Victorian terraced house with two en-suite bedrooms

This newly renovated holiday home nods towards its Victorian history in its decor and modern comfort in its amenities.

With it's two en-suite double bedrooms, spacious dining area, well equipped kitchen, and cosy snug this is the ideal get away for couples, friends, and families. The property is situated in the Groves and is a 15 minute walk from York Minster.

Guests will be provided with a welcome breakfast basket on arrival (pastries, cereal, fruit, milk, juice, coffee and tea). Each en-suite is equipped with shower, conditioner, shower gel, and hand soap. Parking for one car is available; the area is a residential parking area and the provided permit must be displayed on the dashboard.


The Kitchen and Utility Room
The kitchen is equipped with all you could need to make a light meal including a fan assisted cooker, microwave, electric hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Dining Room
Adjacent to the kitchen is the light and stylish dining room with ample seating to eat, work and play.

The Snug
This cosy red room has seating for four and is well equipped for an evening in watching a DVD or reading a book.

Victoria Bedroom
This rich blue front bedroom is bathed in light. The room features a King sized bed, clothes rail, drawers, chair, and mirror. The light ensuite shower room features a spacious electric shower, toilet, and sink.

Elizabeth Bedroom
This peaceful back bedroom takes it's inspiration from the East. The room features a double bed, clothes rail, chair bedside table, and mirror. The ensuite features an electric shower, sink and toilet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I was travelling with my brother, and we were happy to have an en suite with each of our rooms as well as very cozy common areas. Would recommend.

This property was not suitable for us as it has a very steep staircase to the bedrooms. We have mobility issues so we had to leave after 1 night, even though we had booked for 4 nights. There was no mention of the staircase in the property description so just be aware if you have mobility issues… we have stayed at a lot of short stay places around the world and this one was definitely sub standard. The showers flooded, there was no user manual (that we could find) and we had to call for instructions on how to lock the door. No PowerPoints in bathrooms and the kitchen had only bare essentials. All of this aside, it was the staircase that was our concern. The owner also didn’t offer us a partial refund, which was disappointing as the reason we left was for accessibility reasons. We were lucky enough to find another property just outside of York and it was fabulous and on one level so it catered to our accessibility requirements.

A lovely place to stay

The area is quiet and within a 10 minute walk into York, the house as everything you need for your stay. The house is comfortable and cosy, we cant wait to return.

A nicely presented townhouse. Short walk to the centre. Quiet location. Very helpful and responsive host. Stairs may challenge less agile visitors.

Lovely little house

Lovely clean, comfortable and homely little house. About 30min walk from Train Station. Has everything you could need. Street was nice and quiet for good night's sleep. Would recommend.

Nice place to stay in York.

Excellent stay. Friendly and accommodating, clean, 2 bed each upstairs with bathrooms. All appliances. Short 15 min walk to the minster and shambles. Nice park near.

Well kept and nicely placed.

Well kept and nicely placed. En-suite bedrooms are great and the sitting room though small is comfortable and all that is needed. Kitchen and bathroom equipment seem to be pretty new and worked well. The walk to free parking is 10 minutes and to city is about 15 ( without rushing).

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in York sehr genossen. Das Haus ist als Ausgangspunkt für Besichtigungen der verschiedenen sehr interessanten Museen und Sehenswürdigkeiten Yorks gut geeignet und bietet allen Komfort, den man sich für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt wünscht.Wir haben uns auch über den netten Empfang mit Getränken, Rosinenschnecken und Müsli gefreut und empfehlen diese Unterkunft gerne weiter.

Fabulous Flat!!!

I cannot say enough nice things about this stylish, recently renovated flat and Philippa. Flat is located within a 10-15 minute walk of all the York sites. Philippa was not only timely in responding, but above and beyond helpful. The flat has recently been renovated and it combines old charm with the luxury of modern appliances and bathrooms. Highly recommend. We hope to be back in York one day soon!!

Great spot, pleasant space.

Very neat, compact, well equipped. Only 15/20 mins walk into town. Nice touch of leaving breakfast for us on first day, including pastries! Enjoyed our stay. Thanks so much.

Lovely home, wonderful stay

Philippa was a wonderful host and her home was cozy, clean and quiet. This was our first time in York and found that we could easily walk into town in less than 10 minutes. We would definitely rent this home again when we come back.

Perfect base

Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and well equipped. It’s an easy 15 minute walk into the city centre with places to eat much closer if needed. The staircase is quite steep so maybe not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Great for both bedrooms to have en-suites. The beds were extremely comfy and the street quiet ensuring a good sleep. I’d happily recommend this lovely little house.

Cosy and comfortable

Clean and tidy house, quite modern inside and very comfortable. Good location for city centre. We did have to park our car a 10 minute walk from the house although we could park outside to load and unload our luggage.

Great for two couples. Great place for a short stay in York. Easy walk to city centre and all its amenities. Only downside is no parking but it’s only a 5 min walk to closest on street parking.
