Beautiful 2BR Beach Lodge Set In Stunning Gardens - Pass the Keys
About this space
Relax and unwind in Birch Lodge, a beautifully presented Norwegian style lodge set amidst stunning mature Japanese inspired terraced gardens.
With open plan living space the lodge is spacious and welcoming. Enjoy an evening glass of wine on the decking area or at the utterly charming garden room overlooking the gardens and countryside beyond.
Just a few minutes from Sandyhills beach the lodge is located in the heart of the much desired Solway Coast and is a real gem.
Furry friends welcome!
The space
On arrival, you will find Birch Lodge perfectly located in an elevated position overlooking the countryside surrounding the Solway Coast.
Enter the lodge into a handy porch area which then leads to the utility room. As you walk through the hallway you will catch your first glimpse of the open plan living space and out to the stunning gardens.
The open plan sitting, dining & kitchen area is the perfect social space and means there is no chance of missing out on the fun with family or friends.
The fully equipped kitchen makes preparing a light lunch or full evening meal a breeze and you can choose to dine at the adjacent dining table or, during warmer months outside on the decked terrace. For the 'pick me up' enjoy a morning coffee from the Tassimo coffee machine.
The sitting area with two large, comfortable sofas, is the ideal spot to enjoy an evening in front of the TV after a long day at the beach or exploring all our beautiful region has to offer, alternatively, if you still have the energy, it is a great space for family games night and with the log burner it is wonderfully cosy and welcoming in the winter months.
Move down the hallway and you will be greeted by the first of the two bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a super comfortable king size bed and plenty of storage space for clothes and personal belongings.
Bedroom 2 has twin single beds, again a good size room with space for clothing.
The main bathroom is a great size. The free standing traditional style bath is just amazing for a long soak after a fun packed day (accompanied of course by a glass of wine)! For guests who prefer a quick freshen up in the morning, the separate shower is ideal.
OUTSIDE SPACE
Birch Lodge is very unique and it is unusual to find a lodge set within such a mature, extensive and individually designed garden. Inspired by the winding paths, nooks and crannies and terracing found in Japanese gardens, the outdoor space really is stunning with gardens to the back and side of the lodge.
A pond edged with Iris flowers, reeds and aquatic plants brings a sense of tranquility as you sit on the decked terrace with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
Small stepped paths meander their way through, shrubs, trees and mature plants, with red squirrels regularly spotted foraging for seeds & nuts.
The cherry on top is the absolutely charming garden room that can be found at the half way point, with it's own bistro table and chairs, enjoy a glass of fizz on the little terrace looking over the gardens and over the trees to the countryside beyond. In winter months, sitting inside with a warm blanket watching the stars with virtually zero light pollution and mug of mulled wine, really is the most magical experience.
THE AREA
The Solway Coast is one of the most desirable regions in South West Scotland, known as the Scottish Riviera there are multiple beaches both rocky and with long stretches of golden sands, charming harbour villages and small towns all within easy reach of Birch Lodge.
Centrally located, the lodge is only minutes from Sandy Hills beach with it's golden sands, Rockcliffe beach with it's rocks to climb and sea life to discover in rock pools and Kippford, a small but utterly gorgeous harbour village which sports some of the most expensive properties in Dumfries & Galloway!
The region itself has the most incredible history and has activities by the bucket load! From paddle boarding to jet skiing, visiting Highland Cows to indoor rock climbing, you can even visit the birth place of Peter Pan or how about the largest Dark Skies Forest in Europe! The possibilities are endless.
We look forward to welcoming you to Birch Lodge and we are so happy to be able to offer our beautiful lodge for guests to enjoy, we are confident you will create some wonderful core memories here and will wish to return time and again. See you soon!
