Beautiful house and property

The house is just as advertised, very beautiful and in a great location. We spent one day at close by Dodge Ridge and one day just at the house and on the property. It’s quiet and peaceful! Barry was available to answer a couple of questions that we had. We were happy with our stay!

Tranquility

This home is so special! I've never stayed in a home with such unique architecture and landscaping. Winding natural walking paths with places to rest on garden chairs along the way. A rock pool and spa with a bridge path over it. The interior was gorgeous too. The sun sitting area with books to read while drinking your morning coffee among the greenery, was our favorite spot. Everything we needed to utilize the space was provided...towels, kitchen items, toiletries, seasonings, coffee/tea, etc. Abundant pillows & blankets. Perfect for out 2-family group to enjoy a relaxing New Years. Plenty of shopping right down the street but far enough away to feel like you are in your own forest. Barry, the host, was nearby or available by telephone whenever needed. He was extremely kind and helpful but gave room for privacy the whole time. We just had a really great time here. Thank you for your hospitality, Barry!

Comfy winter getaway

The house was great. Enough room for all of us to spread out. We enjoyed the house and the hot tub. It was stocked with most things. They even got the little details right. Some of the towels were dirty but we just washed them. Overall a relaxing place to stay close to snow fire s relaxing getaway.

Fantastic Labor Day Getaway!

Our stay at *Pearl in the California Mother Lode* in Sonora, was an unforgettable experience. The property exceeded our expectations and was exactly as described in the listing. The home is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need – I packed way too much! From linens and toiletries to kitchen appliances, serving utensils, and platters, this home truly had it all. The location was perfect, secluded and peaceful, with visits from wild turkeys and the delightful sounds of frogs in the evening. The swimming pool and hot tub were amazing, and we spent most of our time lounging by the pool, playing board games, and enjoying the thoughtfully arranged seating areas around the property. Despite the secluded feel, the property is still conveniently close to stores, restaurants, sightseeing spots, and lakes, offering the best of both worlds. The owner, Barry, was a wonderful host – incredibly helpful and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best stay possible. We also had the pleasure of meeting his adorable Cat, Dog, who added to the charm of the experience. Our family takes an annual getaway every Labor Day weekend, and we will definitely be returning to *Pearl and the California Mother Lode* for future stays. Thank you, Barry, for sharing your beautiful property with us. Until next time, we wish you all the best!

Women Getaway

Our group of six women friends getaway for a few nights every summer. This was an incredible place to relax, so very peaceful, and comfortable. The architectural detail is amazing. The host, Barry, was responsive and very kind ❤️ Thank you!!

Beautiful Home with Everything You Need

We were very impressed with the amenities and spaciousness of the property. There are lots of little nooks and seating areas to discover. My party was very comfortable here. Highly recommend.

Tranquil, beautiful, Amazing garden, and Rock Pool/Spa

Barry met us when we arrived to show us around. The house is was well equipped to handle our family of 5 adults and 3 children. Kitchen is very large and well stocked. Beds were all comfortable. We loved all the upgrades to the home. There are wood burning stoves or fire pits inside and out and an outside rock fireplace by the spa. This is a very special home with to much to write in this review. Highly recommend this home for rent as a retreat or family time. Absolutely lovely.

Perfect stay!

We love this place and have stayed here 4 times now. The house is clean, well-lit and comfortable, and is located on a spacious and lovely property. The kids love the private pool and hot tub! Though the house is very private, it is also conveniently located close to nearby towns, including Sonora and Columbia. Barry is the perfect host!

No an annual family treat!

Our daughter and her family live 15 minutes away from this casual resort property, and last year we decided to do something different by staying in a new place for a three-day. Hotels are fine, but we wanted something special and memorable - and we found it. We looked forward all year to repeating the experience and this time we had even more fun. Everything about The Gem suits us perfectly. It's spacious and tasteful without pretension. Everything is spotlessly clean and well-appointed. The swimming pool and spa were the highlightt for our 4 & 7 year old granddaughters. Making meals together in the spacious kitchen and then sharing those meals at the dining table came a close second. For us,a big bonus was the proximity to my daughter and son-in-law's home. We could spend all day together, yet they could go home to sleep in their own beds. The perfect combination. But anyone looking for room to host a larger group will be pleased with the accomodations. We hope to repeat this experience many times.

A Great 4th of July Escape

Practically Perfect @ The Pearl of the Motherload

This property is amazing and an idyllic retreat in the heart of the Sonora foothills. It truly is a Pearl hidden among the rocks and an oasis of water and wonder. With 3 couples and some day guests, the property was spacious and accommodating. The various gardens and lounging stations, the bedrooms and linens, and the well equipped kitchen were very thoughtful and nice.

Another wonderful stay

We just returned to this property for the third time. We are a family of four with a 10 and 14 year old. The property is wonderful - nothing to complain about, and if there was, we know that Barry (who is great) would quickly take care of it. The hot tub is probably the best we’ve ever enjoyed, anywhere. We look forward to coming back!

Barry's house is absolutely gorgeous. We can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool! The pool is not gated but Barry did a great job warning us about that.

Absolutely beautiful

This place is wonderful. Quiet, private. The house is large and comfortable, the kitchen has every appliance you might need plus staples if you’ve forgotten anything. The beds, couches, chairs are comfortable and there are multiple sitting areas inside and out. The pool and hot tub are fantastic, so much fun and so refreshing. We could hardly stand to leave for any amount of time. Barry, the owner, is gracious and welcoming and full of information. He was there if we needed him but very inconspicuous. We loved this place and hope to return sometime.
