Friendly, welcoming and peaceful.

Lovely homely house in a great location, with friendly helpful owner. A green and restful setting on a working farm of which we were given an interesting tour by Jan. The wood fired hot tub was a hit, the perfect way to watch the stars come out after a day exploring the many historic sights of the area. We highly recommend Solsgirth Home Farm.

Family Gathering

We were very impressed with all aspects of our stay at Solsgirth Home Farm and really enjoyed our time there. We particularly appreciated the warmness of the welcome, the welcome pack and the manner in which the children were treated when feeding the lambs and being shown the animals.

An excellent place for a weekend away.

We came here to get away for the weekend to celebrate my birthday as a big group. The farmhouse was lovely, it was very clean and the beds were so comfy! Jan took us on a farm tour, seeing lambing and feeding the lambs was such an experience. Stevie in the coffee shop taught us so much about coffee and kept us well caffeinated. The farm shop offered a huge selection of meats and eggs. So we are still enjoying the food even at home. We all want to come back as we enjoyed it so much! Thanks Everyone for making it an amazing stay!

Fantastic family stay

This was our second stay at the farmhouse and we all had a brilliant time again. Markets were great, kids had a great time playing in the huge garden all weekend. House had everything we needed and all the staff were lovely and very friendly. We can't wait to come back for another stay soon.

Family Christmas Reunion

Solgirth House Farm was the perfect venue for our family Christmas reunion. A beautiful warm, cosy farmhouse with a modern extension, it offers all the home comforts and space you need. Located on a working farm estate in a picturesque rural location, the farmhouse is a fantastic getaway destination. Furthermore, Jan (the host) leaves a delicious hamper full of local produce and is happy to give you a tour of the farm to see the emus, rheas, pigs, cows and goats. Great fun!

Aussie family farm stay

We had a wonderful time at Solsgirth Home Farm. We stayed in the farm house. The kids and grownups loved the farm tour and meeting all the wonderful animals. The farm is so green and picturesque. The house was a great size with lots of space. The family also loved the outdoor wood fired spa bath. I wished we lived closer so we could stay again soon.

Fantastic

We booked solsgirth farmhouse for the weekend with the whole family to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday, I would highly recommend this to anybody considering booking, DO IT! Communication was amazing, whether it was a phonecall, text or email, replies were quick and nothing was a hassle, thank you Leigh. Has everything you would need for the weekend, we were lucky enough to have the market on during our stay, deffo worth a look round.

Family weekend at Solsgirth

We had a lovely family weekend at Solsgirth, the house is great and the layout of the kitchen / dining / living area is fantastic for a big group. The location is nice and private with plenty garden space outside. A highlight was the farm tour, really nice touch to our stay.

Family weekend at the Farmhouse

The farmhouse was brilliant for our family weekend. It had everything we needed and we were able to arrange a online shop to be delivered before we arrived. We done the farm tour with Jan which was excellent, and the kids had a great time exploring the farm. We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to come back.

Family vacation

We were four adults and three teenagers visiting from Iceland and America, and we all absolutely loved the property. It is truly breathtaking—spacious rooms, incredibly comfortable beds, and an amazing kitchen that had everything we needed. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful and lovely touch.The hot tub was a special treat, and the farm tour was a highlight for both the kids and the adults. We loved meeting the animals and feeding the lambs—such a memorable experience.Overall, just a wonderful stay. Thank you again for everything!

Fabulous farm stay

9 of all our group members loved the house. Very clean and high quality furnishings especially I liked the kitchen facilities since we had to cook dinners. I will book again when I visit Scotland next time. The host members were also very kind and helpful

A lovely last minute getaway

We had the most wonderful stay at this holiday home! The accommodation was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. One of the highlights of our trip was the farm tour – it was such a unique experience for both the kids and us adults. Getting up close with the animals and learning more about farm life made our stay truly memorable. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, and you can tell they put a lot of care into making guests feel at home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful countryside escape with a bit of fun and adventure!

What a amazing place

Wow just wow I’ve been working on road for 15 years and this is best place ever stayed Kitchen amazing we can cook chat have a drink all in one place with views that a amazing Bedrooms so comfy bathrooms amazing We did not use snug as spent most of time in kitchen enjoying the amazing meat got from the farm There is a hot tub aswell this place not to be missed can not wait to return

Home from home

There were six of us staying for a week at Home Farm. The house has been beautifully renovated and the welcome basket was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome by Leigh and we enjoyed the extra treat of a wood fired hot tub! The farm visit, if you can arrange one, was great and we enjoyed watching the gaggle of ducks and two geese who think they are ducks, wandering around the property. The house is very quiet and it is a great location for exploring the local countryside. Stirling is not far away and we even had a day at St Andrews while two of us played golf on the Old Links. Our family stretches back to at least the 1700's working on the farm and surrounding farms which made it extra extra special to stay! We will be recommending to our relatives!

Family holiday

We were a family of 6 Adults & 4 Children & this farmhouse suited everyone. It has plenty of space & bedrooms were a great size. The kitchen was very well equipped & we didn’t miss any utensils or cooking dishes. We were also very impressed with the induction hob & ovens. The whole farmhouse was spotlessly clean & we couldn’t fault anything. The location was perfect for our wee ones, they absolutely loved the farm & great getting a chance to feed the goats & lambs & also hold the newborn chicks. The hot tub was an added bonus. A perfect holiday.

Wonderful stay

We were a family of four adults and four children. There was plenty of bedroom space for us all. The beds were extremely comfortable with luxury pillows and bedding. All the cottage had luxurious furnishings. We were met by Jan, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Jan did the farm tour which was amazing and her homemade shortbread was divine. The welcome pack was very generous and full of farm fresh goodies. The hot tub is an added bonus, as are the big gardens. We couldn't fault anything and have nothing but praise for Jan, Leigh and the team. If we are in the area again, there is only one place we would stay. In the meantime we will be telling everyone how fab the cottage is and in a great spot for access too. Many thanks.

A wonderful countryside getaway for all ages.

We arrived on Friday evening, adults and children between the ages of 9 and 14, and didn't leave until it was time to go home on Monday morning because we had everything we could have wanted and more. The farm tour was excellent, walks available from the doorstep and no need to go shopping because our order from the farm shop and Tesco online was unpacked awaiting our arrival. We received a beautiful welcome hamper which allowed us to try more of the farm produce. Thank you Jan, Isla and the team. We all had a wonderful stay.

A beautiful stay in a beautiful location.

I'm so glad I found this place, the house is beautiful and has plenty space for a large group. It's spotlessly clean and has everything you could need. The welcome basket is the best I've ever seen and such a lovely touch. The garden is lovely, with plenty room to run around and the sitting area with the hot tub is fabulous. Getting the opportunity to have a farm tour was brilliant, we all loved getting to bottle feed the lambs and hold some ducks and see all the other animals the farm has. The goats were so friendly. We also purchased quite a bit from the farm shop which was all delicious. Unfortunately, my dog had an veterinary emergency while staying here, the care and compensation shown by Joan was second to none, and helped to ease the pressure of what we were going through while our dog was recovering from surgery. I can't recommend Solsgirth enough, it's just perfect and we look forward to returning in the future.

Pure Perfection

Thank you Solsgirth Home Farm for the most wonderful stay! When we booked we thought the place seemed too good to be true, however when we arrived we were continued to be blown away! The house is incredible, everything has been thought of! Leigh was brilliant with contacting us and answering any queries prior to our stay, Jan greeted us at the house when we arrived and also took us on a tour of the farm the next morning! She spent time with us explaining about the farm and the animals, she was so informative and an inspiration! We even got to bottle feed the lambs which made the children's (and adults) week, the staff were fab too! We had a wonderful hamper on our arrival and was also able to buy some more produce made on the farm. Sausages, bacon and eggs all made for brilliant breakfasts! The honey is incredible too, we will enjoy the reminder of the farm from that over the coming weeks. The whole family love Solsgirth Farm, so much so we are booking our next family holiday there. We want to give a huge thank you to everyone at Solsgirth Home Farm who made our stay incredible, as the title states it was 'pure perfection!' We all look forward to seeing you all at our next stay!

Hidden Gem in Dollar

I highly recommend the Solsgrith Farm House accommodation and team (special shout out to the amazing Isla) after a recent weekend break there. I booked the farmhouse for a group of friends to celebrate a hen party. The booking process was straight forward and the staff were fantastic in answering questions in the lead up to our stay. They were also offered to put away a grocery shop that we had delivered earlier in the day and they heated up the hot tub so that it was ready for our arrival! The house itself is finished to a very high standard and is very fresh. It is spacious and has fantastic zones for coming together in large groups (large kitchen with dinning space for ten and a huge sofa) and smaller cosy spaces (a little sitting room off the kitchen). The house was well equipped with everything you could need (e.g., iron, washing machine, hair dryers etc). Our favourite feature was the sun terrace with fantastic outdoor seating and a huge hot tub. We visited the same weekend as their July market and found that there was plenty of privacy at the house, but the atmosphere around the place was lovely. Thank you Solsgirth team for a wonderful weekend, we are already planning to come back.
