After a career in media and theatre, I, along with my husband David, moved to Sagelat to fulfill a long-held dream of living in France. After a two-year search, we found La Banne in 2017 and immediately fell in love with the property. We made the exciting decision to leave London and start a new chapter in the Dordogne.
We knew we wanted to share the beauty and tranquility of this incredible place with others, so in 2019, we converted the upper level of our barn into a stylish, contemporary gîte apartment.
It has been a true pleasure welcoming guests to La Banne and meeting people from all over the world. We love seeing how guests relax, unwind, and fall in love with the setting - just as we did.
We take great pride in offering a warm welcome and are always happy to share our knowledge of the region, while also respecting our guests’ privacy by providing a friendly, yet unobtrusive service.
In 2018, we added two wonderful dogs to our family, Leo and Libby, who bring us endless joy!

The gîte itself combines modern, contemporary design with the rustic charm of the original farmhouse and outbuildings. It’s been thoughtfully furnished with high-quality appliances and comfortable furniture, ensuring a spacious and relaxing stay both inside and out.
One of the standout features is the balcony terrace, offering a unique perspective of the gardens and surrounding countryside. From here, you’ll often spot wildlife such as deer, boar, rabbits, and a variety of bird species - whether you're enjoying your morning coffee or sipping a glass of local wine in the evening.
Domaine de La Banne offers plenty of open space, and the absence of light pollution means you can fully appreciate the star-filled night sky, often catching glimpses of shooting stars.
