A wonderful weekend getaway

We had an outstanding family weekend getaway. The property is gorgeous and spacious with large patio that features a hot tub. This spot does not disappoint and would be great for any reason. We would definitely stay again!

Great Cabin

The log cabin house is spacious and nestled back in the woods. It is peaceful but just a short drive to restaurant, lake, brewery and much more. We loved it and highly recommend.

Log Cabin Luxury

Wonderful place for a long weekend away from the city. We enjoyed the grill, hot tub and steam room; played pool, and rented a boat nearby. Our dog loved exploring the huge yard and adjacent trails. Great time was had by all!

Girls Weekend

Relaxing weekend with a mom and daughter, and daughter-in-law. We were looking for a relaxing weekend with reading, good eating and drinking and nearby small town shops. And we got it all. 1bedroom downstairs, large Master on the main floor. A lot of spaces to relax, the property is gorgeous. The kitchen is impressive. Communication was easy, quick and helpful.

2013 Winter Getaway

The cabin was beautiful, clean and warm even though it got down to -15. We also got 9 inches of snow and the property manager Tom O'Brian had the long driveway plowed and cleaned. Loved the Steam shower and the hot tub. Feels very secluded and well off the road. It's a very well built cabin and look forward to returning.

4th of July Gathering

Our family including adult children really enjoyed the lovely unique timber cabin. The kitchen is fantastic with top of the line appliances. We took advantage of the large deck that wraps around the back of the house and played games in the backyard. Our only critique would be to encourage a little TLC which would put this beautiful home over the top!

The place was lovely as were the grounds. The home was as great as it was listed as. Just two wick suggestions…. A note that people need to bring firewood, the inclusion of a cork screw in the kitchen…. And closer checking on cleanliness of dish. Winter escape

This log cabin getaway is exactly as advertised. Tucked away on a oak treed knoll, a private driveway leads up to a welcoming covered portico. Swing open the front door and take in the high soaring ceilings, a field stone fireplace wall, an entire glass wall that makes you feel you are standing among the oaks themselves. The open concept interior is balanced by an authentic hunter / fisherman lodge motif. Cast aside the chill of winter with a wood burning fire or maybe the outside jacuzzi or, wait for it, a real multi-shower head walk in steam room. With permission, the owners will let you wander the surrounding fields and woods. Bring your dog! Bring your own firewood as well. Oh, and don’t forget a corkscrew for the wine.

I regret renting this cabin, and I hope you don't make the same mistake. 1) POOR COMMUNICATION - The Monday ahead of the stay, I reached out with two simple questions about the property (what kind of grill they had and the exact location). It took two follow-up emails and a phone call to get a response, three days later, and the property owner didn't call about how to get in until the afternoon we were scheduled to arrive. 2) DON'T EXPECT LUXURY - The air mattress didn't hold air, the blankets were thin, a picture in the bedroom is held up by stacked paint cans, and the driveway to the cabin was unplowed/salted - the cars slipped and skidded, and two people fell on the ice. 3) SECURITY DEPOSIT SCAM - We left the house clean (with a few exceptions), but the owner created a nickel-and-dime list of imperfections to charge $$$/hour more to clean. I offered to come back to help clean and take care of the issues, but he declined (he'd rather charge the money), so we agreed to two hours of additional cleaning time *on top of* the three-figure cleaning charge you have to pay to walk through the door. His list included a dirty grill griddle (which we never used), a few grease spots (which we missed wiping up), and "sticks in the yard" underneath one of the dead trees on his property. He proceeded to keep nearly double the amount we agreed to, with no notification, then threatened to keep an extra $425 for a "broken statue" he claims he found. If you do rent, factor in the cost of his security deposit scam onto the initial price. Because you'll never see it again.
