about the slightest noise or footsteps (they have wooden floors).

Just in response to your comments on the location, yes that is true, most self catering apartments in London are not in very central London, there are mainly only five star hotels there! And what rentals there are there are extremely expensive. Almost no one actually lives in very central London, so there are very very few rental apartments there. So it is normal in London to have to travel a bit to get into central London by Tube or train. Oh and also we are not allowed by law to have electrical plugs in the bathroom, sorry about that, But all best for 2026, and happy onward travels to you. All best Hugo

In short: great host fantastic location roomy, well-appointed apartment a top-tier stay. Highly recommended if you want a nice apartment close to the heart of the city.We had a wonderful stay! The host was very easy to correspond with — quick, clear, and accommodating every step of the way.The location is wonderful. It offers excellent access to a nearby train station, making travel into the London Underground system (and other rail links) very convenient.The neighborhood is quiet. Our upstairs and downstairs neighbors were respectful and quiet — we felt very relaxed the whole time.The apartment itself is spacious, especially for a family of four. There was plenty of room to spread out. It’s also very well equipped for cooking: we were able to make several of our own meals with ease.

Great place, location and facilities

Spent 5 nights here and had everything we needed. The unit was clean and well presented, a real home from home experience. Location is perfect for exploring London and experiencing the local shopping, bars and restaurants.

Wonderful place

What a wonderful place to stay. Was easy to get around with the Tube close by. Easy to get to all the sites, then come back to flat and the quietness of the neighborhood was lovely. Owners had great suggestions on restaurants. Would come back to this flat again.

Basecamp for Extended Visit to London

My family of four enjoyed an extended stay at this property, giving us a quiet and well sized place to base all of our adventures from. There is easy access for multiple transit options, and it's close to Shepards Bush where you can rent a car for the day if needed.

Home Sweet Home in London

The managers were extremely responsive to any needs or questions we had. They provided detailed instructions and wonderful suggestions. The apartment was a wonderful place to rest for weary travelers. We especially loved reading the children's books!

Lovely flat in great location

This was a perfect flat for our stay! Comfortable, well maintained and centrally located. We especially liked that there was fresh milk and tea available on our arrival after the long flight. Hugo and Lizie were very accommodating and always responded in a timely way. We would definitely rent this again on future trips and recommend it others.

Beautiful and quite place

We had a great stay in Hugo´s appartment. The location is very nice and quite, good mattrasses, in the kitchen you find everything you need also for bigger coocking actions and it is near to many bus stops. We contacted Hugo a few times and he always answered quickly. Gladly again!

Perfect flat with plenty of room and charm!

We stayed in this lovely flat with our two teenage boys and it never felt crowded. Great proximity to shops and restaurants while still being tucked back in a quiet neighborhood. A quick walk gets you to the Tube or bus stop...but you can walk to many sights as well. The flat is well maintained with everything you need for a most pleasant stay. Try Karma right down the road for fabulous Indian food. We would most definitely stay in this property again!

Comfortable London Stay

Very clean and comfortable in good location, easy access to overground and comfy beds. Would’ve been good to know in advance that there was building work going on which caused some noise early in the morning. Overall, nice place to stay however little changes would’ve made a big difference.

They are supposed to tell us about that in advance, but needless to say they did not. So we were a little in the dark about it too. We have given them a ticking off about that. And also to say we are also doing a mini renovation at our apartment ourselves next month to give the bathroom and kitchen a new look and feel, i'm guessing that is probably what you are referring to. Great location

The flat was clean, spacious, comfortable and easily accommodated 4 adults. It contains all of the amenities of home with a fully stocked kitchen, all you'll need to purchase is your own food (there are some neighborhood markets in walking distance or Uber to Tesco on Shepherds Bush Road if you want to do some serious grocery shopping). The flat is located in a quiet residential neighborhood yet close to all amenities. Hugo was gracious and always very responsive.

Quiet neighborhood with nice restaurants. Close to overground.

Hugo & Liz's place was a perfect location for us go about London. After a very busy and tiring day of sightseeing, it was almost meditative to slowly walk a out of the train station and calm down from the quietness of the area. the apartment has everything you need to feel comfortable. we loved having the space to spread out between the 4 of us and the large kitchen table was the perfect center piece when preparing for the day or coming back home with a hot meal. the tried some of the owner restaurant recommendations and all were excellent! thank you for a fantatistic stay!

Prime London Location

We really enjoyed our family holiday in London. The city is coming back to life and this apartment gave us all we needed to enjoy our time away including a separate twin room for our kids. Well connected by overground, underground and buses. Lovely stuff within walking distance. What I would say is that a couple of touches would have improved our experience even more. There was no welcome other than a generic note on the board (not even a pint of milk), half a loo roll for the whole week, a single person caffetiere as the only coffee maker, no Bluetooth speaker and the TV had no Netflix/iplayer/internet capability which both feel kind of standard for 2021. Not deal breakers but just felt a bit stingy when you’re paying Central London prices. However, super comfy beds, lovely shower, great spot.

Thanks for the review Sally, apologies for the non in-person welcome, we did always used to meet & greet normally, however VRBO's contact-less Covid policy is still in place and they ask us just to leave keys for guests in the lock box. (Though apologies there was no milk and orange juice, there should have been, our normal housekeeper Ana was away on holiday that week and her cousin Josi who replaced her does not know the ropes quite so well, sorry about that). No one has ever mentioned the TV Freeview channels before but yes I think you are probably right about that - we will look into a shiny new Smart TV for there! Many thanks again for staying ....

Liked the neighborhood restaurants

Liked the neighborhood feel with very close pubs/restaurants nearby. Check in was easy. Be prepared for a lot of stairs up to the unit. Overall, we thought the apartment was fine, but definitely needed a deep clean in the nooks and crannies, which make a big difference. For example, the bathroom had toothpaste splashes on the faucet and the grout in the shower was moldy. Upon entry from outside the building, there was trash approaching the door, pizza boxes and tortillas on ground. Not the best first impression. Overall, I thought the pictures depicted a place a little different than where we stayed. Everything worked, but I would say it was just fine and would probably stay somewhere else next time.

Thanks for the review Erin, we're glad you had a nice time there but apologies if there were any cleaning issues. I will forward this to the cleaning staff. I also noticed the rubbish bin area was a mess when i went there the next day., one problem we all have to deal with here in London is urban foxes! They raid the bins all the time and scatter rubbish everywhere. You probably saw my signs in the hallway asking the tenants to put the lids back on the rubbish bins. But needless to say they don't always remember. But you're right it was not a great first impression, i cleaned it up personally the very next day ... but anyway apologies for that! I hope we can entice you back another time as the apartment is getting it's 10-yearly make-over at the end of the year ... Kind regards Hugo

Lovely 2 bedroom flat with character

Our family of four (two teenage girls) stayed at the Kensington flat for 4 nights upon arriving in London from the US. The flat had such great character, with the master bedroom on a separate floor from the main floor, beautiful wood floors and large windows! The sitting room was nicely tucked away on the main floor and provided a very cozy spot to unwind at the end of a busy sightseeing day or for those awake at odd hours due to jet lag. The flat was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Our two teenage daughters enjoyed having their own room and space. Thank you to Lizzie and Hugo for providing the wonderful fans. With the large windows and fan, we managed to be comfortable during the London heat wave. The recommended restaurants in the neighborhood were fantastic and very much appreciated at the end of a long day. Karma, Indian food, delivered for free! Bird in hand was a fabulous hip eatery where we had wood fired pizza, fennel salad, olives.......delicious wine. Both are not to be missed! Our only comment, which cannot be changed, is the distance to the tube line was about a 10 minute walk, which felt far at times. It is flat, however, and I suppose there is always uber if your feet cannot do anymore miles. Upon arrival, we used uber from the tube to the flat with all our luggage and it cost only 7 pounds. We were not there on the weekend to use the overland rail station of Kensington, but that looks to be highly convenient if you are there on a weekend and a short 5 minute walk. Thank you Hugo and Lizzie for your hospitality. You helped us kick off our 3 week Europe trip in with comfort. We do hope to return one day!

Sehr schöne Wohnung in Top-Lage

Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Nachbarn bemerkt man kaum. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war immer sehr gut. In der Umgebung der Wohnung ist es sehr ruhig. Es sind in dieser und den angrenzenden Straßen viele kleine, süße Reihenhäuser. Der Bahnhof Kensington Olympia ist in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Tesco, Tesco Express) sind in der Nähe.

Esperienza con luci e ombre

Prima le cose positive: mai avuto host così professionali (materiali informativi completi alla prenotazione, mail di chevk in etc) e veloci nel rispondere a ogni messaggio. Appartamento con grande potenziale: camere e sala da pranzo molto belli. Buona zona. Le cose (per me) molto negative: un tempo sicuramente è stato un appartamento di " standard elevato" ora non lo è piú e non è corretto descriverlo come tale: tutto quello che c'è in cucina e in bagno è rotto o sta per rompersi, il frigo è letteralmente a un passo dallo sfascio, le veneziane pure, il mobile del bagno poi è impresentabile. Uno degli asciugamani (scuro) aveva enormi chiazze di candeggina, a quel punto è meglio non fornire gli asciugamani. Le lenzuola pure erano più gialle che bianche. La pulizia dello stabile pure non è buona, ma qui l'host non ha colpe, ho visto che ha lasciato molti cartelli, ma sembra che i vicini non siano capaci di disporre la spazzatura nei bidoni. In sostanza, ci tornerei, ma solo se sapessi che è stato fatto un minimo rinnovamento. Cosí come è adesso, nella mia personale opinione, non vale più il prezzo pagato.

Dear Fabiana ... many thanks for the feedback, I have to say that I completely agree with you! And perhaps I should have told you beforehand that we are doing a renovation there in October to rectify the things you mention. Apologies, that is my fault, I had thought that the fridge and blinds would hold out for another month. But yes they are due to be replaced next month, we are just awaiting the new kitchen and bathroom items at the moment. And the outside bin area is also being renovated at the same time. Can we offer you a refund for that, I think that is very fair in this case? I will contact you directly about that... rest assured next time you come it will all be working in tip-top fashion! Fantastic Home Away From Home!

We stayed one month at this cozy, inviting flat. It was immaculate when we arrived. Very comfortable furnishings; great living room space to relax in. There are two bedrooms, both furnished well. The beds are super comfortable; we slept great. The kitchen is small but well-stocked. It is a walk up; no elevator. The apartment itself has a short flight of stairs to the MBR and really does not suit for those with mobility issues. Otherwise it’s great! The location was easy to get to, and in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a good walk to the several different tube stops nearby, but it was not a problem for us at all. Communication with Hugo and his team was great. All queries were answered immediately. Huge even went out of his way to make our flat ready a day early when a train strike derailed our plans and we needed to come to London a little sooner than expected. (Those train strikes can wreak havoc). Would stay here again in a heartbeat; just a wonderful, warm, relaxing experience.

Great place to enjoy some quiet family time at the end of the day

We really enjoyed our stay here. The local eateries are fantastic and it’s a quick hop to the train station for getting around town. Very comfy beds, and a sun filled parlour to relax in.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We always loved the fact Brook Green and Kensington Olympia have very cosy 'village' feels whilst still being in the heart of central London and with easy access to the rest of the city. There are two parks on our doorstep, Holland and Hyde parks, glorious in summer. You can walk to the heart of Kensington in 10 mins - so its very well positioned. It is fabulous for pubs and restaurants, very handy for tubes and trains ... and very easy for exiting London on the M4 or M40 motorways.
