Had a lovely stay in this cosy lodge with my family and our two dogs. Everything you need and close to train line into Edinburgh. The weather wasn’t kind during our stay so didn’t get to enjoy the grounds so can’t expand on that.

A wonderful, relaxing stay in a beautiful, peaceful environment!

We loved our stay at Chestnut Cottage. It's surrounded by beautiful countryside and so relaxing. It's also easy to reach Edinburgh by car and there's a nearby train station and bus stop in Gorebridge for reaching town too. The bedrooms are cosy but spacious and we feel right at home!

Another lovely stay

Have stayed here many times. Peaceful location but easy to get to Edinburgh from nearby train stations. Great for walkers. Well equipped . Beautiful linen on very comfy beds. Supermarkets short drive away.

Return visit to Chestnut

Lovely return visit to the wonderful Arniston Estate. Chestnut cottage is a lovely cozy and comfortable cottage in wonderful surroundings. Felt like a home. Good location for days out not that you ever need to leave the grounds! We will be back!

Wonderful Spot!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Cottage. It was a wonderful spot to see some of the local treasures like Cairnpapple, Rosslyn Chapel and Edinburgh.

Perfect weekend getaway

Lovely clean, warm and cosy cottage. Check in was easy and everything as described. Nice quiet location with the city centre 25-30 mins away. Thank you for a great weekend away.

Family short break

Beautiful surroundings, everything you could have needed and very handy for Edinburgh. Only a wee suggestion for a mirror as only small one in vanity area and few more sockets there. Always plenty of hot water, though found we couldn’t adjust heating. Very peaceful and would recommend to others

Great cottage wonderful host

Chestnut cottage is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need. The location on the Arniston Estate means you wake up to peace and quiet and wonderful view from the living room. Staying there was wonderful and despite its rural location is also really convenient for supplies and access to Edinburgh. I could quite easily have never left. Henrietta is a wonderful host and the cottage is a credit to the estate. I will definitely be back!

Perfect getaway

A lovely cottage in a quiet location. Very comfortable and well equipped. Plenty to do in the area, or just enjoy the tranquility at the cottage. Henrietta was welcoming and the information we received before and during out stay was very helpful. Highly recommend

Our perfect stay at the Arniston Estate

Everything was so wonderful and perfect. It was everything that we had dreamed our stay in Scotland would be. Henrietta was so kind and helpful, she even recommended a lovely place to eat and shop! The grounds of the estate were beautiful and amazing to explore. We will definitely be returning to the estate in the future

A very cozy stay

We spent a few very nice days here exploring Scotland. The proximity to Edinburgh is fantastic, but a trip to the Highlands is also easily possible. The cottage is small but nice and the fireplace in particular offers a lot of coziness. The kitchen is very well equipped and the location is very quiet overall. Thank you for the great time!
