Had a wonderful stay during Jazz Fest. The interior was spacious and comfortable. All the appliances were clean and new. The location was ideal and walking distance to so many of the great restaurants. Absolutely perfect!

Perfectly located for easy access to the French Quarter. And great restaurants are within a ten to twenty minute walk from the property: Saint John, Compere Lapin, Herbsaint, Pesche, Sofia, Cochon and Cochon Butcher. Ernst bar is nearby as well for casual meal. Large Rouse's market twelve minutes away. Ruby Slipper breakfast two blocks away. Drip just next door.

Yes, The Picayune Building is centrally located because it was The Daily Picayune Newspaper home, built circa 1850. Over the years the building housed the merger of the Times-Picayune Newspaper, still in print today, but moved to another office location on St. Charles Ave. around 1970. With how close all these restaurants are, iconic, formal or casual, no way to not satisfy your cravings. We would love to host you again. The host was great and very informative before we arrived. The condo was beautifully designed and very close to the French Quarter, so walking was easy. The bed was comfortable, amenities were just right and we would happily stay there in the future. Very comfortable space with lots of history on the walls!

With this being the original 1850's built building for the Daily Picayune Newspaper, later to become the Times-Picayune Newspaper until 1969, it all comes together with the centralized location and the framed pages of the historic newspapers on the walls. Each of our condos in the building has a different "themed" decor and framed pages of the newspapers, over the 175 years in the building, relating to the themed named section of the newspaper. Safety is important when in a different city, so that was comforting to hear. Those are Memory Foam mattresses, so when in a two bedroom / 2 bath, one of the beds is firmer than the other one, as we try to offer that variety of comfort. When you understand it was the original home of the Times-Picayune Newspaper, it all makes sense for the location; the journalist had to be near, walkable or a streetcar ride away from getting the scoop and then coming back to have it typeset and printed. The place was beautiful and had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the provided water, coffee and creamers to get us through the first day or so. The building itself was easy to get in and out of and was in a phenomenal location to walk to all the great New Orleans attractions. Barbara, the property manager was beyond helpful in every way. It is rare to have in room coffee, bottled waters, Gatorades, laundry detergent & fabric softener sheets for the washers & dryers, but we live here, eat here and have food drip on our clothes, so why should you have to leave all those stains or drips on your clothes, until you get home?! One of the best I’ve ever stayed at

As someone that travels for work often, I’ve stayed at rentals and hotels often and this is easily one of the cleanest and most well kept rentals I’ve ever stayed at. The host was wonderful, check in easy and location was perfect. I highly recommend and will be staying here anytime I am in NOLA

Although you were here for a work conference, we hope you were able to get out, see the sights, learn some of our history and culture, and obviously, enjoy all the flavorful foods that abound here. It was unfortunate that the wall mount TV went out during your stay, however, the owner had a new one delivered and installed the afternoon of your departure date. We cannot express what a perfect location The Picayune Building is to all attractions, and amazing foods there are in downtown New Orleans. Short walk up to Canal to catch one of the JazzFest shuttles and certainly not a long walk back to the condo after a full day of Festing! Look forward to hosting you again next year. VacayNOLA

Great place, great location

Really nice property in a great location - just a quick walk to the French Quarter. Communication with the hosts was great - would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Ben for the 5 Star review. Although your arrival was bumpy from the strong and sever thunderstorms we are elated that you had a great stay at The Picayune Building. It really is the best location to get around to everything that downtown New Orleans has to offer. Being here for the first weekend of rolling Mardi Gras parades ( the tamer weekend ) is always a bonus to see how we throw the largest FREE street party in the world! It's not too soon to make your future reservations for Mardi Gras 2024. It's really early, 2/2 - 2/13/2024. Book now for the best condos available to VacayNOLA in.

Thank you Davina for the 5 Star Review of The Picayune Building, the original 1850 home to the Daily Picayune Newspaper, later the Times-Picayune Newspaper until 1969. We themed each condo after a different section of the paper and used actual newspapers framed for each themed condo. Great location

The spot was ideal. Close to French Quarter and all of our planned events. Clean, roomy, and comfy bed! Only downside was we could hear the trash trucks slamming the dumpsters over and over every morning before dawn.

Thank you Madelyn for your 5 Star Review. We cannot express enough what a perfect location this is to all there is to see, go, do and eat while in downtown New Orleans ( or while being here to work for the week ). So glad you thought this condo was clean, roomy and always important to have a comfortable bed to get that much needed rest so you can get out there for the next day's adventures. I hate that you could hear that, it's weird, because the alley is too narrow for the trash trucks to make that turn to get down the alley, and dump those big dumpsters, so they have to be rolled to the streets on either end of the alley, and then picked up and dumped, so wow, is Picayune Alley a full on echo chamber! We would love to have you back, should you have another extended stay for work and have a few condos that will rent out for a full month at a time, until you can find a permanent place to live, if you get transferred to our beloved city.
