It was everything we hoped for and more. It was clean, organized, had everything we needed. Even down to beach toys for the kids. I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again.

Perfect Family Vacation!

This was one of our favorite family vacations! The host was very kind, communicated well and in a timely manner. Check in was simple and flexible. The house was exactly how it was described and very clean. I was actually so impressed with how many things were in/out of the house for us to use. Lots of kitchen/laundry supplies. The host had a little welcome basket with coffee, s’mores stuff, paper plates, etc. Very thoughtful and stuff we definitely put to use. My kids packed their own toys and board games and I don’t think we used any of ours. Tons of toys and board games already at the house for your family to use for your stay. They used the blocks and magnatiles all week. A whole closet full of board games. Sand toys, volleyball, little slide outside. They really had everything. It was so relaxing and beautiful. The lake itself is a pretty relaxed spot. Not too busy of a lake. Everyone is very friendly and it doesn’t get rowdy. Perfect for families. The dock was perfect for fishing all week. Lots of fish! The property was also very clean outside as well as inside. Very well maintained. The sand going into the lake, making a little beach, was perfect for my younger kids. The area in general is very nice. There’s a corner store a couple minutes away and from there you’ll drive 15 plus to get to any major stores/populated areas. All surrounding towns clean and friendly. We will most definitely be booking this spot again and have already shared the link with families/friends.

Our stay was wonderful! The property looked exactly like it did in the photos, and the host was quick to respond to any questions we had. My 5-year-old daughter had an absolute blast, spending the entire day playing in the lake.

Great Cottage

Lots of fun, the best beach area, way bigger than it looks! Great master bedroom, very large kitchen and living area. Host was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Great cottage and beach!

The cottage was very clean and perfect for our families vacation. We had to cut the trip short due to a huge storm. Owners were very easy to get ahold of and great with communicating and working with us. We hope to be back another time! We loved the location as we were not too far from Grand Rapids.

Comfortable, Clean, Immaculate, lots of amenities

Perfectly clean, perfectly comfortable. Highly recommend. We loved the sandy entrance to the lake, we went swimming and fishing almost everyday. We were very comfortable in the lake house and enjoyed the vast number of amenities. Lots of space to hang out inside or out. We especially enjoyed the shaded chairs on the beach. We rented a pontoon boat and it was super easy to tie up to the dock for the week. We would definitely stay again. It was perfect! Lots of magical fireflies :-)

Beautiful home and private beach!

Unfortunately, our stay was cursed with bad luck as Grand Rapids and surrounding area including Ada, had some of the worst air quality in the world during our stay. This was a very unusual circumstance due to Canadian wildfires. So we didn't get to fully utilize this VRBO. BUT, I can still attest to the great setup, preparation, and accommodations that are offered here. Karen communicated great throughout. My wife and I hope to try again in the next summer or two to get better use of the beach next time!

Pure Michigan

The house was very clean and had pretty much everything and anything you would need. We cooked all of our meals the entire time we stayed (six days). I would recommend this property for a couple or family who is looking for a place they can stay and not feel compelled to drive into town often. If you are looking for a “pure Michigan” relaxing getaway, this is a GREAT spot.

Perfect Place

Great set up with everything you need and great book with directions explaining things around the cottage. Great communication and check in of our needs. Huge beach and dock. The swing is such a cozy spot to start and end the day. So clean!!! Having beach towels provided is a plus and the laundry area makes it nice for being able to return home with clean clothes. The fire pit was our favorite part at night. It is in the best spot to look up at the stars. This was our second time here. We rent a cottage each summer and this is a family favorite.

Perfect lake house

This house, beach, and lake were perfect for our family of four (kids age 4 and 6) for our one week stay. The house looks exactly like the pictures and feels even bigger in person. It is the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in! On a stormy day there was plenty of room in the living area to spread out and we appreciated all the various toys and games available that we couldn’t bring along from home (legos, duplos, magnatiles, potato heads, and lots of games for all ages). On sunny days the huge yard and shaded beach was perfect, best beach on the lake! Sandy bottom for the kids to play and jump off the dock, and the foam water pad was a bonus that they loved jumping and playing on. We enjoyed the location being only 30 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids and that it’s in range for Meijer grocery delivery! The information Karen provided in advance was very helpful and check in was a breeze. I appreciate an organized host. The only things we can think of to improve the experience would be a more comfortable mattress, blackout curtains in the kids room for the younger ones going to sleep before 9 pm sundown, and a boat to rent so we could ride around and tube on the lake. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great stay!!

What a perfect, relaxing getaway. Very clean upon arrival and a private place with zero traffic. Amazing view of the lake, and the kayaks that were provided was our favorite activity. Caught about a dozen bass off the dock. There's something for everyone! Highly suggest this place! Thanks for the great week :)

Relaxation and Fun

Wish we could have stayed longer -- highly recommended

What a fantastic space; the perfect getaway -- one of our favorite VRBO stays so far! We brought our pontoon boat and loved everything about this property... from nightly bonfires with smores, to family beach volleyball, to kayaking and paddle-boating, with quick & easy boat access, and a sandy beach where the kids played all day in the sand & water. The only thing we could have used more of was time and beach towels... Communication with the host was easy -- I really can't recommend this place highly enough!

Shorter Vacation that Expected

Unfortunately due to strong storms and lack of a generator, our expected week-long August visit to this property was cut very short, to only about 36 hours (lack of power also caused lack of water because the well pump couldn't run). Lack of power/water aside, the property was well appointed, very clean and had a great layout for our family of 5. Our kids loved playing on the beach and dock. All 3 kiddos shared the kids bedroom, which easily accommodated the use of a pack n play. The main challenge we had the first night was bathing the kiddos (ages 6/4/20 months), since there is no bath tub and the shower head is fixed. The power outage was initially thought to be temporary (only a few hours), and the owners checked in on us frequently during the power/water outage to ask if we needed anything. They were also very reasonable when we learned of the expected lack of power for the remainder of the week, and respected our request to cancel our reservation. The owners advised that based upon the circumstances of our visit, they were considering installing a permanent generator, and we would definitely come back if a permanent generator was installed.

Family fun at the beach

We had a wonderful, wonderful time at this lake house! The cottage was beautiful and so very clean! In addition, the layout was perfect for my husband and I and our four young children. Karen thoughtfully provided a basket with useful items and s'more ingredients, which we much appreciated and enjoyed. We kayaked, played on the amazing beach, and had campfires every single day. The kids also had a blast catching fish off the dock. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, and the surrounding area was lovely as well, with some fun spots for treats and exploration. We could not have enjoyed our time more and are eager to return to this top-notch property!

Fabulous family trip

My kids are already asking if we can come back next summer and I’m thrilled with how our vacation worked out. We needed a place to stay near Grand Rapids, so I could easily get into town to help my parents. My husband and I also needed to work remotely. I had seen an earlier review from another family in a similar situation, and decided to give this place a try. Best decision ever. I grew up going to a similar sized lake house, but this was far more luxurious!! Completely updated, beautiful styling, super clean, with dishwasher and washer and dryer!! The grass and sand were immaculate and a pleasure to walk on and play on with bare feet. We thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks, swimming, dock and the nice shade covers over the sand. The various seating areas were so comfortable and the wifi was strong and enabled both of us to work easily. Karen was so welcoming — there was an adorable welcome basket with necessities if needed, coffee, sugar, etc and s’mores making materials! Also a very thorough and easy to read booklet giving us all the information we needed, including where the grill tools were stored. The fire pit was pre-set with a perfectly set up stack of wood and twigs that made a bonfire a breeze. Nothing like a Michigan s’more!! Truly a wonderful space with so many comforts. It checked all the boxes for a great family vacation.

Perfect for my family!

This was the perfect set up for my young family (5m)(3r)(6yr) The lake & beach were very clean and great for young children. They made sand castles and jumped off the private dock all day. With no desire to dine out with 3 tired kids, we cooked all our meals at the rental and the kitchen was well equipped. Located at the end of the road, the only traffic seen was those water skiing on the lake. Had a great time and will be recommending to others looking for a beach getaway.

Amazing beach house on a lake

This was a perfect rental for our family of four. My boys are four and two years old and had an amazing time playing on the beach and in the lake. The lake is shallow without a steep drop off and the water was warm. The kayaks and paddle boat that were provided allowed us to experience the lake that was mostly traveled by pontoons on a leisurely stroll, along with a few fishing boats and boats pulling riders on tubes. The house was immaculate when we arrived and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Karen, the owner, was very responsive to any questions I had about the rental. We plan on staying here again in the future. My wife and I both have one recommendation each to improve the property. My wife’s recommendation is to have a full-sized indoor broom. There is a vacuum and dustpan with a small brush provided, but she would have liked a broom to do some quick sweeping at times. Mine is to have better Wi-Fi coverage to the backyard. While the speed is great and allowed me to work a couple half days while on vacation, it drops off significantly at the large tree in the backyard. There were times I had to chain my phone at the tree to my Bluetooth speaker at the edge of the sand to get music out at the beach. I believe a mesh network like Google Wifi placed at the lakeside of the house would easily get Wi-Fi coverage to the water. These were by no means deal breakers, but would have made an amazing experience just a little better.

Stay(ish)cation

I wanted somewhere near home to stay in case I had to go in to work. Luckily I didn't have to. I stayed almost a week and loved the updated house and the near-perfect waterfront area! I would love to come back when the water is a little warmer so I could swim everyday.
