Welcome to Arthur's Retreat - Part of The Bay Filey Holiday Village (see below for more information).

Purchased by the new owners in February 2024, this property has been fully refurbished / decorated throughout and has been equipped with all new furniture, new flooring throughout, new bathroom / shower as well as all new appliances and lovely SMART TV this truly is a special property.

Enter into the hallway with access to the downstairs cloak / WC. Off the hallway is a large separate kitchen with all the appliances you need for a self catering holiday including dining room and fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washer/dryer etc with air fryer and other extras!.

Across the hallway is a large lounge diner with feature bay window to the lounge area and large dining area to the rear. The lounge area features a stunning corner sofa with large SMART TV with access to the dining area and garden.

Off the dining area (seating 5) are French doors opening onto a private furnished patio (new furniture), surrounded by large, shared garden and landscaped grounds.

Upstairs the property comprises of 1 double bedroom with double bed and a single bed with a further 1 twin bedroom with a large family bathroom complete with bath and overhead shower, Both bedrooms have SMART TV

Travel Cot, stairgate and High Chair are available for use free of charge (own bedding required).

We leave a few games for our guests to use. This spacious, warm and cosy house is ideal for breaks all year round.

This property is part of The Bay Holiday Village and all bookings gain direct beach access, unlimited use of The Bay Filey Indoor Pool, Baby Pool, Sauna, Steam Room and Gym. Some amenities are chargeable locally like food and drink, tennis and any activities operated by Away Resorts such as Archery and Crafts.

A great second stay.

This is the second time we have been to Arthur's Retreat. It was lovely, comfortable. Every possible need was thought of. We had a lovely time and hope to be back very soon.

A wonderful retreat!

We loved our stay at Arthur’s retreat for 4 nights. It was cosy, welcoming, clean, well equipped and the beds super comfy! The highlight was the reclining sofas, wow! The location was also great - just 35 minute walk along the beach to Filey and the resort is located on the main road to get out to other towns quickly and easily. Thoroughly recommend, hope to return some day! Thank you Lynn and Ian x

Modern and comfortable

Booked a midweek early Spring break, we stayed at Arthur's Retreat last year and loved the house so much we were happy to return. Perfect location on the village for access to the beach and a stones throw from the pub. The house was fully refurbished last year but it could have been last week as it has been kept immaculate!! The beds are super comfy and we love the decor and modern but comfortable furnishings. Would definately recommend :-)

The wow factor

This holiday cottage is a real treat, truely home from home comfort, plenty of facilities to keep you occupied. Beach on your door step, and a short drive to other seaside towns. A lovely short break at end of Feb, weather was lovely too.

Another lovely break at Arthur’s Retreat

Our second stay in Arthur’s Retreat. Cottage is very clean and comfortable. Everything you need in the kitchen if wanting to eat in, Beds very comfortable as is the lounge furniture. Can’t fault anything other than could do with a mirror at a slightly lower height. At 5ft 2 can only see the top of my head. This is just a personal remark and not a criticism of the lovely cottage. Anthony was very professional and helpful with ou booking.

Fantastic Holiday

My family and I had a fantastic holiday at Arthur's Retreat. The accommodation is spacious, fitted to a high standard and very comfortable for a family of 4. The location is perfect just a short walk from the on site pub, shop, gym, pool and tennis court, yet still very quiet. As avid table tennis players having the table literally outside the back door of the property was perfect for us (but could be slightly annoying for others!) Arthur's Retreat is the perfect place to stay to either explore the Yorkshire Coast or to stay and relax and enjoy the on site facilities and amazing beach. We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic Holiday

Excellent property

Location of property perfect for easy walking access to site amenities and beach paths. The house has lovely decor throughout, furniture and fittings all in excellent condition. The one thing it would benefit from is the provision of a clothes airer.

A spotless stay right on the coast

The Bay was recommended to us by friends as a dog friendly place to stay on the coast and it did not disappoint. The place was spotless and very close to the beach and the local pub. Ideal for walks (to either) although the dog did prefer the pub ;)

A firm favourite in our most visited village

Arthurs Retreat is absolutely stunning, it has very clearly been refurbished and it looks amazing. Everything in the property is clean and comfortable. Very well positioned in the resort. The hosts have considered every need for their guests Will definately be making a return visit

Showhome by the Sea!!

Lucky to be the first guests after a full refurb and felt like we were staying in a showhome! Beautifully decorated and furnished, new everything right down to the pots and pans. The owners had supplied everything we needed and more, I especially appreciated the air fryer and also the TVs in the bedrooms. The beds were soooo comfy with good quality mattress and mattress toppers but to be honest I would have been happy sleeping on the reclining sofa! The house felt very spacious for the two of us and a small dog but would accommodate a family easily. A full size single bed in the main bedroom is ideal for a family with 3 children, although for us this was not necessary and a dressing table would have been nice to have instead (with a put up bed or cot for when required). Location ideal very close to the central facilities with a lovely rear patio area overlooking a communal area with a table tennis table. Ample parking (not allocated) did get a bit busy over the bank holiday weekend and saw a few people having to drive around for a space. Communication with Anchor Bay Holidays was excellent with all the information we needed provided.
