Nicely finished and well kept villa in a super location .

My husband, two children and I really enjoyed our stay here . The villa is perfect for exploring the most beautiful part of the island and for those reasons a hire car is recommended . Lovely choice of restaurants in the beautiful port of Agia Effimia which is just a few minutes down the road by car . I would definitely visit again .

Excellent property

Very easy from start to finish, property owner was extremely helpful before and during our stay. The villa is perfect, and the location is perfect. We are a family of 5 and it worked well for us, fabulous for the kids. Would 100 % recommend.

Fabulous villa so plan to return next year!

We liked the location in the hills, although you really do need a car! Villa is well equipped and very clean. Delightful owner who is helpful without being intrusive-some nice little touches like providing washing and dishwasher tablets. Appreciated the air conditioning and lovely pool. We enjoyed our morning coffe in hot tub admiring the views! Agia Efimia is great little town with loads good restaurants and nice small beaches. Lots of nice places to visit and you can get boat to Ithaki.

Villa Horizon 2 was stunning, it is nice and modern with ample space inside and out.

The views from the Villa were stunning and you are Sat on top of a hill overlooking Agia Efimia. It is peaceful, so if like to unwind by the pool with a book and a cocktail it's perfect. There was 4 of us staying and where the bedrooms are situated you can have your own space and access to the pool area. It has a kitchen downstairs as well on the middle floor which is great for when your staying in and having a bbq. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the owner Alexatos who is lovely will greet you and is at hand for any requests or needs. We rate this villa 10/10...☺

Great property with beautiful views

Excellent property with loads of extra touches to make the stay great. Every window has a great view, the pool is a good size and is heated by a heat pump if needed, the two person hot tub was a treat and the beds really good (in fact the bed made us realise that our bed at home wasn't good enough so we are getting a new one). There is also a BBQ and two well equipped kitchens, (great to have a fridge on the ground floor to keep the beers cold). The villa is a semi, but each side have their own pool and outside areas and they are not overlooking each other, you hardly even know there is someone on the other side. The owner is really friendly and was happy to help with anything we needed. Can't fault it and am happy to highly recommend it.

Perfect. Just perfect!

If you want peace, quiet & tranquillity then book this villa! I can't praise it enough. It's clean, spacious, has everything you need, finished to a high standard, and the owner Dionisios is very friendly & helpful. My partner hadn't had a holiday abroad for 10 years and we were a bit concerned about possible noise from the attached villa......never heard a sound! The aircon was a God send, the beds were very comfy and the showers were fab. We truly felt totally relaxed and refreshed from our 10 night stay here. You do need a car though as it's up a steep winding road! We would love to return in the future.......this is our first trip to Greece and we fell in love with it :-)

We stayed in one of the Horizon Villas for two weeks at the end of June, it was simply wonderful!! The only thing I can say to do it justice would be to say "I can't think of anything that they could do to improve everything in the villa" we spent a fantastic holiday touring the island, taking boat trips, eating out in the local village and relaxing by our own private pool. The only slight issue was with the roads, very narrow and quite scary!! but we got there by taking our time and enjoying the fabulous scenery. Our host, Deniosos (sorry if that's the wrong spelling) and Mirka were quite simply marvellous, nothing was to much trouble, the best ever I have had from any owner - thank you kindly!! Our advice - just go, you'll love it :-)

Great villa in a perfect position

The villa is a semi situated about 1.5km outside of the town of Agia Effimia up on Megiavouna hill/mountain. As there is nothing around you it is perfectly peaceful with amazing views out across the sea. Dead opposite the villa is the traditional taverna/grill house ‘Megiavouna’. They offer a range of very reasonably priced local dishes - Saturday and Wednesday is kontosouvli (spit roast pork) which is delicious. Also the meat pie and rabbit casserole are delicious. The villa is modern, very clean and has everything you can think of. The main kitchen and living area is on the middle floor but there is also a small kitchenette on the ground floor - perfect for snacks and cold drinks whilst you are using the pool. The owner, Dionysios is super helpful and very hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble. The pool is of a very high standard and is super clean. Top tip - the evenings can be breezy up on the mountain so taking a light weight cover up/ sweater is a good idea. We had a great holiday and the villa is perfectly positioned for getting to Myrtos beach, Assos, Sami, and even Argostoli and Fiskardo are not too far. Great villa - thank you!!

Great place to relax

Had two fantastic weeks here. So peaceful and relaxing and amazing views. Central on the island for sightseeing. Easy to get to see everything in two weeks from here and still have some downtime. Agia Effimia is a lovely little town with enough places to eat and two or three bars for a quiet drink, but not spoilt by tourism. We walked into town several times from the villa. It is perfectly doable, but does depend on your level of fitness. It is actually 2km by road down to the town, but not so far in a straight line, so the views are great. But it is a very steep hill and could be tricky in the heat of the day. We were happy to drive down sometimes and walk also. The hill was really no bother to us, the location was perfect. But if you are looking for somewhere that you can walk back to after some drinks with a meal at night then you probably need one a bit closer to the town. It all depends what your priorities are for your holiday. If you want to relax, unwind, enjoy the views and the tranquility in a comfortable villa where you are private and well looked after, then this is the one. It is lovely and clean with fresh bedding and towels several times throughout our stay. It was just what we were looking for and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Beautiful villa in an excellent location

We actually stayed in Horizon Villa 1. The villa was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. The outside area was lovely with a pool, BBQ, hot tub, comfortable sun loungers and stunning views. The bedrooms were large and had the most comfortable beds we have ever experienced when renting a villa or apartment, it was nice that each bedroom was on its own floor. The air conditioning was so quiet we could leave it on all night. The kitchen was fully equipped and although not large was big enough for our needs. There were 4 adults in our party and we found the villa to be spacious enough for our party. The villa was in an excellent location just a few minutes drive to Agia Effinia town, it's a beautiful town with lots of lovely tavernas, we travelled around the island and Agia Effimia and Assos were our favourite places on the island. The owner was very helpful, giving us recommendations of places to visit and restaurants, he even drove us into town one evening and picked us up and dropped us back to the villa afterwards. You do need a hire car as in our opinion the villa was not within walking distance of the town. We would recommend hiring a car anyway so that you can explore this beautiful island. We had an amazing holiday and will definatley return to Kefalonia and stay at this villa again in the future.

NOTHING BUT THE BEST

This could be the worlds longest review as there are so many great things to stay about our stay in the Horizon villa but I will try and keep it short and to the point. the Villa is situated about a 5 min drive from the harbour and a twenty min walk if you feel fit enough in the hot Kefalonian sun. The owner of the Villa (Dionisios) told me he had worked in the tourism industry and it really shows. There is absolutely nothing that is spared in the Villa to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and you feel that every attention to detail has been taken care of. The Villa is very new and has been built, decorated and furnished to such a high standard it really makes you feel its a real home from home. There are three levels to the villa with a Ensuite bedroom at the top with stunning views from two balcony’s, a common area in the middle with a well equipped Kitchen and ensuite bathroom and the lower level is another bedroom with yet another ensuite and a small kitchen, Gym and TV room. The outside area is very spacious with a dinning table, A jacuzzi overlooking Aghia Efimia Harbour a soft garden furniture set up with two arm chairs and a small two seater settee and a small pool but big enough for any family looking to have fun an cool down out of the hot sun. This was our 6th time to Kefalonia and without doubt this has been the best holiday yet. If you are looking for a private luxurious villa with the friendliest owners and placed in a small patch of heaven then you will not be disappointed. We will be visiting the Horizon Villa again very soon and cant wait to come back to Aghia Efimia Ian

Great Holiday, lovely villa, nice owners!

Four of us have just stayed at the Horizon Villa for a week in September and had a fantastic time. Having stayed previously near Agia Effimia in Loukata, we wanted a villa slightly closer to the town(within walking distance), with great views, a pool, AC but included the privacy of a private location and the villa did not disappoint on any level. Mirka Alexatou met us on arrival and showed us around his completely new property for this season which is lovely. We were two couples and the villa is big enough to ensure you are not on top of each other all of the time but is so well designed that you enjoyed each others company throughout the house. The pool is a welcome relief to the sun(even in September) and the forecourt contains a gated parking space. There are 3 TV's none of which we used but it would be good for families and the property has two kitchens. The bedrooms have been decorated to a high standard and were really comfortable. On this holiday we made a conscious decision to eat out a lot depending on what part of the island we were visiting. On several occasions we walked into town which takes about 20 minutes. On both occasions we had to walk back(as no taxis available) however not a problem and only took about 30 minutes up the hill. As a previous reviewer has mentioned the restaurant across the road is very helpful for stocking up on wine and booze to take away and we found the food to be really good there as well. Based on our experience I would have no hesitation in recommending Alexatou's villa to friends and family and look forward to visiting Kefalonia again ourselves.

a delightful retreat with good views over Efimia harbour

The villa (ii) was very comfortable and with every convenience to enjoy a delightful holiday! After a busy year we often enjoy a quiet retreat which this villa provided, yet within easy reach of the beautiful harbour of efimia. We enjoyed sun from early morning to late evening and with spectacular golden and red sunrises greeting us each morning. We visited early October so temperatures were a pleasant early to mid 20's, enjoyed from the balcony of the lounge in the morning and from the pool side in the afternoon... With a mild breeze providing welcome respite from the heat of the mid afternoon sun. It also provided an excellent central base in kefalonia to explore other places of interest... But the harbour of efimia with it's restaurants and daily movement of yachts and boats and Greek life was an enjoyable distraction from our busy year! We particularly enjoyed the Paradise Beach restaurant with its friendly service, excellent food, reasonable prices and great views across the sea.... We happen to enjoy a romantic full moon rising one evening from this point! Although it's possible to walk down into efimia we would recommend hiring a car... The cost of hiring a taxi to and from the airport near enough covers this cost and allows exploration of the island too!! We would certainly consider returning to this villa... It was clean, well presented, of modern build and although next to a road winding up the hillside, was very quiet with only the bells of the mountain goats mildly audible in the mornings and early evening! Our host Dionisios, made us feel very welcome and attended any need we had, as well as providing helpful information on local places to see and directions to take! Thank you for a great holiday!! Great villa, stunning views, nice owners!

We have just stayed at Horizon Villa for two weeks; family of four. We could not have been more pleased. The villa and location exceeded all our expectations. The views towards the sea from the villa are stunning, which you can appreciate from all levels of the villa and the pool area. The villa owner Mirka Alexatou was waiting for us on arrival and showed us round. The villa is all brand new, but is all completely finished off (not your usual Greek half-finished job!). The quality of the design and fittings is really good, there has been a lot of thought gone into the design. The villa has air conditioning throughout, which is really nice! There are three bathrooms, all with showers. The are also two separate kitchens, which would enable some independent space if required. There is everything you need in the villa, eg hairdryer, iron, washing machine, safe, satellite TV, etc, etc. The beds are very comfortable. Regular cleaning of the villa with fresh towels (bath and pool) and bed linen is a real plus! Outside there is great pool. Big enough to really enjoy yourselves and 1.5m deep. It has good steps and one end and a nice ledge all the way round, so good for the younger kids too. By the pool there are some good sun loungers and sun shades. There is also a great bbq area. The pool area is private from the neighbouring villa. The local town is five minutes drive and is really nice, with good choice of restaurants and shops, but not too commercial or over touristy! There is a very traditional taverna just over the road from the villa which ended up our favourite place to eat, providing fantastic value - evening meal for 4 costing only £25-£30 with drinks, wine, etc. Overall we have been very very happy with the villa, location, service and weather! Thanks to the owners! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. (Prior to arrival communication was great, with quick response to email. We paid our money direct and felt safe. The owner even arranged our car rental for us, which worked well and saved hassle, just collecting at the airport.) I am not normally one to leave long positive reviews, but this place deserves it!

Great villa

Excellent villa in an amazing location behind Agia Effimia. Great pool area and modern clean villa inside. Need a car to get around the island as villa is quite secluded but that’s the appeal. Also not far at all from Agia which is a great town. Dionisios is an excellent host too. Highly recommend!

Abbiamo soggiornato a Villa Horizon II per quattro notti a luglio. Soluzione ideale per una famiglia con bambini perché la casa è dotata di diversi spazi interni ed esterni in cui ognuno può trovare il suo angolo di pace. 3 bagni con doccia e 2 cucine. Diversi tavoli, sedie e divano esterni per godersi il panorama. Piscina esterna e jacuzzi apprezzabili. Molto comoda e buona la taverna tipica di fronte alla villa, si mangia benissimo per pochi euro. Il proprietario, Dionisios, molto gentile e disponibile. La consiglio sicuramente!

Die Doppelhaushälfte ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für erholsame Ferien benötigt. Es ist alles sehr sauber, sowohl im Innen- wie auch im Aussenbereich und wird von den Eigentümern sehr gepflegt. Die Lage ist wunderbar, sehr ruhig und mit Weitblick bis zum Hafen von Agia Efimia und die Berge. Herzlichen Dank für die unkomplizierte Buchung, die vielen Tipps und die herzliche Betreuung. Modern quality villa with lovely pool and hot tub with a superb view.

Stayed for a week with friends.A very friendly late night welcome. The villa is only about 800m from the village but road back is taxing being uphill all the way. Pool was very clean and the property superbly maintained on a daily basis. Good bedrooms and places to eat. The only slight negative was sitting area indoors was small for four adults. Great bbq area and secure garden.
