Overall, not the best that we have stayed in. There was mildew on shower curtain in downstairs bathroom, trash can was dirty, several light bulbs were out, the furniture is very dated and worn. The gas fireplace was extremely loud. Best instructions were in the comments from another guest in the guest book. If we would have had another couple staying with us, it would have been very difficult to cook in the kitchen and even be in the same room together.

Mini vacation

The cabin was great but the approach roads terrible with at least two large damaging potholes There was just two of us which was good as there were only 2 knives, two forks and 3 spoons in the cutlery drawer. I believe the cabin can sleep up to 8 so cutlery would be challenging The soap door in the dishwasher would not shut, but it did not seem to affect the operation of the dishwasher The lighting in the kitchen area was poor - may be improved by putting the two bright fixed lights above the cabinet on articulated arms so the light can be directed at the workplace Other that that a very enjoyable vacation

Great getaway!

Nicely stocked cabin. The property was exactly as advertised. Even some of the items that were suggested we bring were already there. Check in and check out process were extremely simple. We were contacted through text letting us know if we need anything that we could ask for through the number. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice stay

Nice stay. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. Decks are nice and you feel secluded even though there are cabins close by. We even had a bear wander through the yard one night. That was a neat experience.

you should remove this property management company from your set of listings

I wish I would have read the reviews of others who stayed at this property before I booked. The remarks that had been left about the cleanliness of the property were spot on and the management had done nothing to fix the issues that were on others reviews as I can pretty much say I noticed many of the same problems. Dealing with the management company and the cleanliness of the facility left much to be desired. There were mushrooms literally growing in the carpet of the laundry area. There were food wrappers and empty containers in the pull out couch. Some of the blankets were not washed. Litter was evident around the property. the mattresses of the pull out beds were dirty, old and uncomfortable necessitating someone to sleep on the couch. We had a smoke detector that started beeping after hours and after three phone calls to the off shift center, was told that smoke detectors were not a problem and I could either listen to the beeping all night, drive down the mountain in the dark and get my own new battery or take the batteries out of the smoke detector and chance any issues from there. As we were looking around for another smoke detector, we found a smoke/CO2 detector with completely dead batteries. We drove down the mountain in the dark to get new batteries and checked out a day early as I felt we were treated badly and our concerns were not valid. When I went to the management center the next day to tell them we were leaving, the clerk spoke in a belittling manner and reiterated the same uncaring spirit of the on call staff the night before. I asked for a refund of my last night and was told it was my choice to leave early so I should not expect any type of refund. I would not recommend staying at this facility or any others of Aunt Bugs properties. You should consider removing this from your listings.

Not As Described

This property is described as having 2 full bedrooms with 2 beds and a pull out couch. The bedroom upstairs was the only bed properly made. The downstairs bed had a flat sheet that was too small that was meant to be the fitted sheet (there was bare mattress showing). There was absolutely NO bedding at all for the pull out couch bed (no sheets, blankets, or pillows). We were left with a miniscule amount of dish soap to hand wash the dishes that did not fit in the dishwasher. I had to purchase bedding so my family would have somewhere sanitary to sleep when we arrived. I immediately notified the property manager, but was basically not productive in any way. It should be noted that when I made the reservation I made a point to let the property know how many people would be in the rental during our stay. That did not seem to matter. There are exactly 5 mugs and far fewer forks. No extra trash bags anywhere. Salt was pretty much empty. There were only enough towels for us to use them as bath towels; none extra for the hot tub (thankfully I packed extra). The inside cover of the hot tub desperately needed cleaned as it had red algae growth. I did wipe it down myself, but it needs a proper cleaning. The sanitizing floater that is in the hot tub lacked the necessary tablets to actually sanitize the hot tub. The downstairs TV is missing a remote and would not function properly so we were unable to use that TV at all. The TV in the upstairs bedroom is also missing a remote and was not able to be used. Fireplace works, stove works, dishwasher has some rust, but works. There is hot water and cold water. The ice tray provided is cracked from a previous renter and has not been replaced. There is no filtered water (so bring your own like we did). There were some light bulbs out in several areas of the property as well (or maybe the light fixtures are having an issue?). Overall extremely disappointed with how much I spent on the property to accommodate my family and then having no recourse on customer service. I would not recommend this property or any other managed by Aunt Bugs. Clearly there is a lack of standard sanitization and customer service (I have photos of all of the complaints as well).

Family Vacation

Appliances definitely need to be updated as the washing machine and dryer made noise the entire time it ran. The dishwasher is so out of date the inside was disgusting. The few items left in the cabin didn’t have all the proper working parts such as the coffee maker. Instead of removing the used shower curtains they were just cut from the shower. The mattress definitely need to be updated as they were very uncomfortable.

The house was very pretty from the outside but the inside was a different story. The website listed 2 queen size beds but only one was a queen and the other was a full size. One of our family members got bit by bed bugs. Both pull out couches were very uncomfortable. When you lay on them all you feel is the springs from the “mattress.” The website also has it listed that it can accommodate 8 people but only 5 forks were in the drawer. When one of the family members went outside to get into the hot tub, she stepped in glass. Beautiful place but definitely was not what the website had listed.

Peaceful

Cabin was located close enough to be super convenient to all attractions, but far enough away to be peaceful! My family really loved having space to relax after the busy streets/attractions. Beautiful, can't wait to come back!!

Adequate Lodging

We kicked off the New Year with a stay at "A Tranquility Den". The cabin was sufficient to meet the basic needs of four guests, but was very clearly missing an attention to detail that would have made it an above average rental. The unit was surface level clean, however, there were several things that need extra attention such as the cobwebs and dust in the ceilings and on light fixtures, broken blinds on the windows and doors, and four blown lightbulbs across different rooms. We enjoyed the view from the front porch and soaking in the hot tub at night, although it was a bit small/oddly short for even four average-sized adults. While the listing claims this property is suitable for eight, we would not in good conscious suggest any more than six adults stay here (and that is pushing it). Additionally, the road to reach the property was treacherous even on dry pavement in an SUV, so future guests should take into consideration getting up the small mountain road will require 4WD with any precipitation. Altogether, the cabin was adequate for the two nights we spent there but requires some extra care to bring it up to expectations, especially for the price.

Sweet 16

We had a group of 8 people. The first problem we encountered was getting to the cabin. The road was very steep and our cabin was at the top. The cabin was supposed to have room for 8 people but was prepared for 4. Some of the glass cups were broken, and there were only 4 mugs, 4 chairs around the small table. The sink didn't work properly and requires maintenance. The cabin itself requires renovation. Overall we had a great time. There was enough room for our group. The fireplace brought coziness for our evening, showers had a good hot water, hot tub was nice and warm. We had firewood provided for us. We enjoyed our time around the fire. Thank you for hosting us!

Nice little cabin in the woods.

After reading some of the reviews we were expecting the worse but it wasn't as dirty or as bad as people said. The inside of the cabin was clean. It was smaller than the pictures made it seem but there was plenty of room for 4 people. I would suggest putting your non refrigerated food in totes because we did have a mouse that got into some of our food. The road to get to the cabin needs some repairs and was a little difficult to maneuver in certain areas but it was worth it. It had a beautiful porch with nice views of the mountain. We enjoyed our stay.

Terrible Management

We had to call multiple times to get information for check in and eventually had to find and drive to the office to get this when it was supposed to be contactless check in. Cabin is not s good in person as in the pictures. Could have found something better for the price. Won’t stay with Aunt Bugs again.

Cabin was awful-DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!

The cabin pictures definitely made this property more appealing than in person. The cabin had so many spider webs everywhere. We had mice in the cabin that ate our food and a hole in my son's backpack. We found mouse droppings in the utensil drawers and the counter tops. I realize we are in the woods, but the cabin really could've been cared for more. There were no linens provided for the fold out beds. There were burned out light bulbs. The bathroom window fell on my husband's thumb and smashed it. We brought these matters to the attention of management. Someone brought us 1 set of sheets, briefly looked at the window and just told us to "be careful", brought us a light bulb and told us someone else would be out for the mouse issues (which they never did).I had sent over all the info for an express check in. I was never emailed or called with the information and had to call the office. They had lost my information. We were promised a free night in the future as compensation, which we never received. I have reached out to the company and have not heard back.

Short stay in the woods

Overall not a bad stay. Says sleeps 8 but not enough seating and room for 8, if I ever returned to this cabin I would not recommend 8 people. One had 1 trash bag. Had to buy some. Outside is somewhat dirty. Some hair on the hand towel. Otherwise not as dirty as the other comments say

Nice location and cabin.

My family stayed for two nights to simply enjoy being out of our home. The cabin was slightly difficult to find the first time but once we did the location was perfect. Extremely close to all of the stores and amusements. Very nice that the local Walmart delivers very promptly. As for television, it would be easier to bring your own roku to connect, we actually purchased one after arrival due to not getting the TVs to work and we are a Spanish speaking family so it was just easier. Overall I would rent the same cabin again in the future.

Happy, but won't rent this one again.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was a good fit for us 4. Hot tub was super loud and very dirty on the bottom and leaves. Didn't use at all because of this. Do not drive to this cabin for the first time in the dark!! We expected 4x4 needed, but it was a drive "up" to get used to maneuvering through. 1st & 2nd time up we was ready to check out because I didn't think our jeep would make it up again without tearing it up. Even with the insurance "they just couldn't move us." Very close to town though. Lights were pretty to see at night. Bring T-paper. Only had 1/2 roll in each bath room. Beds comfy enough, kitchen furnished enough. No dart board unlike the pics :( Nice stay away from all life's responsibilities though. Mobile check in/check out was nice.

DO NOT RENT HERE!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my 1st and last time renting here. The cabin's location is a nightmare. We couldn't find it easily. Nothing is marked properly. The view was great and it is a beautiful cabin, however, it was disgusting! (I have pictures to prove it.) The bed linens were NEVER changed. They were soiled AND had a child's underwear and shirt inside the foot end of the already made bed when we went to get into bed the first night. Mice droppings everywhere, dust, insects, the windows were not cleaned, counters were filthy, and the porches were not swept. There were no vacuums, brooms or things for us to clean up after ourselves with. This was a cabin intended for many guests (we had 5) and the table only sat 4, LR furniture only sat 4 as well. Pull out sofa bed had the most nasty stains on it. I had my son sleep on the couch itself which was very uncomfortable. There is what appears to be a video camera located at the hot tub area. This was not disclosed to us and we felt it was an invasion of our privacy. This cabin has potential with the right company managing it for the owners. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the most part we enjoyed our stay. That being said the cabin was filthy. My two year old brought me a fake fingernail that she found in the floor. The tv downstairs had so much dust on it that whoever stayed there before had written their name on the screen in the dust. I walked across the upstairs floor barefoot and my foot was covered in dirt. It was a nice cabin if it had been cleaned.

Cabin was ok

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was just ok Not quite as nice as pics show on line. Getting to it was a challenge to say the least. The dryer squealed so loud I was afraid to use it. Overall we enjoyed the stay but probably wouldn’t pick this cabin again
