Communication was prompt, check-in was seamless, and the accommodation was spotless and well-equipped. Edie went way above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The lake view and pier was especially beautiful Highly recommend!

Edie provides an excellent property with excellent service. She was available if we had any needs and communication was awesome. There is access to the lake and a quiet little cove to enjoy the scenery. The property was as expected.

First and foremost we would like to acknowledge the host who was wonderful right from the beginning. She was very accommodating to our requests, allowed us to check in early and check out late in the beautiful lake front apartment. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as quiet, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. She even gave us several recommendations for local pet friendly restaurants on lake which we loved as we were traveling with our beloved dog. Before we left she showed us the beautiful apartment upstairs which is for our future stay and it was absolutely gorgeous. Very spacious and could comfortably sleep a family or small group of 4-5 people easily. We enjoyed ourselves immensely between the fishing from our own private dock, and the quiet peaceful surroundings. Will definitely be back!

The listing description was accurate; the host was especially inviting, cordial, responsive, and friendly. Communication was excellent. We had a lovely view of the lake from our apartment, which was well furnished and quite comfortable. The overall atmosphere was very serene and peaceful. I hope to visit and stay in the same place again soon.

Room with a view

This place had nice clean rooms with a spectacular view of the lake. There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors or kayaking. Very friendly and accommodating host, Edie. Would recommend.

Peaceful beauty

The location of the property on the lake is outstanding. Views from in the apartment and then sitting on the patio - just beautiful. Also a nice dock to sit on. Conveniently located to restaurants on the lake.

Beautiful setting on the lake.

We were very pleased with the room which was clean and set up as an efficiency. Great Lake views. Edie is a very impressive host and continues to make upgrades to the property.

Little piece of Heaven

So, everything was so serene and peaceful. My spouse needed rest and relaxation, me too of course. It was an amazing experience and so peaceful. We will return to visit and find inner peace again. Edie, the owner was remarkable and there for us, love her home

Cute little get away

Perfect little get-away for the night. Wish we could have stayed more. Enjoyed watching the sunset from just down the street and the sunrise from the back patio. Watched some tv at night and ate a pizza we cooked in the oven. Sleep like logs in the bed. The host was easy to talk to and actually wish we had some time to sit and just talk with her.

Nice place to relax

The property needs some exterior maintenance. The upstairs apartment was roomy and quaint. I was not aware that there were 3 small apartments on the ground level. These are very small and not as advertised. Lucky for me, Edie offered me the upstairs for additional money.

Renters Beware

Beautiful view but the property & interior is very run down & extremely dirty. We did not stay for our full time that we paid for because we did not feel comfortable.

Sublime serenity

If you’re looking for a five star resort with wild nights if revelry you nay want to look elsewhere BUT if you just want to escape to a spectacular hideaway then THIS IS THE PLACE TO VISIT. Edie is an exceptional, amicable and highly accommodating hostess. I’ve traveled around the world but seldom had the pleasure of just being able to watch a sunrise across a placid lake, see stars abundantly on display each night, or work in an unfettered environment such as this. Picasso had his blue phase but if he’d stayed in Edie’s quaint yet lovely blue unit his hues would undoubtedly have been brighter. Simply a night or two will leave you refreshed.

Fantastic Lake Property

My wife and I were looking for an overnight stay on our way to Florida and are so glad we found this property. The owner, Edie, lives on the property and she communicated with us from the time we made the reservation and checked with us if we needed anything upon our arrival. The unit was very clean and met our needs. The view from our unit onto Lake Norman was outstanding. We spent the early evening watching the numerous boats on the lake while sitting at a table on the dock. The next morning we drank our coffee as the sun rose over the lake on the dock. My wife and I are planning to return to the property in the future. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quaint unit on Lake Norman to inquire availability.

Location , location, location

Main channel of Lake Norman - fabulous location! Owner Edie was hospitable. But apartment was disappointing. Uneven flooring; broken cabinets. Outside glass pier table shattered, and clean up was not swell, making the area unsafe. Dock stairs were slick and covered with algae, making rented kayak use difficult. We were disappointed, and would rate the actual place a 'C' at best.

I am asking potential guests to see Pams review which was the same week as Toby's and is reflective of most guests as Pam .refers to the property as Paradise on Lake Norman. Toby, As you know I had just returned from a few days away which is rare. I was not here and guests did not put down the patio umbrella which caused the beautiful glass top to shatter when the winds pulled out the umbrella. I flew in that day and did clean it up upon my return. Steps under water do get slick and not having full time staff and in my absence yes, the two steps under the water were slick and a brush quickly removed it. Water does that. Unfortunately you were here a few hours before I returned. and most guests are quite understanding. Cabinets? My handyman could not find a problem with any of the cabinets which are Solid Maple and of superior quality. Floor? No one, and I am talking almost a thousand people have complained about the floor? It is Luxury Vinyl Tile over cement and cement does not warp. I would suggest you and all guests report any concerns during your stay so a host has the opportunity to correct things as they can and make guests happy People come for the best spot on the lake, and it is one of the very best, and the serenity and privacy of the island with nature at its best is the primary focus and Pam's review below will say it all much better than I can Paradise at Lake Norman My husband and I came here to recharge and celebrate a birthday. Edie went out of her way to ensure we had a smooth stay. The view is just stunning and we loved the extra amenities- using the fire pit and the party lights at night. We also enjoyed the books written by Edie herself, sitting out on the dock and playing cards without technology. Definitely was a very relaxing weekend which was much needed by both of us. 8/23/2022 at 4:59 PM

The host cancelled last minute.

I was not allowed to stay in the home at all. The listing was available for me to book. I waited for the host to confirm. The host waited until almost 12am the night before my check in to tell me that the home wasn’t available for the days I requested so he declined my request. After my stay was rejected the home continued to stay on the site for others to book a stay for the exact days and times I wanted.

Nice view of the lake, but won't be back.

The property is in disrepair; first impressions are everything. The overgrown and unkept landscaping did not make for an inviting arrival. Dead plants and weeds in the numerous flower pots needed to be discarded and/or replaced. Most of the outdoor furniture was rusted and mismatched. There were a few pieces in better condition. The interior was musty smelling, and the furnishings were old, soiled, mismatched and not comfortable. Nothing like the VRBO photos. Cute stray cats roamed the property.

Lake Norman Apt.

Apt. cluttered, uncofortable & not what we viewed in the ad. The grounds were in bad shape. She decided to replace her front & back lawn with artificial turt & started the work on Wed. in the middle of our rental.I told the owner this interferes with our privacy. She said she would speak to the foreman But Thurs. AM they were in the back working.I spoke to her.They stopped but were back at 1PM. She doesn't run a rental property well & I wouldn't ever recommend this property.

Breathtaking view & very sweet home owner

Edie was a gracious host and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our accommodations. The check-in process was very simple as she met us when we arrived and handed us the key. We had the bottom right room on the end and it had everything we needed for our three day get away. The view of the lake was our main concern and we were extremely pleased and taken back by the lake's beauty right out our kitchen door. It was amazing. We were outside all day from the time we got up to the time we went to bed. Our priority was to have a great view of the lake and places outside to enjoy it. We could not care any less about the couch not matching the chair. Edie is working tirelessly on constant upgrades to the property. We will be returning soon...hopefully in July! 😁. I highly recommend Edie's home. You will not find a sweeter home owner than her and she knows Kiser Island history! The stories are fantastic so take time to get to know her. She'll be someone you'll always remember.
