Artistic hideaway within York’s ancient city walls
Gallery inspired, quintessential York townhouse finished with original local artwork. Situated in the historic, very quiet, family neighbourhood of Bishophill, with on street parking, a stone’s throw away from York’s ancient city walls, historic sites and iconic attractions.
Our guests are only a short walk away from soaking up the atmosphere of nearby Bishopthorpe Road and Micklegate, both bustling with many independent shops, cafés, award winning restaurants and traditional pubs.
The space
Covid-19 Awareness:
To ensure the safety of all guests our cleaning agents adhere to AirBnB’s Covid-19 cleaning guidelines and will be putting extra cleaning measures in to practice between guests. The house will also be well stocked with cleaning products and hand sanitiser for our guests peace of mind.

Living area
Whether you are reading a book in our comfortable armchair or chatting around the table with friends after dinner, our warm and inviting open plan living area provides the perfect setting for all occasions. With free guest wifi, smart TV, a variety of books and magazines, and a fantastic selection of vintage games, you will not be short of things to do if the weather turns sour.
Kitchen
Bright, spacious, stylish, well furnished - our contemporary design kitchen makes for the perfect home away from home. An abundance of carefully selected cutlery, crockery and glassware mean that if going out for the night isn’t on the agenda then no problem! Every conceivable pot, pan, and utensil is provided for you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Courtyard
Relax in the morning sun with a coffee in our tranquil and private courtyard before heading out for the day. Atmospheric lighting means you can enjoy this space through into the evening, with outdoor dining setting and a fantastic inbuilt brick BBQ for your use. South facing courtyard allows our guests to enjoy the sunshine all day.
Bathroom
Heritage inspired & recently renovated bathroom. We will provide all of our guests with quality, freshly laundered towels. Our guests will also benefit from complimentary toiletries including sustainably sourced toilet paper, antibacterial hand soap, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. Our hand soap and shower gel are hypoallergenic so they are kind on sensitive skin. We endeavour to use refills wherever possible to reduce the amount of plastic waste we generate. We do not use single use toiletries.
The Green Room
After a busy day exploring the city, sink into a king sized bed with luxury, fresh bed linens for a peaceful night’s rest. With ample wardrobe and storage space, and USB charging points this bedroom will leave you wanting for nothing. Traditional wooden sash windows with frosted glass panels ensure that our guests privacy is maintained at all times . Adorned in artwork created by our closest friends and family, with antique furniture, bespoke curtains and ambient lighting, this room makes for a cosy and warm retreat from the outside world.
The Blue Room
Retire for the evening and enjoy a restful night's sleep in a double bed with luxury, fresh bed linen. Beautifully decorated with examples of local artists' work on the walls, this bedroom is the perfect end to a busy day. Hanging and storage space for our guests with USB charging points and wall mounted smart phone holders for your convenience
Other things to note
Our house is situated in a very quiet, family oriented neighbourhood with elderly and young children in both neighbouring properties. We request that guests are respectful of the local community and that noise is kept to a minimum. Therefore it is unsuitable for guests who are after more of a party vibe stay. We do not host stag or hen parties for this reason.
