Perfect peace.

We’d booked to return to the quirky Rowan Pod in January having loved it on our first visit, but at the last minute , due to a technical problem , we were upgraded to the beautiful Lodge. Wow ! What a bonus ! Cosy, warm, fully equipped with everything you might need to cook and wash up, top class amenities, sumptuous curtains and furnishings, fabulous shower, quality toiletries and huge hot tub for two under the stars with light snow falling. Absolute bliss. Damian was attentive without being intrusive and was there instantly to help when we couldn’t get our car up the drive in the icy snow. The pet animals and wild birds are a delight and we were even visited by a couple of wild deer. Helpful hint. The Nespresso machine takes the larger type pods not the small ones I had brought. However, in the lovely welcome pack was some ground coffee for the cafetière so all was well. The view from the Lodge is wide open and stunning and you can see for miles. Every house/pod/ lodge is arranged to give you maximum privacy with plenty space around so you don’t feel overlooked. I’m not surprised Airhouses has won awards for luxury tourism. I’m not sure what they could do to improve on what they offer. We’ll definitely be back.

A sanctuary

My stay at the Lodge was restorative and rejuvenating. The accommodation itself left nothing to be desired - from the thoughtful welcome basket of fruits and treats, to the full kitchen, to the availability of chef-prepared meals or delicious frozen meal options to the comfortable living and bedroom furnishings ... it was a home away from home with all the extras. Any issues were swiftly addressed by the very capable and courteous on-site caretakers. I so deeply appreciated both enjoying the expansive view from my cosy cabin and on my walks around the farm greeting all the other inhabitants. I am grateful for the mindful, conscious approach of stewarding the farm to ensure the needs of all the beings of the land. Because of these balance there is harmony and peace on the grounds. Thank you for providing an opportunity to experience a different way of farming and a enjoying a holiday.

Birthday Weekend

We first arrived at Airhouses 5 years ago to stay in The Buchanan and since then I/we have had many return visits however this was our first stay at The Lodge and as expected , it didn’t disappoint! The Lodge was comfortable, cosy and spotless. It has stunning views especially from the hot tub. It was equipped to the usual high standard, quality bedding and complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries. I would say if you fancy a not tub/lodge stay, take a trip to Airhouses, you won’t be disappointed

Relaxed long weekend

Staying at the Lodge was a great experience. These lodges / cabins are not new but are immaculate and maintained to a very high standard. Inside is furnished very well. The location is perfect for stargazing and hot tub keeps you warm and although there are other cabins the spacing is such you feel secluded. A great base for visiting the local attractions and if not wishing to go far saying hello to the onsite varied animals is worth doing. This was our second visit and would do it again.

Perfect place to unwind

Staying in the Lodge at Airhouses was a fantastic experience. The countryside environment was quiet and provided great walking opportunities. The space between the accommodation provided good privacy so you could enjoy the relaxation of the hot tub without disturbance. Everyone you met was welcoming and very friendly. It's the perfect place for rest & relaxation. Highly recommended.

Peaceful retreat

We had such an enjoyable fortnights stay in The Lodge.We didn't know this part of Scotland ,and found it to be ideal, attractive walks with our dogs, interspersed with interesting abbeys, and a highlight visit to see The Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. If you are interested in craft projects,and or history, I would say it a must see, I thought it was fantastic. The Lodge itself was perfect for a couple, and in our case 2 medium sized dogs. Very clean and comfortable, with superb views of the Lammamuir Hills, a view I miss! Martin was very personable and on hand should you need him. All in all a great break, would highly reccomend.

The Lodge

Just leaving now after a wonderful stay at The Lodge in Airhouses. We stayed here once before about 9 years ago and everything is just as good, I'm so glad we returned for another stay. The accomodation itself is top class, lovely cosy lodge with everything you need to enjoy a self catering holiday. Every cooking utensil you could hope for, bath towels and leisure towels, lovely shampoo/shower gel etc. Even got a smart TV with Netflix available and some board games. Can't forget about the hot tub and BBQ in the outside space which we took full advantage of. We love the site itself with all the animals which you can feed by purchasing little bags from the honesty shop. You've got pigs, ponies, sheep, goats and donkeys which you can feed. Incorporate a walk around the site using the footpaths and it's a lovely wee afternoon! Damian the GM was a lovely chap and welcomed us on our day of arrival. Also, stopped for a chat etc when we bumped into each other out and about. He's available by text/phone should you need anything during your stay. Also, special mention to The Tower Bar in the village of Oxton. It's recently been taken over by a retired couple and Mavis was so friendly. It's a nice walk down if you fancy a few drinks.

Repeat offenders

This was the latest of many visits to Airhouses but the first as a couple. We found The Lodge to be just as well equipped and comfortable as the larger lodges. It was cosy without being claustrophobic and possibly had the best view of all. We shall be back next year!

Great place to stay.

This was our second time staying at Airhouse's. The welcome pack with local produce was a very nice touch. Host came past, not long after we arrived, to check all was ok. Weather was great so we made full use of the barbeque. The lovely little coffee shop was new to us and we really enjoyed coffee in the nice cups. Great place to stay for a restful holiday.

Superb relaxing stay

We love a relaxing break at Airhouses. We’ve been visiting for several years. The accommodation is so comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub is a luxurious bonus. The views from the peaceful setting across the countryside are amazing. Historic Borders towns close by are always a joy to visit.

fantastic place to stay

We had a wonderful stay in the Lodge.It is the perfect place to relax and unwind . So very comfortable, peaceful and with such fantastic views from the Lodge, what more could you want. We had a hare to see us in the morning and house martins nesting whilst we were there. The weather was good and the hot tub a great way to spend an evening. Thank you all for making it special

A little bit of heaven in the Borders

Absolutely spotless on arrival with a quality welcome gift awaiting. Well equipped lodge with everything we needed and lovely toiletries. Enjoyable tour of the farm with Damien to meet the animals and to hear about the farm's history. Well off the road so peaceful and tranquil making for a very relaxed break. Fabulous views from the lodge and hot tub.

Fabulous Stay

The Lodge was beautifully clean and well maintained. It's compact but we managed with the 2 of us and our dog, and the utility room gave us a bit extra room. Small outdoor table and 2 chairs on the top balcony and another set by the hot tub. The hot tub was on the lower deck and we could lock the gate on the top part which was great as our dog could see us. The views are amazing from both lodge and hot tub with the sun in the morning and late afternoon. The site has some lovely pet animals with the pigs just adorable. Good connection with WiFi. Could do with a few more utensils like serving spoons, plastic glasses and more mugs. Bed was so comfortable. Storage for clothes was small and would have preferred a set of drawers rather than dressing table. Lovely hot and powerful shower with the biggest rain shower head ever! Was a fabulous comfortable stay.

Perfect getaway

The Lodge at Airhouses was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need. We were greeted on arrival and infomed of the amenities on site. The hot tub was very clean and checked twice daily. There is plenty of walking/cycling directly from Airhouses and 10 mins train journey intlo Edinburgh only a 25 minute car drive away.

Relaxing and re-energising break.

Lovely setting and very relaxing. Suitable for couples and families. Good to have all the farm animals to see and feed - especially for younger children. Nice touch to have the honesty shop for essentials, and the pop-up cafe on site. Customer service was great - the proprietors were very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Exceptional holiday!

What a wonderful place to stay! The farm is beautiful and will make you feel very at peace, the views are picturesque and even more spectacular while relaxing in the hot tub. The animals will welcome you with a warm hello and capture your heart, I almost didn’t want to leave! Elisabeth and Damian made sure we had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed the pop up coffee shop and walking trails.

The Lodge

Very comfortable accommodation with fabulous view across the valley. Hosts on site very helpful when needed….and I loved the fresh coffee in the Dairy on the Saturday morning….great way to meet people too.

A cosy winter get away

Airhouses is set in the most spectacular countryside. This was our fifth visit but we were still able to find a new walk from the door of The Lodge ( to the start of "Walk with Cuthbert the shepherd", pilgrim trail). Other more familiar walks were as lovely as ever. The hot tub, even with flurries of snow, was great fun. The Lodge is a perfect size for two and is very well appointed. We would strongly recommend this as a holiday destination.

Amazing little getaway

The lodge is in a beautiful location - the views are phenomenal & the animals truly make the whole experience. We were able to buy feed from the honesty shop & feed all of the friendly animals. The hot tub was immaculate and the cottage was so cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to come again! Thank you for a lovely stay, and a special thank you to Damian for welcoming us :)

Two week stay

Wow what can I say, since we’ve been going to Edinburgh this is the only place where we can totally relax, Damian and the team are all amazing. They make us feel so welcome. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas. We’re always sad to leave because of how much we love staying here. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday and we will be booking again for next year. Second visit

Short break with my husband. We stayed in capercaillie earlier this year and loved it so much we came back! The lodge is perfect for 2, everything you could need is provided. The hot tub is lovely with a view of the fields. Very relaxing.
