Highly recommend

My friends and I had the best stay at the Capercaillie. The house was beautiful and very clean, with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The land the house was on was beautiful with lots to do/see. We felt the customer service was excellent. We’d definitely stay here again for a relaxing holiday!

Relaxing Break

Great stay. Beautiful views. Fantastic big hot tub and loved the bbq house. Top end finishings and nice welcome pack. Maybe slippers with the robes would be good.

Than you for your lovely review! We did decided to stop supplying slippers as standard as part of our commitment to sustainability - as they are a single use item. We do have some available in our little shop for a small fee if you would like to some to use and perhaps take home and wash. Hope that helps!

Stunning stay in The Borders

What a gorgeous place! The beautiful and well appointed house is situation at the heart of a working farm among the rolling hills of the Borders. We watched the light change over the hills and the sheep graze in the field. So peaceful and filled with wonder at the beauty. Thank you Airhouses!

Home from home

The peace and tranquillity of this place is second to none. We have been coming to Airhouses for many years and hope to continue for many more. Both children and adults enjoy the fabulous facilities including the accommodation, the hot tub, the toy barn, the coffee shop, the location, the hosts and all the wonderful animals. It’s an absolute joy to stay here and make wonderful memories through all the generations.

Great place for a family get together

Very comfortable and spacious and very well equipped, especially the kitchen which is important for family catering. The animals were a big hit with the children and hot tub with the adults.

A Beautiful Oasis surrounded by glorious countryside

Our stay was wonderful - just what we needed- a nature rich environment to relax in. The house is amazing- spacious and so well equipped - we had everything we needed and it was so comfortable. Damian was engaging and gave us a wonderful time feeding the animals alongside lots of information about them. We loved all the animals and laughed at the antics of Cocoa and Bean the two black goats. We are a multigenerational family but everyone enjoyed the peace and relaxation and didn’t want to leave even Nellie our dog! We all intend visiting again. Thank you to the family for a lovely time.

1st class accommodation

Went as a party of 10 which was 6 adults 4 young children and the accommodation was perfect for everyone. Everything we required was there we wanted for nothing. The children loved feeding the animals and interacting with them. We were close to many places so managed to visit a few. Views are outstanding and to sit in the hot tub looking out was spectacular. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room. We are going to book again as we all loved it.

Special stay

Everything was perfect. Great house, great hosts and a great place to stay. All the family loved the animals, the area and being able to wonder round at leisure. The hot tub was a bonus, and being there and seeing the northern lights made the weekend (A 60th Birthday celebration) even more special. Definitely one to remember.

Farmtastic!

It was a lovely large house with a huge well equipped kitchen and sitting room. We loved the bbq hut and used it twice! We also used the huge hot tub too. The surrounding farm was amazing and we all enjoyed feeding and petting the donkeys, ponies, sheep, pigs and goats. There was a little farm shop where we bought bags of pony nuts to feed them. We were lucky that the farmer showed us where a barn owl was hiding in the shed. The bedrooms were huge and the beds were super comfortable. The house is in a great location for visiting local attractions. We loved the generous welcome hamper on arrival.

Perfect Celebration House

My family and I had a wonderful time for my birthday celebration. The house was a super layout with loads of room. We loved visiting the animals with Damien and used the hot tub. Never used BBQ hut as was so dark and more comfy in the warm house. Such a peaceful location and would love to return some day.

Perfect venue for dad's 80th birthday

We had a lovely weekend at the Capercaillie to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. The house is clean, with lots of room so that 10 people can be accommodated comfortably. A lot of thought and care has been taken to furnish and equip the house, and the hosts are quick to respond to any queries. All this surrounded in beautiful, quiet countryside.

Amazing Airhouses

We return to amazing Airhouses time and time again in all seasons. This winter we booked the Capercaille for the mid-term holidays, our grandchildren had a keen desire to return to “the big house”. Over the years we’ve spent time in most of the lodges and they are all luxurious, well-appointed and equipped. The setting is amongst rolling hills, beautiful scenery and petting animals all adds to the feeling of being with nature, the children love to feed the animals with permitted treats. Waking with the cockerel and watching the golden sunrise in winter was magical.

Wonderful Stay

This was our 2nd stay at the Capercaillie. The whole house is immaculate, the owners have thought of everything. The hot tub is an added bonus, thanks to Damien for all his help.

Fantastic experience

The family enjoyed our holiday at Capercaillie. Our grandchildren loved the farm and meeting all the animals. The spa treatment was amazing and the accommodation was perfect. The owners were attentive, friendly and helpful. Thank you.

Family get together

Had a great weekend at the Capercaillie with family. The accommodation is first class and the hot tub a bonus enjoyed by all ages. The grandkids loved feeding the animals and exploring the farm. Customer service from booking right through the weekend was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for holiday accommodation

Lovely long weekend

We were greeted in the house by a fabulous hamper of beautifully curated local items of food and beverages which we really appreciated Everywhere was clean to a very high standard. Beautiful toiletries in all of the bathrooms We loved the bbq hut and the hot tub and enjoyed having Tracy along to give us some treatments The animals were beautiful/fabulous and it was a joy to walk round and feed them every day; sometimes twice a day Most of all we loved the location, the tranquility and the stars late at night and early morning - simply stunnning

Great house in beautiful location

Stayed here for a weekend with friends. Couldn’t fault the house. It was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. The highlight was feeding the farm animals though. Such a lovely location. Would definitely go back.

Amazing week at Airhouses

Myself and my family spent a week in Capercaillie, a beautiful house where everything was provided all appliances were top quality, nothing was too much trouble for the owners The setting was peaceful with some wonderful views. we had a three year old in our party who loved the blue hut with numerous toys for her to play with. This was our 3rd visit and will definitely be back in the future.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location.

The property was spacious and comfortable with all the equipment necessary for any eventuality. The wooden floors were excellent for a dog friendly property as was the stair gate at the top. The location was exceptional and the amenities on the farm were great. We didn’t use the cafe but the shop and being able to feed the animals were an added bonus. The barbecue hut and hot tub were great fun. Friendly, helpful owners, great communication. Highly recommend.

Excellent weekend stay

We had a wonderful stay with 3 generations at The Capercaillie for my husband’s 70th birthday. Everything was spotlessly clean, everything you needed was provided and we loved the rural location and surroundings. The three young children in the party enjoyed seeing the farm animals and visiting the well-stocked playhouse. Our welcoming bag was also much appreciated and a real luxury and Damien was very friendly and informative. I’m not at all surprised that shortly after we stayed it was announced as the best luxury experience in Scotland’s tourism awards.

Beautiful countryside

The capercaillie is a beautiful House overlooking wonderful Scottish countryside.the owners where very helpful with anything we needed to know,there where eight in our party and the capercaillie catered for all of us easily. A lovely modern property with everything you would need. A fantastic hot Tub and the amazing BBQ hut a great idea. We all had a wonderful week on the farm feeding the animals all very friendly.we would certainly stay again if visiting Scotland
