Fabulous 2 bedroom apartment, completely renovated, in the very best location beside Edinburgh Castle. Views onto Royal Mile. Every modern convenience. Designer fabrics, wallpapers, free wifi, internet tv, underfloor heating. Extremely comfortable. Quiet Bedrooms, Double glazing.

Situated in the historic Old Town of Edinburgh, this is the best place to stay in the city. The Old Town is a World Heritage site. Steeped in history, packed with museums, visitor attractions, specialty shops, restaurants and pubs. Edinburgh castle is 1 minute walk from your front door. This area of the city has a real buzz and is a joy to explore. This apartment is however in a peaceful location late at night with no nightclubs or noisy pubs. This a great place to stay anytime but a prime location during the Edinburgh Festival/Fringe or at New Year.

It was a fantastic location to stay for the Edinburgh festival. The check in process was easy. The apartment was clean and tidy. The living/kitchen area was great to relax at the end of the day. The only tricky bit is the spiral staircase which did not have a hand rail all the way to the top.

Rent this for the location

The location was perfect, right on the Royal mile a block from the castle entrance. Comments from others about the stairway are true; if you have a full sized suitcase or physical challenges don’t rent this one, go for the first floor.

Wonderful stay!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the apartment- prime location directly on the Royal Mile, easy access to many major attractions, spacious layout, and responsive host. The entry stairs are an adventure but easy to manage for those without mobility issues. Highly recommend!

This apartment was very much in keeping with the Old Town Edinburgh atmosphere. It gave us easy access to all of the sights we wanted to see. Our youngest family member was sure we had arrived in Hogwarts as we went up the winding staircase for the first time!

Absolutely great location! We (family of 10 - ages from 8 to 78) stayed in two sister locations on the Royal Mile and couldn’t have been more happy. Both locations were clean and consistent with descriptions and we enjoyed our trip to Edinburgh. We’re pretty low key and didn’t have any special issues but felt confident if we did, the owners would have been responsive based on the registration experience. Thanks so much!

Wow!

Stayed with family (all adults) and we couldn’t believe how close we were to the castle and that we looked out over the Royal Mile. Location was perfect, check in instructions top notch. And accommodations were perfect for our needs. The stairs were a slight problem for my mom (age 78) which meant up once and down once each day. Love our visit, can’t wait to return.

Perfect location. Finding it is like a quest

Perfect location just steps from the castle on the Royal Mile. Plenty of pubs and restaurants within feet of entrance. Finding the place and the 3 flight spiral staircase is challenging with luggage. Well appointed. Very nice bathrooms.

5 star location, be aware of the steps before booking

This property is perfectly positioned on the Royal Mile. I was a bit concerned about noise since the street can get quite busy, but being built of stone, sound was not an issue. Paul, the property owner/manager, was quite easy to work with and even granted us early entry since our train arrived at 12:30. Everything worked in the apartment and having a washing machine was nice since we had already been traveling for two weeks before arriving. It’s worth noting that the property description says that there is a washer & dryer, but the dryer is actually just a drying rack, not an actual machine. Fortunately the weather was dry, so our clothes dried overnight.As others have said, access to the apartment is up three flights of stone spiral stairs. This will be problematic for some. We (four fit senior citizens) managed OK, but carrying heavy suitcases up and down the stairs was difficult (and scary as there is no handrail after the first floor).All in all, I would definitely stay here again, but I would limit my bags to one carry on and a backpack.

Short break in Edinburgh

Perfect location in Lawnmarket: close to all the sites! Walking distance from the station too. Good for two couples, with two beds and baths. Really needed some more cutlery and mugs…but that’s the only thing really!

No place to park and the property manager never responded to my message.

The location of the property is perfect. The space was as described. We had a vehicle but no place to park and were left no directions on where we could park. I messaged the property manager/owner and he never responded.

Excellent with a little caution

Excellent location. Apartment as described. Clean, has all the amenities. Great for family or two couples. One caution: the stairs to the third floor could be challenging. Overall, our stay was very satisfying and has good value.

Could not ask for a better location! Overlooking the Royal Mile

Our flat was so well appointed and clean. We had everything we could possibly need.We had some cooler weather and also a nice wool blanket to keep us warm. WE stayed with our daughters who just loved the history and we all loved that we were staying in a place that was the OLDEST in Edinburg. Yet, we still had all the modern conveniences. It IS important to note, that this flat is on the third floor and we had to haul our suitcases up three levels of a spiral cobblestone staircase. Fortunately we had the benefit of youth with us!!!

Royal mile

Great location. Did not need a car, walked everywhere. Breakfast recommendation by host was wonderful. We were warned of the narrow curved stairway leading to the apartment which was a little difficult to maneuver with luggage but we managed. Would recommend.

Lovely comfortable apartment in brilliant location

Loved the apartment-it felt like home every time you entered from the amazing winding staircase. Check in process was easy,directions given spot on,communications with Paul immediate and friendly. The location was perfect as we stayed during the Festival and we were right on the Royal Mile,with everything and easy walk away.

Location, location, location

Unbeatable location for tourists. Literally right in the heart of everything. Stayed with 2 adults and 3 kids (6, 10, 12). Even during the tattoo and fringe, and despite being right in the center of it all, it was quiet and cozy. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep and curvy to enter the apartment. We had backpacks and carry-one and it was fine but large suitcases would be a trick. The beds were comfortable (though I’m baffled at how they got furniture into this apartment!). Bathrooms and kitchen area, and washing machine with drying rack, were quite handy. Great for a family.

Absolutely Fabulous

Wow!! Fabulous location on the Royal Mile in a beautiful apartment. We could walk everywhere and then take in the views from the large windows overlooking the excitement. The unit is extremely comfortable, super clean, and stocked with everything you need for a fabulous stay. Paul provided very detailed directions so that it was easy to locate and settle in. We're a family of five with three older teenagers. All slept comfortably and because of the wonderful location, we could venture out together or separately (I loved a morning walk for coffee before the Royal Mile got busy.) and others could stay back for a bit when they needed a break. It was perfect. Thank you Paul!

Great Location

This flat is RIGHT next to the Castle, with windows overlooking the Royal Mile. We could hear bagpipes in the kitchen window, setting the tone. The flat is nicely decorated and appointed. Although we were 6, it would be more comfortable for 4 since we had to move the table in order to use the sofa bed. Check in was easy, everything was provided as needed. We recommend it.
