LA PROPIEDAD. Esta villa costarricense recientemente remodelada ofrece impresionantes vistas de Playa Hermosa desde una ladera, terraza aislada. ¡Una terraza con piscina de chapoteo! En el interior, los techos abovedados de la villa con vigas a la vista y puertas corredizas de vidrio de pared a pared proporcionan una sensación luminosa y brillante, que proporciona un plano de planta abierto entre los espacios de vida interior y exterior. Esta villa totalmente amueblada cuenta con comodidades que incluyen aire acondicionado en cada habitación, WiFi, TV vía satélite, lavadora / secadora, una cocina surtida y una ducha al aire libre. Great location and outdoor living

Proximity to the beach (and grocery store/pharmacy) was a 10-15 min. walk, which was convenient and necessary. The shuttles around the resort to the beach were not as timely as years past.. We loved the splash pool and pool deck.

Perfect family get away

We loved our stay so much. Owner sent us tour options and was so easy to communicate with. Unit was spacious and perfect for game playing and dinner nights ! Loved the resort with super friendly staff and amazing beach

Perfect Place!!

We stayed here for 3 days to start off our trip to Costa Rica and we loved it! Super convenient to the beach and very nice to have access to the resort amenities (pools, bars, restaurants, shuttles, etc.) The villa was very clean and well stocked with plenty of towels and linens, kitchen utensils, and they even had oil and seasonings which I find so often rentals lack. Hope to come back!

Beautiful Villa, Great Location!

My wife and I were fortunate to book a stay in early December. The villa is in a nearly ideal location inside a gated community with community beach shuttles circling every 15 minutes or so. Villa itself is very comfortable, clean and with a beautiful porch and plunge pool. Owner provided spot on recommendations for restaurants and beaches and was very responsive to any questions we had. We will look to book again when we return to CR.

Accommodated our group easily. Washer and dryer were handy. Close to pool/bar. Patio pool is nice also. Availability of soft coolers, beach chairs, towels etc were great to have and use. Air conditioners easily up to the task. Chris was prompt to respond to any text from me. Would gladly stay again.

Relaxing Accommodations and sensational Host

We enjoyed our stay! Chris is an amazing host. If issues arise, Chris and his team are quick to address The villa is clean, beds are comfortable, and there are amazing sheets and towels! There are also beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and toys. The location is great! You have a view of the sunset over the water each evening and are walking distance to several restaurants and services. There is also a shuttle that will take you to the beach. If you want to relax, this is the place to be!

Christmas get away

Our family wanted a special Christmas getaway, and we're so glad we found this stunning property in Playa Hermosa. With two kids, its important for us to have separate beds and this property offered us separate rooms, which was the perfect setup. The amenities were exactly what we were looking for, and the proximity to the beach was ideal. We especially loved the veranda and private pool, which provided the perfect spot to relax and cool off in the afternoons or stay dry during a rain shower. Chris was incredibly responsive to any questions we had, even during our stay, which made everything even more seamless. This property exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and convenient place to stay! The only item I'd recommend is renting a car, does give you a little more flexibility to get to other beaches and tour the country on your own.

Loved our stay!

We had a great experience here in Playa Hermosa. The villa was great as we had a gated community yet close to Coco Beach. We did not eat at the resort or use the amenities as there was plenty to do in the surrounding area. We would rather go to the beaches than the pool. There is a pool at the house if you wanted. The property manager was on top of any request and the check in process couldn’t have been easier. We did local tours for atv, zip line and snorkeling, all were GREAT! Our host put us in contact and it was amazing! So glad we did it and loved every minute of it. We will stay here again on the next visit to Costa Rica!

Great Vacation!

First time in this area of Costa Rica and we were not disappointed. Chris was supper responsive. The villa was perfect. Bill was a perfect guide and Bryan was a perfect host on site for our excursions from ATVing to fishing. We had a little bit of rain but that didn’t stop of from Hermosa beach and Coco beach. The restaurant on Hermosa beach was amazing. I can’t belive it’s time for us to leave! Everything you need in the villa if you want to stay in and cook and grill which we did as well. Perfect Winter Getaway

Three weeks in paradise to escape winter! Villa was perfect for our group. We particularly loved the terrace with the splash pool and the beautiful views when we hung out later in the day to cool off before dinner. The kitchen and outside grill had everything we needed to prepare meals when not going out to eat. Mini marts in the area for some staples but we headed to Coco Beach to the larger grocery store twice to stock up since we were there for awhile. The beach has a really nice laid back vibe that we appreciated. There are some really good restaurants on the beach that we frequented as well as Gingers tapas just outside the main gate. The owner Chris and his property manager Bill were very attentive and easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Pura Vida!

Great spot in beautiful Playa Hermosa!

This is a beautiful property in a lovely resort. We stayed with another couple and it was great. The kitchen was well equipped and great to have two bathrooms. Lovely pool on deck to cool off in. Senor Bill, the property manager picked us up at the airport for a very reasonable price which was wonderful. Chris, the owner was very responsive. The resort is hilly which helped with our overindulgence on vacation 😉 but there is a regular shuttle to the beach and restaurant. It is only an 8 minute walk to the beach though. Did not experience any of the delays discussed in other reviews. Wonderful restaurants available on the beach and in Playa Hermosa- loved Roberto’s for breakfast, Casita del Marisco and Pescado Loco and Ginger’s. Recommend this spot!

Wonderful area, AMAZING sunsets, but not if you are physically challenged

The villa we stayed at was everything we needed for living and cooking, and very well equipped overall. It was a nice, mostly downhill walk to the beach and we usually took the shuttle back to our unit since it's quite an uphill climb, though doable for most people in reasonable shape (we're in our 60s). A modest grocery store is 1.3 km away, right next to what is the best stocked and most reasonably priced souvenir shop in the area. About a 15 minute walk each way. A larger store is about 4 km further by taxi if you want, but we were there 15 days and didn't need to go that far for anything. The owner was quick to respond to any queries, as was his property manager. He also put us in touch with a knowledgeable and reliable tour driver to get us to/from the airport and take us on the excursions we wanted to do. We saw and heard howler monkeys, and iguanas are a common sight. The beach was not crowded at all, plenty of lounging chairs, and there are some good eating establishments down there if you want. All around, a great experience. We'd rent from him again.

Family Vacation

Overall the location was good as was the house. However it took an hour and multiple calls and text messages to get the code to enter the property. This was problematic after a long day of travel. Additionally this property limits guests to 4 rolls of toilet paper which is just ridiculous especially when we didn't even get 4 full rolls, there are no kleenexes, etc. I have never stayed anywhere with a limitation on toilet paper. When I reached out the owner was flipant and rude - while he later kinda apologized it was enough to leave a bad impression. We do not plan on staying there again.

Carlos, what I love about Costa Rica is that it is a very giving country. It also has a way of spitting out the takers! You ran out of TP 3 days into your trip with 3 kids in tow! I supply the house but not your groceries. Also, the code to the lockbox was in the email I sent you. Pura Vida

Wonderful Property

Our group of 6 stayed 6 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa has everything you need and the private plunge pool makes it very special. The kitchen has all the pots, pans & dishes you will ever need and the Villa has lots of towels for bath, pool and beach. The washer and dryer was very useful. Each room has its own air conditioning so it was easy to keep everyone comfortable and shut rooms off when not in use. The resort has a great shuttle system that makes it easy and quick to get to the beach and if you prefer to walk, it’s not that far. The resort pool is also a very short stroll away and is large with its own bar with meals available. There is a small grocery store just a short dive away and a larger grocery store down the main road a bit. We alternated cooking in and dining out. Dining out was an easy shuttle ride to the beach where there are multiple restaurant options just a short walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this villa to anyone.

A great month in a great location

Our stay was a wonderful experience due in large part to our accommodation. The high light of this villa is undoubtedly the lanai/patio/deck space with its’ lovely and necessary splash pool. The Villa was well equipped to handle our group which ranged over the month from two to nine (three grandkids under six) with room and amenities for all. The beach is an eight minute walk away (10 minutes uphill on the return) and the Villas’ pool a short block away. Without a car we walked often to the Super Luperon about three quarters of a mile away which was somewhat randomly stocked but met all our needs. From what we saw of other properties this Villa has a perfect location,. The sunsets were magical and the fact that we could have shade during the heat of the day was appreciated Chris is a great host and very quick to respond to inquiries. The one negative relates to the Villas Sol trolly system. Our experience found the rides non existent after six pm, we walked back from every dinner at the beachfront restaurants.

I cannot recommend this property enough. First, the communication that Chris (owner) provided before and during the vacation, was without a doubt, the tone-setter for our vacation. The attention to detail that was given, made our stay comfortable! It was professional and personal...thank you! The location is great, the people are fabulous, and the house is welcoming, warm, relaxing, well stocked for all of your stays needs, be it in the kitchen, for your outings, at the pool, etc. Good and reliable wifi, cable tv, DVDs, games, etc. I even got a kick out of the "bandits" (raccoons) that would visit the patio each evening...hilarious! The beach is amazing with some great restaurants and activities. An easy walk to the grocery stores outside of the resort, if needed. There are hills to walk, but nothing too bad if you don't want to wait for the shuttles. This house is top-notch. Can't say enough about Chris. He will, go out of his way to provide you resources or information needed. We will be back! Pura Vida!

Pura Vida!

We stayed at Chris’s villa for a week earlier this month while visiting Costa Rica for the very first time. It was an inspired choice.Chris is an excellent host. Right from the get-go we knew we’d made the right decision. He reached out to us with lots of information about Villas Sol and Playa Hermosa and was very responsive both in the run-up to our trip and during it. The villa itself was a home away from home with everything we could possibly need. The bed was firm but comfortable with quality linens. The bathroom towels were large, soft and plush. The kitchen has everything you’d need - it’s fully equipped and we ate breakfast at the villa most days. We also grilled one evening! The washing machine and dryer are a real bonus too. Watching the sunset from the patio each evening was an amazing experience. The pool is a good size and we made full use of it. It was great sitting in one of the hammock chairs, beverage in hand, feet in the pool, completely relaxed and watching the sun go down.The resort was generally peaceful. We had no concerns about personal safety or security. Just keep an eye out for raccoons lol. Chris made some excellent suggestions in terms of tours and we hired José of Guanacaste Adventure Tours based on his recommendation. He also suggested some local restaurants and they were spot on!In short, you’d be a fool not to stay here. It’s an amazing villa in a great location with a fabulous host! We truly had the best of times!

A Week Of Fun

We spent a week in this lovely townhome at Villas Sol, and had a great time! The property itself was as advertised - three great bedrooms (which worked perfectly for our two adult kids) and a big common area. The splash pool outside was a great way to cool down to acclimatize to the hot weather, because it turns out that Costa Rica is pretty close to the equator, and it's hot out in August. We used the kitchen a bunch, as well as the grill. And also the in-unit laundry, which worked great. The split A/C units were very effective, and we slept like babies. We were surprised that the sun went down so early. Villas Sol (VS), the resort where the property is located, offers shuttles that run constantly down to the reception area, and then to main hotel, and to the beach. From the main hotel it's a short walk to the wet bar. Otherwise from the reception area it's an easy three hundred yards down to the beach, but it's a rough three hundred yards uphill back to the reception area. We got stronger. We took full advantage of the Swiss Tours concierge to set up tours and diving.

Bad Maintenance

The house is in bad shape. The kitchen has loose cabinets doors, on the secondary bathroom the wc lid is broken, the shower does not have showerhead, the towels are very very very used and wear. We did not have soap, dish detergent (how they clean the dishes prior we arrived?? :( uggg) The washer and dryer is not working and we can’t dry towels nor anything We’ve contacted the owner several times about the problems, but He has not answer on time. And gave totally wrong answers about the problems, and he did not fix anything to make our stay more enjoyable.

Ivan like I told you before, the people before you (Costa Ricans) had a big party that i was unaware of! All of the things you mentioned are being corrected now. As you know it is hard to get things done especially over a holiday. I have brand new towels that were there. You were only there for 3 days and should not have needed the use of the washer and dryer! I also was willing to give you a couple of extra nights at no charge. I am sorry you had a bad experience sir.

Rustic Villa with a View

The owner is very nice and communicates quickly. We had a family of 6, w/ a 2yr old. Check in was easy & upon arrival, we were happy with what we saw. I'm easy going & find the treasure in things. If you're pretentious, maybe stay at a Ritz. You have to remember where you are. Life is simple & you are visiting amongst wildlife. Racoons, skunks, squirrels, and rats like to party all night. If you sleep lightly, bring earplugs. We had all the amenities we needed to enjoy ourselves. The Villa was clean, had plenty of room for our family, & was equipped with plenty of cooking supplies, beach accessories, & a sunset that was great for cocktail hour (buy booz @ Luperon). Did all inclusive for a day, but we found we cook WAY better. Do take a minute for a cup of coffee or a cocktail at the restaurant, though, because the view is fantastic. Eating out is also pricey, so if you can cook at the Villa, you're ahead of the gang. We enjoyed cooking together & relaxing at the Villa after a day of adventuring. Luperon is less than 5 minutes away and has plenty. Oh, and the pool at the Villa was awesome. It was maintained almost daily. Loved that! Didn't spend much time at the resort pools because, heck, we were in Costa Rica! It was all about the beaches! The Villa was equipped w/ refreshing air conditioning, wifi, big TV in the family room (great for 2yr old). Beds were comfortable & bathrooms were clean. Might need a run to the store for more TP. Be patient w/ water pressure.
