A family break that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Brecks Farm - From what used to be a working farm and livery, Guy and Tracey have converted this much loved family property into a small development of 5 beautiful cottages, with an eye for detail that ensures your every comfort. Having previously been a joiner, Guy has put his skills to great use, including the bed heads in the master bedrooms that have been meticulously made by hand - this can be seen in so many of the finishing touches in these lovely holiday homes.

The Tractor Shed - encompassing two beautifully finished bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, one with a lovely big bath with a shower over and the other with a lovely walk in shower. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a restful nights sleep after a busy day having fun! Whether you have been sat outside having a family barbecue or you have been out and about in the City, or the countryside, you will appreciate the comfort that the cottage offers. You have a great sized open plan living area, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare for your BBQ, making a feast for breakfast or a much need family dinner. You can sit outside in the evening sunshine or cosy up round the wood burning stove - so many choices and all yours whilst you are staying at the countryside retreat that is Brecks Farm - the perfect family treat!

There is a car charging point in each of the 5 cottages at the farm, the points are a 16a designated supply accessible with a standard UK 13a three pin plug.

Guest's are more than welcome to charge there cars but we ask that they leave in the cottage a contribution towards the cost of the electric used.

Dogs are welcome at a cost of £20 per dog per stay. We would ask that dogs are not left in the property unattended.

A wonderful place to stay

Such a wonderful place to stay, beautifully clean and they have thought of all those little things that can annoy you in a self catering place like a kitchen not being well stocked with all the things but not a problem at all at Brecks Farm. We had family nearby as perfectly located to visit everyone and great to be so close to York as well. We will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Beautiful cottage

Beautiful, clean, modern accommodation nestled in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Easy drive into York city centre. Fully furnished to a very high standard. Tracey and Guy are very welcoming and accommodating.

Absolute perfect

We were staying for a family wedding all weekend and couldn’t have stayed anywhere more perfect for our family to be together. Everything needed was at hand from kitchen/BBQ equipment to ballgames for out side. Complimentary bread & eggs were welcome as we forgot to pack ours (thank you) and the juice was fabulous. Definitely recommend

A late summer stay

We had another lovely stay here (our sixth). As always, everything was perfect - the inside space was very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The outside space was so relaxing. It is such a convenient location for York and the surrounding area but has a very calm atmosphere. The owners are so friendly and have worked on creating a nature haven , with highlights this time including a little family of baby ducklings on their pond; as well as sightings of hot air balloons drifting over. We also saw hares running through the field as we took our late evening walk. We will be back again soon and would highly recommend this property.

An early summer visit

This was the fifth time we returned to this property and we have already reserved again for late summer It is such a convenient location, close to York but with a lovely environment surrounding the property Whilst there we saw an owl, a deer, a hare and swallows and appreciate the attention Guy and Tracey have given to making it a nature haven The standard of decor in the property is very high with everything that is needed, including a lovely outdoor area with flowers, seating, barbecue, so that we always find it a restful break We would highly recommend this property, it is so nice to be very close to York but in a peaceful location and Guy and Tracey, the owners are so lovely, friendly and helpful

Pre-Christmas stay

This was our fourth or fifth time staying at Brecks Farm - the Tractor Shed and our first visit in winter rather than Spring or Summer. We found it just as lovely and enjoyable, with wonderful touches ,such as our own Christmas tree in the property, beautifully decorated. The owners are so friendly and helpful and the environment is very restful and quiet, even thought it is very close to York. We always see some interesting nature from the patio and this time it was a beautiful sunrise. The property is not like a 'rental' property because the care and attention to all the decoration and all the furnishings make it more like a good friend's house that we are borrowing for a few days. We certainly would recommend this property and will be back soon.

Always the best of welcomes

Always the best of welcomes from Guy, Tracey & the team from their superb visitor care to the lovely welcome pack with local staples like bread and eggs to the Yorkshire treats - on arrival the cottage looked so welcoming from the lit up Christmas trees indoors and out to the roaring wood burner. The location is perfect for exploring North Yorkshire and we returned to Castle Howard for their winter and Christmas experience which is amazing!

Amazing place to stay,

We stayed here for a weekend, to visit friends who have relocated to Haxby. The nicest place we have stayed. Our only complaint was we did not get to spend enough time in the cottage. We will definitely be regular visitors. The owners are super helpful, the little welcome package was a super nice surprise. They have literally thought of everything to make it a special place. You can see the love and care that has gone into making this place what it is. Thank you we will be back soon

A short break before Easter

We returned to the Tractor Shed again last week, having visited for a first time last August. We found eveyrthing excactly as it had been the first time and were very happy. The interior is beautiful and so comfortable and well-equipped. The flowers and small gifts are a lovely touch. Tracey and Guy and their family are so welcoming and we enjoyed the Nature experience in the field behind the property. We saw a hare, a heron, some pheasants and a couple of hot air balloons from the patio area in the few days we were there. We would highly recommend the property to anyone who wants a short break near York and the surrounding area.

Superb

What a gem! We stayed in the Tractor Shed, which is absolutely gorgeous. Two huge king size bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. To top it off there is a log burner and, as we arrived in December, we were greeted by a lovely big Xmas tree. The owners are amazing, before arriving I received a phone call, followed by a WhatsApp message with all the details I needed, including a video about how to find the barn. I won’t spoil it, but there are some treats waiting for you when you arrive! Also, if you don’t fancy cooking, there is a country cafe right next door. Our experience has been exceptional, we can’t wait to visit again. 10/10

A short stay

We loved this property. The owners are very welcoming and they have done a fantastic job of making a property that feels like a home whilst you stay there. The decor is superb and many little details have been thought about, such as providing dressing gowns, good mirrors,and flowers on the dining table. The outdoor space is wonderful with a relaxing view at the back of the property and a comfortable and lovely outdoor space. The property is so well equipped and just beautifully done. We were very happy with our stay and will certainly be returning. It is very convenient for York but gives the option of being in a more relaxing and peaceful place than a city centre.
