6 bedroom Lakeside cottage with fishing, pool, hot tub games room & so much more

Gulliver cottage is the largest of 4 cottages at Trehill cottages. The 4 acres of grounds include 2 fishing ponds, outdoor pool (summer only), games room and lots of space to stroll or kick a ball about.

The cottage itself has 6 bedrooms and sleeps 12. It has a spacious lounge with log burner, conservatory, patio with BBQ & private hot tub(extra cost).

There is a large kitchen dining room with range cooker & oak dining table seating 12.

Our private fishing ponds are just seconds away. Gulliver has its own hot tub for which there is an additional charge of £80/week or £60 for a short break

There is also a family friendly swimming pool. Being quite shallow (dimensions 80cm deep x7m long x 4m wide) it is perfect for a relaxing dip. The permanent dome keeps it clean and much warmer than normal for an outdoor pool. It is shared with the 3 other Trehill cottages, so will be available for you for two hours of private use per day.

The Trehill estate consists of the 3 Trehill other cottages & our 3 Long Barn cottages. The pool is shared with the 3 Trehill cottages only. The grounds and games room are shared with the adjacent Long Barn cottages.

Amazing break

Absolutely loved our stay at Trehill Cottage! The place was spotless, full of charm, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The setting was peaceful and picturesque—perfect for unwinding. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. Would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming countryside escape!

The house(gulliver) was nice but very tired. WiFi was horrendous. You are not supposed to speak to the owners unless it’s via the telephone or email, and you are expected to keep kids quiet before 9am

Ideal holiday location

Perfect place to stay with family and friends. Well kitted out. Ideal base for exploring surrounding area. Would definitely go back at some point in the future.

nice property

Lovely house, didn't realise there is so little privacy, with another cottage attached. The property itself is beautiful though done out on the basic side. A 'no frills' accommodation. Wouldn't recommend or go again. The hosts weren't the warmest or most helpful of people.

Fantastic setting, lovely people

For anyone with children, this place is the perfect mix - it’s not precious or pretentious, but it is comfortable, spacious and incredibly pretty. We stayed in Gulliver which is the large cottage and everyone has a fantastic time - I’d highly recommend this place.

great house in a wonderful location

beautiful old stone house set in lovely landscaped gardens. Great location for getting around. Fishing was a real bonus for the boys and we enjoyed the sunny weather by the outside pool. With this weather who would want to go to spain!

Wonderful 60th

We used to live in Callington so stay in the area regularly and know it well. Chose Gulliver because it was the only place in the area big enough to accommodate us all. So glad we did. We stayed in the Gullivers cottage, with some of our family for my 60th birthday. Others stayed in one of the other cottages (see my trehill cottages review for more about the facillities etc). Gulliver was perfect. Spacious,comfortable. We could all sit down for an evening meal & the hot tub was a major hit with all three generations. Highly recommended.

lovely spot

a very enjoyable place for a family get together. views are outstanding, the fishing was really good. It is not commercial type, but it is nice and peaceful as only guests can use the ponds. The cottage itself is very nice and has a farmhouse feel. China fleet was beyond expectations - it just had everything. We also enjoyed the private hot tub.

Excellent property and amendities. Full of character.

Booked this property for mid-October to have a family reunion for 10 of us. We had an excellent long weekend! The property is well maintained and full of character. There are sufficient number of rooms so you do not have to be on top of each other all the time. The kitchen was well-stocked with equipment and we easily catered at meal times. There is plenty to do with a number of TV's, DVD's, books and board games all available at the property, but in truth we rarely left the large table in the kitchen which was a great place to congregate, eat, drink and talk. Outside the hot tub was good fun and worked effectively. The fishing lake kept some of our party entertained at times with the added bonus of catching some decent fish! The owners were nice people who kept a respectful distance but on hand if help was needed. All in all a lovely property which we would happily rent again or recommend to others.

Excellent facilities and beautiful location

The accommodation was superb! It had everything you could possibly need for 12 people! The hot tub was the perfect temperature upon arrival. Callington was literally a 2 minute drive away so the location was great. Dartmoor national park is 30 minute drive away and definitely worth a visit. There are some great pubs nearby with amazing food. The free gym and spa passes were such a bonus! The gym is amazing and the spa was just what we all needed! The owner Neville made us feel very welcome upon arrival. One of the best weekends away we've experienced. Thank you to the owners! We'd definitely come back!

wonderful family get together

had a great time this summer for mums 80th. 4 generations in total & everyonr had a great time (a miracle?). We especially enjoyed the lovely grounds & hot tub. Sam & snowy the donkeys were great company & although we only went once, the included China Fleet memberships were very handy.

great family trip

we came here for a weekend break to celebrate my parents silver wedding anniversary & we couldn't have asked for more! Wonderful spacious cottage with a great kitchen dining room. We really enjoyed the fishing. The China Fleet club was sooo good. Owners said that they had a new spa & we should visit. we are glad we did. What a place.

perfect chill out break with friends

We booked this place for a week to catch up with old friends. There were 12 of us & in spite of the slightly chilly weather we had a fantastic time. The location is just perfect sitting on a plateau with great views all around. The lake was really pretty & the donkeys were a surprising hit! The fireplace & hot tub along with the memberships to the health club just topped it off great. All in all couldn't be faulted. Already planning to do it again in 2 years time.

Great family reunion break

Spent a week here in February. Cold cold cold, but fire & hot tub made a huge difference. With 3 generations, it was lucky there was lots to do. The fishing & games room were fab & China Fleet pool was great for the kids. Overall the cottage was very well equipped & with conservatory & additional TV / video game area, we could all spread out. Kitchen was very good with dining table that actually sat 12! Overall would definitely recommend for any gathering, and would love to come back when it is a bit warmer!
