Las Estrellas, self catering in traditional cortijo in Andalucia with views

There are two tastefully decorated apartments - "Las Estrellas" and "El Nogal" each with two double/twin bedrooms, fully appointed private kitchen/diner, family bathroom and living room and private terrace for dining and sunbathing; plus a shared outdoor pool and further communal terraces. Guests can benefit from the flexibility of renting both apartments if you have a larger group of family or friends.

Due to our mountainside location, we enjoy stunning and wide ranging views of Andalucian countryside complete with olive groves, overlooking the village of Villanueva del Trabuco.

We are lucky to live in this stunning area of Andalucia in Spain. We love the flexibility it provides, depending on your mood; you can either chill in the sun (at the villa, at the nearby lakes or beach) or you can be more active – exploring the traditional white towns and cosmopolitan cities – or go further and get energetic with walking, biking, horse-riding or skiing.

Your safety is very important to us. Due to our beautiful mountain-side location, there are steps up to each apartment and from the pool area to each apartment and their private terraces. Families with very young children, or clients with mobility requirements are reminded of this before booking and to take precautions during their holiday.

Wonderful place with wonderful hosts

We stayed at Dave and Emma’s place for a second time. We enjoyed the serenity, the pool, the accomodation and the really great hosts! It is a great place to relax but also visit Granada, Cordoba and national parks of Andalucia.

FANTASTIC STAY!!!

We had a fantastic stay!! Enjoyed it immensely. Our hosts Dave and Emma where great! They made our stay!! Without question the most accommodating hosts!! Property was clean and well appointed. THE POOL AREA AND POOL WAS PERFECT!! Great area to relax and cool off. Location is perfect, very quiet, but close enough to historical sites and restaurants!! Thank you Dave and Emma!!

Wonderful home in a tranquil surrounding

We had a wonderful stay at Emma and Dave’s home. The place has everything you could want. It is super homey and super clean. And in the most tranquil surroundings. We visited with our two small kids, who had a blast at the sparkling clean pool. Perfect location to visit Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada as well as the Sierra Nevada. Emma and Dave were perfect hosts! Thank you!

Magnifique propriété

Nous avons séjourné 7 jours dans cette magnifique propriété. Très bon accueil à l'arrivée. l'appartement est très fonctionnel décoré avec beaucoup de charme. la vue de la terrasse est spectaculaire. Et lorsque la nuit tombe la propriété s'illumine entièrement et le lieux devient magique. Tout est réuni pour passer un séjour au calme et en lien avec la nature. d'ailleurs il y a de beaux sentiers autour de la maison pour se randonner ou simplement se promener et si vous avez de la chance comme nous vous pourrez croiser des animaux sauvages. les propriétaires sont très discrets mais toujours là si vous avez une question ou besoin de quelque chose. La propriété est bien situé car elle est assez centrale et vous permet de visiter Malaga, Antequera, Grenade. Je recommande vivement se séjour ! Merci à Emma

agréable séjour

Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous, parmi les champs d'olivier. Panorama magnifique. Le logement est spacieux et bien aménagé et très bien équipé. L'emplacement est parfait pour visiter les différentes villes d'Andalouisie. Merci à Emma et Dave pour avoir partagé leur villa avec nous.

A beautiful place

An ocean of birdsong morning and evening; hardly another sound. Blackbirds, rock thrushes, blackcaps, a nightingale. Steep limestone hillside behind, undulating olive groves in front of the old converted farmhouse. Inside a clean and comfortable apartment, with helpful friendly hosts nearby. Ideal for a tranquil holiday in the Andalucian countryside.

Beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, gorgeous pool, friendly and helpful owners

We have just had a super week in this wonderful place. Dave and Emma have created an amazing holiday destination with stunning views of olive trees as far as the eye can see from the terraces. The pool was the big attraction for our daughters who spent hours playing in it. We all enjoyed watching the sun go down from the terrace overlooking the pool. We enjoyed a few day trips out - the highlight being our visit to the Alhambra in Granada. What a magical place! We also enjoyed hiring a pedallo with slide at Iznájar one hot afternoon. Mostly though we were happy to enjoy some lazy days by the pool taking in the stunning view. It is the perfect place to rest and relax and at under an hours drive from Malaga airport it is quick and easy to enjoy this slice of heaven after flying in. Our apartment was beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable! We all slept so well! The kitchen has everything you need and we chose to do a mix of cooking for ourselves and eating out. Dave and Emma are friendly and helpful when required whilst also completely respected our space and allowed us to have a very relaxing family holiday. They are very considerate and thoughtful too - the bottles of wine in the welcome hamper were much appreciated when we arrived late Saturday evening! We can not recommend this place highly enough!

A heavenly retreat with breath-taking views

I stayed at this beautiful location last summer and it was sheer bliss. Set on a tranquil hillside it has the most stunning views and every amenity you could want. The apartments are very private and self-contained and fitted out to the highest degree of comfort. Sunbathing by the pool (with those views!) was so relaxing, interspersed with a drink on the terrace - heaven! I would highly recommend this wonderful haven for a real taste of Spain.

Dave and Emma have renovated the farmhouse since we bought it in 2008, putting a lot of hard work, love and thought into shaping the house and gardens into a place where our clients can feel relaxed and energised.
Originally from Manchester in UK, Dave has travelled the world touring as a professional musician and more latterly re-trained as an electrical engineer. Dave’s sense of adventure, fun and travel experience makes him a great host, and he also has an on-site music studio to offer our customers additional activities.
Originally from Lincolnshire in UK, Emma’s background in marketing and a penchant for incredibly hot weather and sandy beaches led her and Dave to make the decision to settle in Andalucia and open a business close to their hearts.
