Great location

A cozy place to spend a long weekend skiing in Alpine Meadows! Great location that close to every where. We loved to soak in the hot tub after spent a day on the mountain. Hosts are very friendly and helpful to accommodate our schedule change. We had a great stay!

Very comfortable and amazing location

The house was perfect for a getaway ski weekend. We were very comfortable, appreciated the kitchen was well stocked and we had a lovely time relaxing and using the hot tub after a long day of skiing. We also appreciated the log that was available for us to use if we had wanted to use the fireplace and it was the perfect setting for us to watch the Super Bowl. We also really enjoyed being able to bring our dog! Thank you!

Very Well Stocked and Comfortable

We loved this property. The owners were very easy to communicate with, it was well stocked (lots of blankets, pillows, books and games). The Beds were comfy and the view is gorgeous. And the property is maybe just a five minute drive to Alpine Meadows. Close enough you can come back for lunch and avoid paying the outrageous prices at the resort. Lastly, we loved that they are dog friendly and even had a dog bed!!!! We would definitely come back.

Best Location in the Whole Region

This cabin is in a phenomenal location which allows you to take advantage of all that both Tahoe and Truckee has to offer! The deck and view of the mountain are spectacular and the cabin is ideal whether you want to hit the trails or the slopes (assuming you stay in the winter months). Make sure you hike the 5 Lakes trail which is right down the street and there is a great trail for running near by off of Snow Crest. The cabin is also on a deadend which makes it ideal if you have children or pets. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need.

cozy fun cabin in a great spot

My kiddos and I loved staying at this cabin. The hot tub was fun. 5 Lakes trail is within walking distance. Squaw is down the street. Tahoe City a short drive away. The cabin itself is cozy. I was a bit hummed the sauna was not working. Hopefully it will be next time! My kiddos and I loved the deck the most! It is on the second level and perfect for reading, playing, star gazing…We can’t wait to stay again.

Quiet cabin

We arrived on a Thursday, and the neighborhood was very quiet with little activity. The house was clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The one thing the cabin didn't have was soap for the shower. That was okay because in the VRBO description, it stated that there were no toiletries. I cannot not think of anything negative to say about the cabin. I do warn future renters to be aware of the chipmunks and squirrels. They climbed the pines and would drop pinecones onto the deck. Watch out!!! I was almost hit twice by the heavy cones. Thank you, Matt and Kathy for letting us stay in your cabin!

Fun Ski Stay

Matt and Kathy’s house was perfect for our ski getaway at Palisades Tahoe. It was an easy 10-minute drive to the slopes. The beds were comfortable. And there were plenty of extra blankets for snuggling on the couch. The kitchen has just about any tool/utensil you could need. So nice that they provided toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent. Hot tub was a welcoming treat at the end of the day. Thankfully the driveway was plowed and access to the entry was easy!

Perfect Get Away!!

Matthew and Sarah's cabin is absolutely spectacular, the downstairs bedrooms stayed cool all weekend. Upstairs, was open and the loft was perfect for our 10 year old!! The kitchen was opened into the living space and was great for hanging out as a family. The upstairs deck had spectacular views, and was great for morning coffee. We loved the access to the creek and the short drive into Tahoe City. Thank you Matthew and Sarah for sharing your beautiful mountain escape with us!!

A great family getaway close to everything

Matt and Kathy, we enjoyed our stay at your lovely cabin home. Super convenient location for us to visit North Shore and river rafting on the Truckee River. Thank you for sharing your home with us. As other reviewers have mentioned, the loft was not suitable as a sleeping place (toddler bed) for our 17 year old son, who opted to sleep on the comfy couch. The hot tub was sparkling clean and the deck was terrific. Thank you again!

Looking forward to our next stay...

Loved THIS place.... (and we've stayed at several around the Tahoe area). It's what a Tahoe cabin should be, with a bit of old school charm and coziness. It had all the necessary amenities and then some. Loved the large fireplace and hot tub. Perfect for a snowy wintery night. But, best of all was the incredible view of the snowy mountainside. We look forward to returning soon. Thanks again!

perfect place for us

great house. located close to alpine and squaw. plenty big for just a couple. cozy and comfortable. driveway would have been a challenge without 4WD/AWD. look forward to staying there again this winter

This cute little house was clean and quaint.

My husband and I stayed on a 3 day weekend. It was on the weekend Governor Newsom announced California was a "stay in place" , so we did!! We were snowed in, watched the plows work and took walks when we could. The place is small and cozy- enough for 4 people, but with 2 it was perfect and lovely. We would definately return.

great old school little cabin

Funky old school cabin with a nice little view of the hills and good location down the road from alpine. reasonable price. no frills generally- but with a big hot tub and legit sauna and nice cozy wood burning fireplace- so kinda perfect for a ski trip. make sure to bring road melt in the winter bc the driveway was a little dicey backing out when iced over.

Awesome location, perfectly described rental!

The rental had everything we needed- dishes, appliances all in working order, beds were comfortable! The hot tub and sauna were deff a bonus! Plus they accommodated our dogs as well. We will keep this rental in our future plans for sure!

peace and relaxation

this house is perfect for a small group! beautiful quiet neighborhood in alpine meadows. we loved the hike up to five lakes, and the quick accessibility to the truckee river! and the location makes it super easy to go out to Tahoe City or Truckee very quickly. the house had everything we needed (minus a few spices, which we restocked). the hot tub was in great condition, and the new deck on the front of the house has awesome views of the mountains, so beautiful! really wish there was a grill, but i guess that might be a fire hazard so we ended up eating out quite a bit so we didn't heat up the living space. my only warning would be about the loft. the ladder to the loft does not articulate - if you're an adult you've got to be really agile to get up there :p plus there is only kids furniture up there, and the ceiling was pretty low, so our 4th ended up sleeping on the couch instead of the loft. some better photos would really help to make that more clear to guests in future. anyway, had a fantastic time! and the owners were super responsive and really worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. thanks matt and kathy!!

Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend at the Alpine Meadows Retreat. The cabin location serves as a good base camp for any Tahoe activities. Our favorite part was the hot tub, which was a great way to get warm, relax, and enjoy the trees and night sky. Also, the sauna was a pleasant surprise. Kathy and Matt, thank you for sharing your home with us. We will look back on our experience in the woods with great fondness.

Cozy Cabin

This Cozy cabin was great for our family getaway. Quiet street, great location, close enough to hike to 5 lakes without getting in the car. They are working on improving the outside, building a great front deck. Loved having our dog with us, and the hot tub was great after a long hike.

Great place to stay!

My husband and I had a great time at the cabin. It was comfortable and met our needs while we were on vacation in Tahoe. The cabin has a great deck with fantastic views of the mountains. The bed in the master bedroom was uncomfortable and hard to sleep on.
