Another relaxing stay

We have recently returned from a stay in the Buchanan and had a wonderful relaxing time. The properties are equipped to a very high standard and relaxing in the hot tub after a day exploring is great! The staff are always helpful and there are activities on site if you want to do them. This is a great location for exploring the Borders and Edinburgh.

Amazing week away with the family on a lovely farm

Had an amazing time at Airhouses, the owner was really helpful with anything we needed. Had a tour of the farm meeting the animals one morning which the kids really enjoyed. Also did the treasure hunt which was a lovely circular walk to Oxton. Hot tub was very big and whole family enjoyed that, especially with some star gazing at night. Not too far from Edinburgh which we drove to one day. Overall was great and can highly recommend. We went with a relaxing stay in mind and that’s exactly what we got and more. Thanks!

Our great escape!

We have been coming to Airhouses for many years. It’s abit of luxury, peace and quiet. The Family always go that extra mile. You feel as if you are miles away from everything on the Farm but you are close to many attractions especially Edinburgh. Plenty of independent shops and lovely places to eat. We can not wait for our next visit.

Relaxing and Peaceful

Our second great stay at Airhouses, and the first time in The Buchanan. A wonderful stylish lodge with plenty of room, very comfortable beds, big relaxing sofas, great views and of course the hot tub for star gazing nights. We were made very welcome by the hosts and had all we required in the lodge for our stay. Feeding the animals is great fun for all ages and the little onsite shop, cafe and door step walks are very handy. Airhouses is also a great location for exploring the borders and east coast with most places less than an hour away. And then of course there is Edinburgh again less than an hour to this great city. I would highly recommend a stay here and we will be back.

Buchanan at Airhouses

The lodge is very well equipped and comfortably furnished. The open plan layout is great for engaging the whole family. Damien made us very welcome and our dog loved the surrounding area. We used the hot tub and the bbq. It's a great location. The views across Lauder Vale are spectacular. Our party visited Edinburgh, Falkirk Kelpies, Kelso, Melrose and Galashiels, as well as the Alpine roller coaster and Glenkinchie distillery.

A favourite place of ours

We first stayed in the Buchanan 8 years ago and have just returned for a much needed break. Such a lovely spot, peaceful and away-from-it-all but close enough to our favourite city Edinburgh to go when we wanted. Huge thanks to the Airhouses team for creating such a beautiful space. Buchanan is spacious and has plenty of little luxuries, is perfectly clean and incredibly well kept (you couldn't tell it was 8 years since we were last there!) . Hot tub much loved by our young adult children too - and you're never too old to feed the animals! Hopefully it wont be 8 years til we visit again!

Fantastic as always

We have been to airhouse many times and not once does it ever disappoint The whole team are fantastic and it certainly is top class always friendly the views are stunning the hot tub always amazing the lodges are very well equipped We had some meals ready in the freezer for when we arrived and each one was absolutely delicious would definitely recommend them Hopefully we will be back again soon

Lovely

Lovely and clean, everything you need only positive feedback would be an air fresher, a clock and hand soap at the kitchen sink. Lovely grounds, we didn’t manage to book a taxi to go for a meal and the price was quite high as we were rural (we stayed for an occasion so wanted to have a nice cooked meal) quite costly but a lovely getaway.

A Magical Stay at Airhouses – Our Best Visit Yet!

This was our fifth year at Airhouses, and somehow it just keeps getting better! The setting is truly idyllic — peaceful, scenic, and the perfect escape from everyday life. The lodge and facilities are second to none: spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. One of the standout joys of staying here is the animals — they are absolutely beautiful and such a special part of the farm experience. This year brought exciting new activities like pony grooming and a cozy fire pit in the forest, which made our stay even more magical and memorable. The farmer Damien and his wife are simply wonderful — warm, welcoming, and always going the extra mile to make sure guests have the best time. We honestly can’t wait to return next year. Thank you, Airhouses, for another unforgettable holiday!

Wonderful stay at Airhouses

This is my second stay at the Buchanan and this time I brought my son and daughter in law for a 3 night break and their dog Otis. What an amazing place. The lodge was immaculate throughout and of a very high standard. The hot tub was an added bonus especially since it was the warmest weekend of the year!! On arrival a bag of goodies was waiting for us in the kitchen. This included tea ,coffee, jam, shortbread and a delicious iced loaf. What a start to a great weekend!! We had a trip to the lovely town of Melrose and also visited the beautiful beach at Bamburgh which is certainly worth a visit. There is now a small shop and cafe on site which serves very nice coffee and cake. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Damien who organised a small paddling pool for Otis to cool him down in the heatwave. We will certainly be back and hope to see you all again in the not too distant future.

Lovely lodge in a lovely location. The hot tub was excellent and well used by all of us. The pop up coffee shop is a great addition to the site as well as the on site shop. Little extras like the welcome hamper and dog welcome basket were appreciated.

Relaxing family get-together

We had a wonderful family birthday celebration at Airhouses in the Buchanan. The location is beautiful and peaceful and the lodge has everything you need. The accomodation is kitted out with high quality fittings and furnishings whilst remaining very comfortable and relaxing. The hot tub was great fun and the children enjoyed feeding the animals, particularly the donkeys and Shetland ponies. Highly recommended!

Peaceful, Relaxing and comfortable

Stayed at The Buchanan Lodge over New Year. Well presented, clean and plenty of room for 6 adults. Great hot tub. Welcome bag of goodies on arrival. Kitchen well stocked. Loved watching the sun rise through full height windows. Helpful and pleasant owners, we will definitely be back !

Family summer holiday

We had a lovely time at the Buchanan in late July, early August. The cottage was perfect for our family of 6, including two small children and my in-laws. The views from the cottage are stunning, plenty of bathrooms, fun toy cottage for the kids and amazing grounds with animals. Everyone we met at the farm was incredibly friendly and kind. We enjoyed our time getting to know and feed the animals. The hot tub was also a favorite. We look forward to returning next year!

A perfect Scottish getaway

I don’t think we could have found a better holiday home. The children loved feeding the friendly farm animals, the adults loved the hot tub with incredible views and we all loved the charming lodge equipped with everything we needed and filled with comfortable and high end furniture and fittings. The location is great, easy access to Edinburgh while still being nestled in the countryside. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. I can’t recommend it enough - we are already planning to go back with our extended family. What a find.

Holiday 24

Wonderful lodge in a super setting. Loved the animals on the farm, especially the donkeys which we could watch while dining in. Spacious and very well equipped, very cosy in the cooler days. Hot tub was huge and very well looked after. Had great fun at the Meet and Greet with the animals, especially the goats. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. The App before departure was a good idea, and contained all the info you needed before arrival saving time once we got there. This was our second visit but in a different lodge, and both were very well presented.

Just beautiful

A beautiful, cosy, homely cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay; house is immaculate throughout, a home from home. What an amazing place to stay! We loved the animals and how friendly they all were. Lots of lovely walks with the kids and our dog with the added pleasure of relaxing in the hot tub afterwards. Welcome pack was a lovely gesture. A special thanks to Damien for his help. Needless to say, our kids already want to come back. We will definitely be booking again!

Our Christmas holiday at airhouses

We have spent Christmas at Airhouses many times, we have stayed in every lodge also the capercaillie. We had a fantastic time every single holiday. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They can't do enough for you. All our children and Grandchildren love it. We are booked for next Christmas already. Can't wait

October week break.

We stayed in The Buchanan last week. I had been looking for a last minute hot tub place and we stretched the budget to book the Buchanan. I'm so glad we did. It was fabulous. Huge fluffy towels, super comfy beds, loads of room, a wonderful welcome pack and a massive hot tub. All surrounded by the most gorgeous countryside and the cutest animals on the farm. Everyone we spoke to was absolutely lovely and I honestly can't recommend enough. The only downside is that it's quite far from shops/restaurants however for us that wasnt an issue and we definitely would like to return. The house was so warm, clean and had everything we could need. We loved it.

Perfect Weekend with the family catching up and relaxing!

We decided to take advantage of a very good discount and book a last minute weekend stay at The Buchanan. As usual everything was perfect and we were able to take advantage of the thoughtfully placed outside furniture as the weather was beautiful. After the amazing thunder and lightning storm, Damian came round the lodges to check everything was ok, very thoughtful! Our welcome bag we receive with delicious goodies is alway gratefully received. Thank you again to all the team at Airhouses !

Outstanding stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at Airhouses and wish it could have been longer. Having been disappointed by the standard of accommodation and surroundings of another (very expensive) self-catering lodge, we checked out early (something we have never done before) having frantically searched online for an alternative. Carol could not have been more responsive in getting our new accommodation booked for us. Upon arrival, we found a delightful bag of goodies and accommodation that is spacious and absolutely immaculate. The setting is incredible – if you're looking for peace and to feel that you've stepped off the hamster wheel of life for a while, this is the place for you. The lodge was so well-equipped – everything has been thought of here. Kids loved the hot tub (husband too – under the stars) and we enjoyed a couple of BBQs. Dogs enjoyed the treats and the field to run free. All told, our stay was absolutely perfect and our hosts were the ideal mix of checking in to make sure we were OK but also leaving us to relax. We aren't the kind of people to go to the same place twice (preferring to experience new things), but we'd return here in a heartbeat. Thank you Carol, Damian and team for such a wonderful short break.
